Chapter 152: | 152 | A Dragon Learning Magicraft

\'She rarely lower her guard down. The only time I remember her lowering it was when...\' A tint of crimson red flushed on his cheeks, prompting him to shake his head, ridding himself of such thoughts.

At any rate, Abraham was the only one that Laplace trusted to lower her guard around. And that trust wasn\'t to be underestimated. After all, she had just been betrayed by those she trusted and her organization, the Revolting Tide.

With this in mind, although he was a bit annoyed, he can\'t get himself to have a grudge against her. And to be fair, it was a boyfriend\'s duty to guard his girlfriend when she has something that required her entire attention to do.

"Lady Laplace, remember the runic language I have taught to you and the framework of the spell circle, as to how their articulate with one another." The Director reminded to the focused dragoness, who nodded her head in understanding.

She pointed her palms forward and gathered mana in the air. In mere moments, a spell circle materialized and sparked before her presence. But unlike the usual spell circles, it didn\'t have the runic engravements which supported the spell.

"Good, follow the command syntax I have given you with the runic language." The Director uttered as he planned to guide the lady during the entire process. Fortunately, the spell they had chosen to learn was simple.

"Okay," Laplace imagined the runic command syntax engraved onto the spell circle she had materialized in the air. Her imagination was clear and cutthroat, leaving no room for error. It was embedded into her mind, proving the length of her concentration.

A few seconds passed by as multiple engravings appeared inside the spell circle before her. It took some time to complete, but it would have been the fastest first time casting of a spell. After all, it would usually take time for others to create a solid mental image of the spell.

Seeing the creation of the spell, the Director\'s admiration to the dragoness grew higher. "As expected of Lady Laplace, the sword of the Fleet Admiral. Her talent knows no bounds."

"Lady Laplace, release the spell towards that tree line." The Director pointed at some direction in the forest, which she immediately caught despite her closed eyelids. She changed the trajectory of the spell and released it with proficiency.

Laplace finally opened her eyelids and muttered under her breath. "Fireball." At that moment, the spell circle shone with unparalleled brilliance and blasted out a fireball from its runic engravements. However... There was a great difference compared to the normal casted fireball of the Magus.

Her fireball was much more larger, akin to a beam of fiery flames.

*ROARR!!!* The beam of flames roared into the forest burning everything in its path. It left behind trails of ashes and broken trunks, bringing about destruction in its wake. The beam soon landed to where it was directed, and what followed was...

Radiance far brighter than ever before. It was akin to the largest flashbang being dropped in the middle of the forest. And after it was the shockwave.

*BOOM!!!*

Some trees were uprooted from the ground with branches flung off into the distance. Leaves departed from where they came, scattering away with the shockwave. It reached far and wide, rivalling that of ten-ton explosion.

Dust shrouded the surroundings along with surging winds.

The Director laid on the ground with amazement plastered on his face. His limbs, body, and bone seem to shiver from the power of the spell. It was grandiose, especially when it didn\'t require anyone a weapon.

This was practically knowledge turned into power.

On the other hand, Abraham stood against the shockwave without a problem and merely whistled from the power of his lover\'s spell. He turned his gaze at her and remarked. "Laplace, can\'t you contain the power of your spell? That almost killed me, you know?"

Laplace, who observed the effects of her spell, chuckled at the remarks of Abraham. "A bit too calm for someone who was almost killing, don\'t you think?"

"Well, I don\'t think I can die with you around, so there\'s that." Abraham sighed as he didn\'t think he would die with Laplace beside him even if he wanted to. Ah... The fate of a dragon\'s lover. There was no used in regretting it now.

After all, he had promised to be with her forever. And he shall do so without a problem.

"But I guess that was my fault. I forgot to control my mana input when casting the spell. I splurged more mana than expected, creating the explosion you see now. Though, I didn\'t think that giving it such low mana would bring that much of an explosion."

Laplace raised her eyebrows while staring at the crater in the distance. Her fireball had gone far beyond her expectations. The mana she had given it was already low. To think that much mana would have a great effect.

"Maybe your standards of low is different from normal. After all, a percent of a billion is different from a percent of a thousand." Abraham commented, and he might have been correct with his words. Even though Laplace gave it her lowest possible mana, she was still a dragon.

Dragons were the highest creatures that nature could conjure. Other than the so-called Sovereigns, or Gods. They were the strongest beings in the foreign world. With Laplace being one, and an evolved dragon at that, the effects of her magic should have been expected.

"I guess you are right. I should start lowering it below .01 percent. It seems that a percent of a percent is still too powerful for the forest." Laplace remarked, causing Abraham to feel a bit petrified. That explosion was below a percent? A percent of a percent.

\'I must not anger her if I wish for a long life.\' He quietly thought, trying to forged this rule into his heart. It would be good if he remembered such words every now and then. After all, he didn\'t want to die yet.

\'But it makes me wonder how I hadn\'t died from my nightly adventures with her.\' Abraham blushed since his thoughts appeared to always recollect the memories of their night together. It might have been the best moment in his life, so it was hard to stop thinking about it.

Though, he soon regained control of himself and thought. \'Why are you horny, Abraham! Control yourse-\' But his thoughts were interrupted when he noticed Laplace staring at him with a smirk plastered on her face.

She slowly made suggestive movements with her hands as if grabbing something and playing with it. Abraham couldn\'t help but gulp since he was about to lose himself. However, he immediately realized that she was playing with him after seeing her chuckling at him.

\'I can\'t believe this. Damn you, dragon! Wait till I get my hands on you.\' Abraham was playing kind now. It was time to go in an offensive. But the Director was still near them, so the attack had to be held off until the two of them were alone.

Even so, he wasn\'t planning in giving up. He shall get his revenge.

*Cough!* *Cough!* *Cough!*

The Director began coughing while standing up. He looked at Laplace with amazement and uttered. "I thought that it would take time for you to get a hang of it. It seems that we can immediately start with creating magical artifacts. However, since I have already taken your time for this day."

"I will hold off the magic training for now. Let us end our session." The Director stated while patting dusts off his clothes. He needed to change his strategy for their magicraft sessions now that he had known the extraordinary talent of the dragoness.

"Alright, I\'ll see you next time." Laplace merely nodded and didn\'t think much of his words. Though, she was somewhat surprised by how easy magicraft was. Perhaps, she might become something like a Sovereign on her own through her talent.

"I\'ll take my leave now, Fleet Admiral." The Director saluted to Abraham and walked into the distance, planning to return to the Port of Dawn on his own. After all, the fleet admiral and the dragoness had their plans.

\'Hmm... I wonder when I will meet the heir of the United Navy.\' He thought while disappearing into the shrubs of the forest that surrounded them.

Meanwhile, Abraham and Laplace were left alone, silence shrouding them. She gazed at Abraham and wondered if he was angry with her teasing. But unexpectedly, he stepped closer to her and hugged her tightly in his arms.

Laplace was surprised by the swift affection of the fleet admiral. Tint of crimson flared up on her cheeks as she found herself unable to be free from his hug. It was as though her body didn\'t want to leave such a situation.

Abraham placed his lips beside Laplace\'s ears and nibbled it before whispering softly. "Laplace, did you have fun teasing me? Have I failed to remind you that a man has his limits?"

"Eh?" Laplace felt confused, but felt her body getting off the ground. Out of nowhere, Abraham carried her in a princess position and began running towards the Port of Dawn at full throttle.

"Heh... Let\'s go home, my dragoness!"
