Chapter 101 101 – Next Phase
In the morning, Darren knocked on the guest room door many times. Never get an answer, he decided to peek into the keyhole of the room\'s door.
Just then, Ayre opened the door from inside.
"You guys slept really well or something, huh?" He sighed. "I have called you many times…."
The blacksmith raised an eyebrow when he found that the bedroom window was open and Vorn was nowhere to be seen.
"Where are you guys from?" Darren\'s expression firmed. "Why don\'t you guys use the front door to leave?"
"Sorry, we left without your permission last night." Ayre took out something from the pouch hanging on her belt. "My friend and I got these from Albert Garlington\'s."
Darren\'s chin dropped. His hand took the rose-shaped object from Ayre\'s hand. "Holy shit. You guys really pulled it off."
"However, my friend sustained injuries and is currently being cared for by Faye, the witch," Ayre explained further. "He asked me to see you."
Darren looked back at the open window and the empty bed. "But that doesn\'t explain why you came through the window. You really had no intention of hiding any of this. right?"
"You\'d be more surprised if I came through the front door."
"Ah…." Darren rubbed his chin, slightly looking up. "That actually makes sense…. Well, let\'s have breakfast."
As the blacksmith turned around, Ayre asked. "Can I immediately train with you after this, sir?"
Vorn had indeed ordered her to immediately practice forging to save time. The demon lord thought that Ayre accompanying him would be a waste of time.
"Sure." Darren kept walking using his cane. "However, you must be prepared, miss. Like I said before, I will teach you from the basics because those are the fundamentals of the smithy."
Ayre walked, following the man. "No problem."
Ah, and thanks for bringing this Mythril to me. The man looked at the rose-shaped object in his hand. "I don\'t know what you guys did to get it, and I don\'t care. The important thing is I have a chance to change this thing to be more worthy…. Even if it\'s not using my own hands."

[Vorn\'s POV]
I opened my eyes in a room, then sat on the edge of the bed. My pain has reduced a lot, but my head is a bit dizzy. It was thanks to the painkillers Faye gave me.
"Because you\'re not an ordinary human, I had to use a large dose of anesthetic to relieve your pain." Faye, sitting in a chair in the corner, puffed on her cigar. "I\'ve been waiting hours for you to wake up. Could you kindly tell me who you really are? Those wings on your back don\'t show you\'re an ordinary human."
I checked my wings, which had been free thanks to Ayre\'s burning, and were now covered in multiple wounds. Then, I observed the bandages covering almost my entire body. Damn, my injuries are nasty.
"I\'m sorry if my treatment wasn\'t optimal. I\'m not a healer, after all." Faye blew thick smoke from her mouth. "And sorry if I sound impatient, but I want to know who you really are. So, please answer my question. Last night your friend threatened me to take care of you. I think I deserve to know who you are."
"Sorry." I massaged my forehead, unable to think straight. "I\'m what you call a demon."
"I already guessed." Faye\'s hands shook. "While examining your blood, I found a significant difference from ordinary humans\'... So, what are you doing in this boring city, demon?"
"I told you yesterday we want to return to the future," I answered her. "I\'m telling the truth. Otherwise, I wouldn\'t have bothered to steal the Mythril."
Faye threw the rest of her cigar on the floor, then stomped on it. "I won\'t be able to fight you, even if you\'re in this state. So, I will help you. This era doesn\'t need a demon like you."
"Thank goodness you believed my story." I gave her a faint smile.
"The magic circle your friend showed me was legit." Faye got up from her chair and approached me. "I can\'t deny it."
"So, will you tell the location of a giganpoppy or a high creature?"
The witch took a deep breath and stood before me with her arms crossed over her chest. "The existence of the giganpoppy is still obscure and can\'t be confirmed. Maybe I should go out of town to ask my friends about it."
"Thanks." I widen my smile. "So, do you know where I can find that high creature?"
Faye moved away from me, leaned against the wall, and lit another cigar with the fire in her finger. She smoked the cigar again. "Unfortunately, it\'s also the same. We don\'t know the exact whereabouts of any high demons."
Those words had made me down, but I noticed something. "You said you didn\'t know the existence of high demons. So, do you know another equal creature?"
I could see that the woman\'s hands were shaking even more.
Not getting a response, I got out of bed. "You know that, right?"
"Far north, there is a country where almost all its inhabitants are elves. It\'s a very wealthy country. Their land is very fertile, providing abundant and high-quality crops." Faye took a deep breath. "Would you believe that all kinds of plants would thrive there? Regardless of their origin and climatic requirements."
"Well, I never heard of such a story in my era." I shrugged. "But that doesn\'t mean I don\'t believe it. Go on, please."
Faye looked down, then continued. "It was all possible because of an entity guarding their land…. Some say it\'s a goddess, some say it\'s a fairy…."
The intervals of my heartbeats tightened. "What is the most important thing about being?"
"Its life is vital to the inhabitants of that country." She looked at me with a bitter smile. "That being is very selfless and doesn\'t think anything of itself is important. That being considered that the land it protects is important."
"So, I have to take the corpse to perform the time travel magic ritual?"
Faye smoked her cigar for the umpteenth time. "But it will most likely destroy the elven country."
Holy shit. Can I survive the mental stress after doing something that big? "What about me? I think I\'m a high creature too... How about I use my wings as a sacrifice?"
"Can your wings grow back?"
"I think so."
She walked over to me. "Then, it won\'t work. The most important thing is to completely \'disappear\' the high creature. So, until you can find a way to stop your wings from growing again, then it\'s useless."
