Chapter 9: Lenart Became a Problem

Chapter 9: Lenart Became a Problem

I had finally accomplished my goal, and now it was time for me to settle the debt with Eman for his work. I quickly texted him, asking if he could meet me. He agreed without hesitation, and we arranged to meet at our secret hideout called Ipoz. It was an enormous abandoned factory deep within a secluded forest, known to only a few. This became our sanctuary, where we could freely converse and engage in activities without the fear of prying ears.

As we met at Ipoz, I noticed a hint of guilt on Eman\'s face. I began to worry that his previous mission had affected him mentally, possibly hindering his effectiveness. I berated myself for not recognizing this sooner.

"How am I going to fix this situation?" I pondered, frustration filling my mind.

Then, an idea struck me. I could influence Eman by using false information to ensure his loyalty remained intact. With that in mind, I praised him for a job well done and handed him $150. As he laid eyes upon the money, a villainous smile spread across Eman\'s face.

That smile became my most potent weapon against him—money. Eman had an insatiable obsession with wealth, and I realized I could exploit this to my advantage. I felt a certain satisfaction knowing that this beast could be tamed with money.

"This is just the beginning, Eman. In due time, you will pile up enough money to fill an entire pool with it," I assured him with a smile.

"As long as you make me a lot of bank, I\'ll do whatever you ask, Dionis," Eman replied.

"Remember, Eman, in the name of Dionis Asani, I will one day grant you paradise. Never forget my words, for I have never broken them."

"Yeah, sure, whatever you say, bro," Eman responded dismissively.

After our meeting, I headed home, only to find a police car parked in front of my house. Panic surged through me as I entered the house, my heart pounding. When i entered the house, two police officers awaited me, while my parents bombarded me with questions, demanding to know what I had done. Frozen with fear, I couldn\'t muster a response.

The police officers interjected, inquiring if I knew a person named Lenart.

"Isn\'t that the guy I stole money and a watch from?" I thought, but my reply veered in a different direction. "Oh, yes, I encountered him yesterday while I was out jogging. He seemed rushed, so we didn\'t exchange many words. Why? what\'s up with him?" I replied, feigning ignorance.

"Well, nothing significant, except that he was nearly killed shortly after meeting you," one officer disclosed.

"Is that so..." I trailed off, realizing the magnitude of the situation.

"fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!" that\'s what was going throughout my mind at that time.

"That fucking Lenart is going to be a big problem, I need to get rid of him as soon as possible" i toughed to myself mercilessly

While in deep thought, one of the officers revealed something, intensifying my fear. "Yes, and you are our main suspect,"

"Is this how I get caught? How could I have been so reckless? If only I hadn\'t given that order to Eman," I lamented internally.

My mother burst into tears and fiercely defended me, shouting at the police officers, "My son would never do such a thing, you pigs!"

I mustered the courage to ask the officers if they had any evidence, to which they replied negatively.

"So these pigs don\'t have any leads on me. Sigh, I was worried for nothing," I reassured myself silently.

My father, then, demanded that the officers leave our premises since they entered without a warrant. It was evident that my parents harbored suspicions toward me, which was understandable given the circumstances. It\'s only natural since that was the first time in my life I went jogging in that forest road.

They questioned why I had chosen to jog in that specific forest road at that time. It was a big coincidence, making it difficult to fabricate a convincing lie. However, I had prepared myself beforehand, ready to spin a tale that would allay their suspicions.

"My friend is trying to lose weight" I explained calmly. "He asked me to accompany him on a jog, and I couldn\'t refuse. You know how important it is to help our friends when they\'re in need, Mom, Dad."

My parents fell for it since it\'s in our tradition to always help our friends if they need the help. That was good in my part, I made up a good lie. It was a relief to see them accept my fabricated story. For now, at least, I no longer had to worry about their lingering doubts. But I knew it was only a matter of time before the police would become involved again.

"I have to be more cautious next time, or there may not be a next time for me," I thought to myself, acutely aware of the risks I was taking.

I decided to take a break for a week or two, allowing the police investigation to lose momentum. During this period, I sent a message to Eman, issuing a new order:

"Eman find someone with a lot of connections, I need him as soon as possible. Do you understand?"

Eman responded instantly, his message tinged with a playful tone, "Sure thing, bro! But why do you need a guy like that? Planning to have him help you get some bitches or what hahahaha ;)"

"Don\'t ask questions, just do your job, fool. And while you\'re at it, do not mention my name to anyone, or ill fucking cut your tongue out" I cautioned, stressing the seriousness of my command.

"chill bro I get it... your no fun ;(" he replied, adding a playful emoji.

...

...

A week went by, and now I stood outside the hospital where Lenart was in, I was ready to shut him up with my cunning words...
