Chapter 58: Unsatisfied With the Interactions

Ever since Liu Man started her part-time job, she had stopped live-streaming. However, during her breaks, she would interact with her fans on Wei Bo and at least inform everyone she wasn’t slacking off on purpose.

As usual, Yu Zhan would send her one or two photos of her cat Daylight every day on WeChat, and make small talk with her. Sometimes the photos were photos of the cat alone, sometimes they were romantic photos with Paul. Liu Man uploaded them all to Wei Bo.

As a routine, Tang Tu would like her cat pictures she posted on Weibo every day, occasionally reposting it, and even commenting something like “what a cutie”.

If this had happened only once or twice, Tang Tu’s fans wouldn’t care, but they started taking it seriously when it happened every day.

“Who is this princess? I’ve been a follower for years and have never seen him try so diligently hyping up someone else’s Wei Bo.”

“Yeah. Before, Princess Man had little more than thirty-thousand fans. Now, she has over forty-thousand, all thanks to our Tu Tu.”

“I sure hope it is not some random woman trying to seduce our Tu Tu.”

There are fans in the comments who specifically pinged Shen Mozhen, telling her to “watch her boyfriend.”

Fans of Liu Man started to discuss it, too.

“Peach is a fairy”, asked her on WeChat:

“Man, do you know Tang Tu?” Peach stopped calling Liu Man ‘sis’ after knowing that Liu Man was younger than herself.

Liu Man didn’t see a reason to hide it—after all, she was friends with Peach now, “Yes, he’s my upperclassman.”

 “!!!”

“Yeah yeah, That’s right. I just remembered that Tang Tu is also a student at the Capital City Music University, and it seems that he studies the violin.”

As mentioned before, when Liu Man added Peach on WeChat, Peach asked about Liu Man’s school, she just didn’t associate the two.

“Wait, entertainment news is now saying that Tang Tu is filming a new movie in Shanghai…Yang Huayue is shooting a movie in Shanghai, and you are also working part-time in Shanghai. Tang Tu suddenly followed your Weibo, Yang Huayue also followed your Weibo. Don’t tell me your part-time job is in the movies!” She added a terrified emoji.

“Yeah, you guessed it.”

“Oh my god, this is getting interesting. Everyone thinks that you are not good looking. But even though you could earn money with your looks, you didn’t and worked hard,” Peach was very excited and sent long strings of words.

“I need to ask though, when Coco was broadcasting on the street that day, she was always looking toward you, and you cut off your live-stream for no reason. Could it be that you are the ‘Hanfu goddess’ who accompanied her……”

Liu Man was impressed by Peach’s inference abilities, “You guessed it again.”

“My Princess, my God, Jesus, what the heck, you are so beautiful and so talented. This is so unfair, unfair, unfair! I’m about to be jealous to death! Ahhh!”

Peach spammed a bunch of angry and depressed emojis.

Liu Man thought Peach was angry, but after a while, she received a series of laughing emojis, “Hahaha, I am the only one among your fans who knows your true identity. Let them stay in the dark. I’m waiting to see how shocked they will be when they discover you are the Hanfu Goddess.”

Peach was really a caring fan. Not only did she keep the identity of Liu Man safe, but she also immediately logged onto Weibo and defended Liu Man against Tang Tu’s posse.

“Hey, hey, hey, you idiotic Tang Tu fans, don’t attack my little princess’s Wei Bo. People who have followed ‘Princess Man’ since the beginning all know that she is a piano major at the Capital City Music University. She and Tang Tu have met IRL and are classmates helping each other out, but everyone put it like she was a side chick trying to seduce Tang Tu.”

The speech from “Peach is a fairy” stunned Princess Man’s other fans. The old fans knew she was a piano major, but they had no idea she was from the Capital City Music University.

“She’s from Capital City Music University? Unbelievable!”

“This school has been nicknamed ‘heaven’ for music students in China. Everyone who got in is extremely talented.”

“I really followed an incredible streamer!”

“This time, Tang Tu fans can’t keep on biting our Princess.”

“Yeah, he only dropped likes on her posts. How big of a deal is that?”

“Besides, sis has never interacted with Tang Tu on Wei Bo and has never liked or reposted any of Tang Tu’s posts. I just went to see and realized she doesn’t even follow Tang Tu back! What evidence do you idiotic fans even have for saying she tried to seduce Tang Tu?”

“Also, our princess isn’t quite…good looking. Tang Tu probably wouldn’t even like her.”

“Rumors say that Tang Tu’s girlfriend is really beautiful. Tang Tu would be blind to like our live-streamer.”

“Let our streamer live. She’s just someone who shows pictures of her kitten. Although our fan circle is very small, we all have the team spirit and we all like her. Even if your Tang Tu didn’t follow her, I believe she would get to forty-thousand fans eventually.”

“Yes. Though sis isn’t a belle, talents can beautify people, too! She will succeed one day, with her talents.”

They could no longer pick a fight when Princess Man’s fans mentioned how ugly she was. Everyone knew how beautiful Shen Mozhen was, so Tang Tu’s fans thought they were overreacting. How could Tang Tu be attracted to an ugly girl? He was probably just giving her shoutouts because they were in the same school.

But they still rambled on on the internet:

“She’s ugly and she calls herself a princess. Wow.”

“This you don’t understand: The more ugly one is, the more one thinks they’re a ‘princess’. She doesn’t have admirers or people who like her, so she could only imagine it.”

“Haha, no wonder she never shows her face. She’s probably a pig.”

Liu Man chose to ignore Tang Tu’s likes and how his fans slandered her. She responded to neither the fans nor Tang Tu.

Sometimes things get worse if you can’t let go. There was no need for her to go to Tang Tu and tell him not to tap on the like button, that would be the really dumb thing to do—Tang Tu only liked the ones of Daylight, not her. What if Tang Tu was just another fan of Daylight?

She couldn’t care less about responding to Tang Tu’s fans. Those criticisms and downright ugly things the fans spouted were nothing compared to what she heard back at the cold palace. She gave a faint smile as she saw the comments and didn’t take them seriously.

Tang Tu himself, as if he didn’t see the comments on Wei Bo, did not engage or respond. He just continued quietly liking and reposting.

But the fact that Liu Man and Tang Tu didn’t care doesn’t mean others won’t as well.
