Chapter 610 - Kindness Returned With Ingratitude
Chapter 610: Kindness Returned With Ingratitude
Of course, these people were not like the ones in the City of Death. They would still honor the contract, not consumed by greed.
Besides, these men were more cowardly compared to the thugs in the City of Death. After all, they now knew just how impossibly powerful Qin Feng was!
It took Qin Feng four hours to slaughter the bees and it also took three hours for them to collect the materials. When they finally finished collecting, the skies were getting dark—it was winter; so, night came early.
“Let’s retreat.” Qin Feng ordered.
Before leaving, some of them still used their conscious energy to scan the area again to double check. They were afraid that they had left anything valuable behind.
It felt almost like they had gotten addicted to collecting the treasures!
However, it took them a lot of effort to collect them too. Not every material from the bees was invaluable. The best materials were their venom stingers—these things were as hard as steel. Other than that, the bees’ shells were so sturdy that they could make armors out of them. Even though the wings were quite fragile, they could be used to make air gliders.
Still, to collect them, one would need to dissect them. And to dissect them, they would need to cut open their stomachs—these contained nauseous green goo.
If Qin Feng were to bring these corpses back whole, Xue Xingfu and the gang would have to deal with the goo and it would dirty up the base.
This was why Qin Feng wanted to bring some men with him—so that he could handle dissection on the field. Not only that, he could also bring these back to the market to sell them.
Of course, Qin Feng had burned everything else that he did not need. He could not risk leaving anything behind—the other ultra beasts could chow down on their remains and grow stronger.
Thus, the eight of them retreated with joy that night.
And out of pure coincidence, Qin Feng’s team met up with Xu Qing’s team.
The seventh and fifth regions were quite close to one another. These two regions were zones that were slightly more dangerous than the others too. As the two teams met up and travelled back together, Qin Feng and Xu Qing started to chat using their internal energy. They did not mind if their teammates could hear them.
“How’s the hunt today?” Xu Qing asked.
“Well, we’ve got some progress! How about you guys?”
“We only got to clear a little of the area. It might take us about half a month to completely stabilize the place.”
“Well, that’s already quick enough in my book!”
“So, I wonder if you’re interested in a team-up? With you by our side, we could do this a lot faster!”
“Nah, I still prefer to work alone.”
As they were talking, the others only followed them from behind with their mouths shut.
Xu Qing’s underlings, naturally, thought that Qin Feng was a load of crap. Even though he had destroyed the hive, this must have been done using some super-powered weaponry, not with his own might.
On the other hand, Yuan Xiaoguang and the others were baffled after hearing what Qin Feng said. He had completely wiped out the Dino Bees earlier and yet he said they had “some progress”.
Still, under normal circumstances, Xu Qing’s method of handling this was the way to go. First, they needed to be wary of the insectoids so that they would not come rioting at them en mass. After depleting their number to a certain extent, then they could strike out full force and lure out the emperor.
Thus, usually, it would take half a month to kill one insectoid emperor. If they could kill three emperors during the entire winter, this was already the best result humans could pull off.
And if they kept on doing this with three or four B-tiers holding several regions, they could then slowly but surely stabilize the whole region—they did not need to race against time because insectoids were not intelligent.
However, Qin Feng was doing it completely differently!
He went straight to the hive. He did not care for the other pawns that he encountered along the way. And then, with a few shots of weaponry that no one had ever seen on any market before, he had annihilated 90% of the hive. Then, all the rest was just dealing with the wounded pawns and the emperor and queen.
His hunt was legendary!
It went so smoothly that no one would believe it if they were to tell the story!
The two transports brought the two groups, who had different perspectives in their heads, to Dusan Central City.
“Here’s your rewards, gentlemen. And each one of you gets a bottle of the Dino Bees’ honey. Remember to mix them with other materials first before gulping them down. With the honey’s potent energy inside, your body would explode to pieces if you drink them as they are!”
Qin Feng handed the crystal cores to the six men and then gave them each a bottle of honey.
Of course, these were not the honey they got from within the queen bee’s hive—those were already stowed away by Bai Li!
“Thank you, Sir. Are you still heading to the basin tomorrow?” An E-tier aptitude user asked.
“Yeah, if you’re heading there again, could you bring us along again?”
“Sure. Let’s exchange contacts!”
Even Yuan Xiaoguang too called Qin Feng “sir” as they added his contact in their communicators.
After waiting for Xu Qing’s team to leave, Qin Feng then brought Bai Li forward to inspect their loot.
Ten minutes later, a loud announcement was sounded in the aptitude user lobby.
“Ding Dong! The fifth region’s status has changed!”
The fifth region, originally a red zone, had now become an orange zone.
“Status of operation to disarm C-tier Bee Hive: Success!”
“Leader of Operation: Qin Feng”
“Slayer of C3-tier Beast Emperor ‘Radiant Queen’: C-tier Aptitude User, Bai Li”
The news shocked many who were in the lobby.
Xu Qing, who had already gone back to the battlefield, too was speechless after hearing the news.
Did Qin Feng say that he only had “some progress” earlier? He was only being humble earlier!
“Geez, you can’t trust this kid at all! What a dishonest troll!” Xu Qing shook his head and smiled, not intending to ponder upon it any further.
Meanwhile, Quong Ting was welcoming guests at the aptitude user lobby; thus, naturally, she got the news too.
“This Qin Feng... is he really that strong?”
A flash of idea glimmered in her eyes.
“If he’s that strong... if I have a husband like that, the others would definitely envy me!”
“Dad can’t be counted on... but I could count on Qin Feng. Not only that, I heard that his organization is fairly wealthy too!”
She was mumbling to herself out loud—there were two C-tier aptitude users around her and they heard everything. They looked at one another before giving her a glare of contempt. These two were bodyguards that Quong Bo had hired to protect her. If it was not for the money, they would not even want to waste time on her.
They did not give her a piece of their minds though—because someone as great as Qin Feng would not even lay an eye at her! Qin Feng would see through her greedy, deceitful feint as soon as she approached him. The young man was no idiot after all.
Taking a sip of red wine, Quong Ting said, “Still, there’s a Bai Li always sticking close to him. She’s a bother. You two, go get rid of her!”
The two C-tier aptitude users frowned.
“Miss, it’s best that you come up with other plans. We can’t leave you alone. For your safety, we’re under orders to stick close to you. After you got kidnapped the last time, General Quong got so pissed at us and ordered us to never have you out of our sights!”
“Tsk! You’re so useless! How could you not be able to do such a small task?!” Quong Ting yelled at them furiously.
Even after facing her wrath, the bodyguards still stood there, not moving a muscle. Seeing that she could not order them around, Quong Ting stormed out of the lobby and back into her room furiously.
“Heh, you think I can’t do anything without you two? It’s easy. Just having her killed would do!”
Thus, Quong Ting switched on her communicator and put up a fifty-billion bounty on Bai Li’s head.
It did not take long before someone took up the task.
“Don’t you worry. We’ll have her head in seven days!”
Quong Ting smiled after seeing the message.
However, she did not know that on the other side... this group of men, a group not from the Huaxia Alliance, was holding a meeting to deal with this latest bounty. If Quong Ting was here with them, she would definitely recognize them.
These men were from the same group that kidnapped her before—Diran’s group, the Shinla Devils!
