Chapter 334 Promise
"All right, you will see me in eight hundred years," Aion said.
The primordial firebird nodded and then returned to another volcano to sleep or something. As for Aion, he headed to where he could find the mirrors and then used the relics.
Once Aion crossed the mirror and returned to the present. He also returned to the place where he met the firebird… once again, the land began to tremble, and then a volcano suddenly erupted. The massive creature approached, and Aion wondered if he was seeing a replay or something.
"I have been waiting…" the primordial firebird said.
"... If you still remember, does that mean that I changed the past? Or is this another timeline?" Aion asked.
"It is the same world following the same route," the primordial firebird replied. "The History that you know is probably different from the reality, so it is impossible to confirm, though. Nevertheless, my name is Fenhair, guardian of the Western sky, and just as promised, I offer my help to you since I sensed recent traces of time magic being used in the recent years with malicious intents."
"How many times and when exactly?" Aion asked.
"Two times, five years ago and twenty years ago," Fenhair replied.
Five years ago was during the time Aion\'s mother had been captured, and the ice dragon appeared. Still, Aion didn\'t know what happened twenty years ago… he was born seventeen years ago, and the fall of the Milleris kingdom happened one year before him.
While Aion was thinking, Fenhair suddenly made a sphere of energy enter his body. It didn\'t make him any stronger, but Aion could tell that he had a connection with Fenhair now.
Fenhair became a tamed creature.
"We can talk at any moment as long as we are in the same present now," Fenhair declared. "What are your orders?"
"Let\'s go home for now," Aion replied and then jumped on the back of Fenhair. "By the way, aren\'t you a bit too cooperative?"
"Your ancestor and her friends saved me once. I am indebted to your bloodline… at least when you all have the same intentions as her," Fenhair replied.
"So, you have been around for three thousand years?" Aion asked. "By the way, I met someone that looked like her… twice. One of them was in your land eight hundred years ago."
"That is unlikely, and I could recognize her magic presence in any part of the world if she were alive," Fenhair shooked his head.
Fenhair looked pretty confident in his abilities. He has been alive for three thousand years, after all… despite that, he didn\'t do much but sleep in his backyard. Nevertheless, Aion would rather find pieces of information by himself and then eventually reach his own conclusion rather than wait for someone to give him the answer.
In any case, Fenhair began to fly toward the East, and even without the flying rune, he could easily keep up with the speed of the draconic wanderer. Aion wondered if there was a timeline where the draconic wanderer won a fight against him… but he will never be able to confirm that.
Having a flying tamed creature was really useful… Aion had thirty very comfortable hours to train on Fenhair\'s back. Thanks to it, he learned how to create the orbs with relative ease, and he also could store them in his inventory.
"This will give me a decent boost, but I need other ways to make my training methods to become more efficient…" Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I guess before that, I need to master Explosive Release."
It goes without saying, but creating the health and stamina cores had been truly difficult, and that was making them inside Aion. Making them exist outside his body would be many times more difficult. Still, Aion started that anyway… he didn\'t make any progress, though.
"By the way, do you need to live inside magma or something?" Aion asked. "I wonder if grandpa and grandma will get mad if I built a river of magma near the capital."
"I don\'t need it. I just need it to sleep and harness mana," Fenhair replied. "I don\'t understand how, but you have the same power as someone I heard of two thousand years ago. The power to tame other creatures and make them stronger with your magic. Sometimes, your presence feels familiar, so I advise you to polish those skills in order to make me even more useful in combat."
"Will do," Aion said while thinking that he was talking about the Tamer class. "All right, I will start repairing the fallen capital, and then I will make a place where you can rest there as well."
Aion assumed that Malon was the one who gave him the system… but if he left three thousand years ago, did he study and steal the power that some people obtained after mutating? Aion could imagine him returning to his home several times over the years if he could live that long. Still, it was hard to imagine that someone in Malon\'s position would feel the need to take the power of others. Things were getting even more confusing.
Aion asked Fenhair to fly high in order to avoid problems while they were crossing the Zaera kingdom. Still, it was only a matter of time before he was discovered. It would be a bit unreasonable to ask Fenhair to hide as well when he came to help him and left his homeland after three thousand years.
The mage class has leveled up.
The mage class has leveled up.
The mage class has leveled up.
…
Once Aion began to repair the fallen capital, the mage class began to level up a lot faster than before since his grandmother began to give him her mana as well. Thanks to that, Aion wondered what would happen once he had all the second-tier classes after mastering the mage class three times. He was expecting something good to happen, and he wasn\'t disappointed.
