Chapter 97 19: The Capital’s Beast Awakens
Chapter 97 Chapter 19: The Capital\'s Beast Awakens
Somewhere in the Royal Palace.
"Mother... I heard that my sister has been spotted to the south and seems to have become prettier.." A young woman spoke with a mediocre face closer to the ugly side, and a beautiful woman sitting on the throne with the King was nowhere in sight.
"Do not worry, my dear—Mother will make everything alright."
"Dalton!"
"Knight Dalton! Come to this room immediately!"
Inside the palace walls was the queen, a woman with dark brown hair and a pretty face, and beside her was a slightly average girl with a mole on her nose as the pair watched a crystal ball with grim faces before a middle-aged knight with a stocky build entered the throne room.
"Your majesty?"
"We\'ve confirmed it! My husband\'s filthy daughter is heading towards the border and seems to be seeking to enter the Capital! Knight Dalton, prepare to set out immediately and kill her!" Queen Caroline ordered with a stern tone, causing Dalton to frown slightly as he inquired, "Are you sure that killing her is the right move? It wouldn\'t be wise to offend the King now with war brewing."
"Are you doubting my words as my most trusted knight, Dalton?"
She flashed a seductive gaze, the handsome middle-aged knight showing a look to the right, seeing the princess and the similarities between them causing his heart to ache... a moment\'s mistake caused him to betray his King and dearest friend to give birth to a cuckoo princess.
Queen Caroline knew Dalton harboured guilt after discovering his betrayal, but he could only blame her beauty and not realising her plans beforehand.
So he replied with a deep bow, "This servant will listen to your every word without question, your highness. Please instruct me."
\'Hmph! What a loyal dog...\' Caroline sneered, looking at Dalton with a look of contempt before ordering, "Go and gather your knights to deal with my husband\'s filthy daughter—I don\'t care if she dies or not, just keep her out of the Capital! Go, quickly!"
Dalton nodded with a serious expression before turning around to leave the throne room. Caroline then turned her attention to the princess beside her with a gentle smile, Hmph! Soon, I will have my revenge! Caroline thought with a cold gaze, stroking her daughter\'s cheek lovingly, "Do not worry, my dear—Mother will make everything alright..."
Damn bitch... If you were not the seed of Dalton, would I be like this now?
Treading on eggshells until he dies! Caroline cursed inwardly, thinking about how she planned to use Dalton to usurp the throne many years ago...
Then she gave birth to a Princess who had Dalton\'s appearance and features instead of the King, causing doubt and making her delay her plans even after getting rid of Gwendolyn, but Caroline\'s intelligence prevented anyone from realising the truth...
"Well, let\'s pick a nice boy for you to enjoy today. But remember, always use protection."
"Mother... I want that silver-haired man, is he coming too? He looks delicious..."
Gwendolyn\'s half-sister had become obsessed with Lucifer even more after they managed to scry a scene where he was bathing naked in a forest river—seeing him naked made her world change forever...
Even Caroline wanted to taste him.
Meanwhile, Dalton rode on horseback towards the Capital\'s gate along with 20 elite knights of the Kingdom—their goal was to prevent Gwendolyn from entering the capital city at all costs and to stop her from learning the truth about what happened all those years ago.
Sadly... they didn\'t have all the information needed.
The time they clashed with the church hero would lead Dalton to make a difficult choice between brotherhood and his twisted affection for Caroline.

? Lucifer POV ?
As Dalton and his knights galloped towards the Capital\'s southern gate, Lucifer, Gwendolyn, and Lilith were standing on the stone walls of Rinvale with more than fifty adventurers beside them, all armed and equipped with their best armour as the battle was close.
Despite Lucifer killing almost a thousand orcs... today\'s number was once again nearly five thousand as they destroyed, chopped and burned the forest on their long march to destroy the village, capture healthy men to work as slaves or make meat and women to increase their number and make their wives.
"Are you all ready, arrows, potions and anything you might need ready?" Lucifer asked his cute wives, not letting them be apart from him. He was standing with the full party who had benefited from his battle the day before, now four levels stronger each.
Gwendolyn, Estella, Lephalia, Irina, Fel, and, in the shadows, Marina were here for combat today. Layna hadn\'t given her answer yet, so he didn\'t force her to come... but the knights who followed her were now to the far left of Lucifer and his group, led by the bitter-looking Rembrandt.
"Yes, Luci~ We\'re ready," Gwendolyn replied sweetly, hugging his arm tightly before she pulled back and took out her black spear, standing to Lucifer\'s right due to his range and attack style, to avoid getting in his way, while Lephalia and Irina were to the far left of him, to cover his flank if needed.
Fel and Estella were behind Lucifer, covering his rear and Gwendolyn\'s sides. Marina was somewhere nearby, scouting ahead in her shadowy form... Lucifer felt very safe with his women and wives protecting him, chuckling to himself, \'What a joke—I am the one protecting them.\'
Lucifer smiled warmly, giving each of the girls a kiss on their lips one by one before whispering in their ears, "Don\'t die~ I love you all.~"
His words made them blush like tomatoes, especially Gwendolyn, who was giddy with excitement as she blushed like never before, hugging Lucifer tightly, "Luci~ I love you too!" Gwendolyn exclaimed loudly, kissing him deeply before pulling away with a bright smile, ignoring everyone\'s stares, including Lilith, who was staring daggers at her.
The biggest reason he couldn\'t just use the Crimson Bloodline like yesterday was that he didn\'t know when the 70th Lord would strike and needed to keep his eyes and senses open during the entire fight if she was allowed to unleash some of her power, most of the people here would die in seconds.
But Lucifer was confident in winning as long as she didn\'t bring out her trump card, which she would probably do when she realised the battle was lost.
Hopefully, we\'ll find her first... Lucifer thought calmly, knowing how hard tracking down a skilled Lord would be in a crowd of thousands.
A horn sounded in the deep of the forest, with the knights and warriors all getting agitated as the ground and resounding sound from their mere marching echoed all the way to the village walls.
"Luci~ They\'re here~," Gwendolyn said nervously, gripping her spear tightly before leaning against Lucifer\'s chest, seeking comfort as she tried to hide her fear... his gentle hand and soothing aura allowed all of them to relax.
"Don\'t worry, just fight like you would a normal monster—remember to protect your sisters before all others, even me! I don\'t want you all getting hurt." Lucifer smiled gently as he stepped onto the top of the wall, his hands high above his head, as a huge storm of flames began to form a huge fireball above him.
"I will thin them out." He said with a sexy, deep and confident voice that boosted the morale of both his lover and the knights who watched as the huge flaming balls rained down on the orcs in the distance, exploding in big bursts of flames as screams and roars of pain were heard across the field as dozens died instantly.
Lucifer didn\'t stop, his body tensing as he continued to cast fireball repeatedly, the feeling of using mana rapidly making him dizzy and a little sick, but if he could kill even one hundred, he would!
After ten casts, Lucifer stopped, falling back to avoid dropping to his knee with sweat covering his forehead. Lucifer smiled, grabbing his weapon, ready for combat.
Buuurrr!
This time, it was the orc\'s Warhorn blowing!
The true battle had begun.
Lucifer stood proudly atop the Village walls with Gwendolyn, Lephalia, Irina, Fel, Estella and Marina, watching as the orcs began rushing out from the forest, screaming like banshees as they charged towards the wooden gates with reckless abandon!
"FIRE ARROWS!" Lucifer shouted, signalling the archers on the village walls to start firing their arrows, dozens of archers releasing volley after volley of arrows from the tall wooden wall into the charging orcs below.
Because he was the Hero, there were some soldiers assigned to him, so he chose all archers to support him and his women, with soldiers just getting in the way. He grabbed his spear, dashed towards the edge of the wall, and dove into the air with huge raven wings that sprouted before he swooped down at them like a deadly hawk.
"I\'m Coming!"
Behind him, Gwen turned silver and followed as the pair twirled around each other, both spearmen and flying at high speeds as they tore apart the orcs with their beautiful dance of death.
