Chapter 32: Wastrel

Chapter 32: Wastrel

Before immediately spitting it out.

Licking the insides of his mouth, Di Tou thought about it for a second. The water seemed fine, just a little bit sulfuric, but again, that was rather normal for non-purified water. Other then that the water was slightly cold, but not icy, just below room temperature perhaps.

All in all, it seemed safe. So, picking up his bowl Di Tou made his way back.

In an act that surprised himself, Di Tou didn\'t spill that much water on the way back. While his clothes were still somewhat wet, the actual water level in the bowl wasn\'t noticeably lower.

Thinking about it, Di Tou figured this should be because of his dexterity attribute, while the fact that his arms weren\'t sore from carrying the bowl on the way back was thanks to his strength attribute.

As for what the intelligence and spirituality attributes did, he still wasn\'t quite sure. After all, he didn\'t feel significantly smarter all of a sudden, so at the very least intelligence shouldn\'t relate to IQ, otherwise even if he was below average in the past with an 80 something IQ, now that it had tripled, he\'d be above Steven Hawkins, which didn\'t seem to be the case.

As for spirituality, since he had arrived that attribute had had the most growth both in terms of pure status points, as well as a multiple of its initial value, despite that Di Tou didn\'t particularly feel like anything had changed.

"Hmm, the intelligence should be easy enough to test later based off of what old man Mu said in passing, but spirituality… I don\'t even know where to start."

At this point, Di Tou had already made the connection between the fact that he was able to make this trip without feeling tired with the increase of his strength and dexterity, as he had made a similar trip before when he was visiting his grandparents.

At that time, he was maybe only 14 or 15 years old, and in his excitement wanted to try to do everything on his own. Near dinner time, his grandmother had run out of water while cooking and had sent his dad to go fetch some from the pump in the backyard.

Di Tou had shouted, "Grandma I\'ll do it! Di Tou is super strong!" and had sprinted out before anyone could stop him.

As a result, five minutes later Di Tou returned to the kitchen drenched both from sweat and spilling water on the way back, and his father still had to go and fetch water in the end.

While it was true he was of a smaller stature back then, and of somewhat limited strength due to being a child, he had also had to go a much smaller distance and operate a pump not a well, so it somewhat balanced out.

Either way, now that it was so evident how useful these attribute points were, it seemed rather imperative to establish some form of testing to better understand how they operated. Up to this point, while it would be untrue to say that Di Tou didn\'t really care about these points, he hadn\'t really adjusted his mindset to accept the world he was in.

After all, on earth, excluding the theories and fascination with the concept of super soldiers or strength serum, the realistic maximum capacity of a human wasn\'t that insane. The world record for the heaviest deadlift was around 500 kg or 1100 lbs, which was insane for sure, but was still something conceptualizable.

Even that level of strength required an insane amount of training and specific nutritional intake, dietary needs, and in most cases some level of medicinal help.

On the other hand, all he had done was drink some wine and he already grown almost five times in all attributes due to the fact that his original attributes were considered subpar.

Of course, the way Di Tou used the wine could be called feeding a pig caviar, as the amount of wasted energy that Di Tou let go by was insane. After all, he wasn\'t a cultivator and wasn\'t able to sense, guide, or control the attributes of the wine. In fact, he had simply fallen asleep.

In the right hands the wine could have easily given up to two hundred attribute points in each category, much less two. But alas, it had fallen into the hands of this country bumpkin Di Tou.

Of course, to the original owner of the wine Mu Di Bai, two and two hundred could all be considered negligible, in reality there were still many better wines out there for the sake of cultivation alone, but many of them became rather unpalatable in the pursuit of medicinal efficiency.

Void wine could be considered rather mellow in this aspect, as it focused more on harmonizing its ingredients which lead to a better taste and well-rounded effect, but in turn wasted a lot of the medicinal efficiency. Mu Di Bai simply kept it around because it tasted the best to him.

Of course, it could be considered wasted in this aspect as well for Di Tou as, well, he had passed out immediately without being able to savor the wine. But in a certain way it was rather fated, a wine that many people considered a waste of resources wasting resources being wasted in the hands of Di Tou.

Anyways, back to Di Tou.

Over the course of the last day, he had been mentally noting down things he wanted to purchase in order to make life more well, livable.

Then when he was raking leaves, he thought of a few more things that could be useful to him on the work side of things, new bags for instance, or at the very least a needle and thread to fix the one he already had.

Now that he was thinking about trying to make standard tests for his various attributes, he would need quite a few more things, and at this point it was getting hard to keep track of it all.

Heading back indoors, Di Tou went over to the writing desk to look for a paper and pen only to realize...
