Chapter 260 Higher Being (Part 1)

\'\'Remove it. I don\'t need anyone to shield me from the presence of this lowly creature. \'\'

\'\'...\'\'

As Raydon\'s words reverberated in their heads, everyone in the room went completely still.

\'Lowly creature?\'

Was Raydon really calling this existence, which possesses a presence that shakes everyone\'s body and soul, a lowly creature with a look of disgust on his face?

If this is a lowly creature, then why were they so frightened at its mere presence?

\'\'Wait…Now I recall where I previously experienced this feeling. \'\' As everyone turned their attention to Raydon in complete astonishment, Seren spoke up after coming to a sudden realization.

"Yes, I remember it as well. How am I supposed to forget about this overwhelming pressure anyway? \'\' When Elara thought back to the day she had first awakened, she spoke with a tone that was filled with awe and fear.

\'\'That\'s right. It\'s the Observer. \'\' Cael said, confirming everyone else\'s thoughts with his statement.

With unwavering certainty, they recognized the overpowering pressure radiating from the ruined structure in front of them as belonging to the same horrifying and colossal black eye they had encountered within the depths of the dark dimension. It held a profound significance, for it was the very entity they had beheld when their item holder powers were first awakened, etching a lasting memory in their minds.

"But why is the presence of the Observer emanating from this gate? Don\'t tell me… So, this is actually a gate to the realm of a god or something like that?" asked Arden.

No one among them possessed the true name of the entity they now referred to as the Observer. Its name was merely assigned based on its role in aiding the awakening of item holders and overseeing their progress. The item holders\' system still held many mysteries for them, and some of them believed that the entity tasked with granting its power to all of the item holders in this system was actually a servant of god. Others went even further and believed that the entity itself was a god.

But regardless of what anyone thought, everyone shared a single conception of this being, and that conception was that this being unquestionably possessed a great deal more power than even the most powerful high-ranking item holder.

Suddenly, Samuen started laughing and said. \'\'The realm of the gods? No, of course not. To be honest, I am not entirely certain if there is a location of this kind, but I can say with absolute certainty that this gate does not lead to this kind of location. This gate actually opens into a fallen world just like any other ordinary rift. \'\'

\'\'Fallen world? Then, what exactly is the connection between this fallen world and that being? \'\' Arden asked again.

Samuen paused for a moment before slowly speaking as he turned to face the gate. "Because it was the Observer itself who caused this world to become a fallen world."

\'\'What? Was the calamity of this world the Observer?\'\' Arden asked this in disbelief.

Everyone was as shocked as Arden at what they heard.

At that moment, a single question echoed in everyone\'s mind: \'What kind of world is this that has brought forth the Observer as a calamity?\'

The shock that gripped them stemmed from their deep understanding of what it truly meant for a world to become a fallen world. They had a good understanding of the prerequisites that must be met before a world can be described as a fallen one. If the item holders residing within the world could no longer safeguard it from external threats, were unable to seal the rifts that periodically opened, and failed to produce powerful item holders, it signaled the world\'s decline. Eventually, as the culmination of this decline, a calamity would be unleashed upon that world, serving as the ultimate test.

If the item holders of that world were unable to stop this calamity, which was highly unlikely, then any remaining item holders in that world would be wiped out by this catastrophe, and the world would become a fallen world as a result.

As Arden and the others considered the situation, they were aware that the severity of these calamities could vary greatly depending on the combined power of the item holders living in that world. However, none of them had ever considered the possibility that the Observer would personally descend as a calamity and directly orchestrate the transformation of a world into a fallen one.

"Are you absolutely sure that you want to face the pressure of this being?" Zephyr asked Raydon in a very serious tone of voice as he turned to face him.

After gaining a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of everything, he found Raydon\'s request to be even more absurd. Arden understood that his own willpower, as a C-Rank, should have been sufficient to withstand the immense pressure they were facing, but what chance did Raydon have as an E-Rank?

"Listen to him. He will be alright," Samuen urged, his smile calm and reassuring. \'\'Also, all of you stop using your shields and feel the pressure. If you want to have a better understanding of what I\'m about to say to you, you need to first understand why this presence has such a significant impact on you. \'\'

Zephyr was taken aback for a brief moment by what he heard, but rather than utter a word, he simply nodded and removed the shield that was covering both Raydon and himself.

\'What exactly are they talking about? \' Raydon was thinking to himself as he watched Samuen and the others act in a peculiar manner. He had no idea what was going on, particularly because of Samuen\'s odd demeanor and the way that he was looking at him.

Even though he was aware of what the Observer was, he was perplexed as to why he felt an unreasonable annoyance toward it. However, he believed that everyone felt the same way about it. After all, there isn\'t a single person on the planet who wouldn\'t be annoyed if something demanded that they submit themselves.
