Chapter 366: Let’s Play Detective
“Let’s do this.” Compass Carburettor said.
“Then, I’ll go first.” Grisha said, “Just in case it doesn’t work, retract the Warble in me.”
“Alright.” Compass Carburettor nodded, “Remember that it’s 15 years old.”
“I know.” Grisha nodded as she closed her eyes, placing her hand on her forehead as soon after, a kite-shaped object resembling Darble appeared. It was her Warble.
Of course, Compass Carburettor had also Bestowed it to her, allowing her to revive without problems.
Similarly, he had done the same to Stencil too. Since she was his daughter, making her a member of Secret Society was too easy. And surprisingly, his abilities were effective on her too.
He even took out a Coordinate from the Dimensional Space, reducing his strength by a tenth as he placed that in Stencil, Bestowing her all his powers. This way, even without his help, Stencil’s Martial Spirit might be able to do something to her situation.
There was also Gana there with all his abilities. So, he didn’t need to be around her to cure her. This was where he was glad to have become the Main Character.
And with the Warble, no matter what happens, Stencil would be able to revive through it.
Reviving with the Warble obviously had limitations. First was the size of the body. If the body chosen was smaller than the size of the Warble owner’s body, then revival wouldn’t be possible.
Only a half-finished corpse would form. The Warble would have to be taken out from it and implanted into another creature again to form a proper revival.
Though, this was only in the case of severe size differences, like suppose they tried to revive using a rat’s body.
If it was something along the lines of a dog’s body, then they would revive as a toddler. There were some other factors to consider too, and that was the age of the body used.
Suppose they used an old dog’s body, the cells in it would be gradually losing their cell division count, failing to create a proper body for revival.
It would be tiny, but an old body.
So, they needed some considerations to create a perfect revival. Typically, using a body bigger than their requirements would ensure a flawless revival.
As that wasn’t their objective, the ones Compass Carburettor had captured were not only young, but they were also small enough among Origin Beasts.
Grisha pulled out the Warble that had appeared on her forehead, collapsing like a robot whose batteries had been removed.
After she obtained the Warble, the entirety of Grisha’s existence had moved into it. So, once it was removed, her body turned into a corpse in an instant.
Compass Carburettor took the Warble and gently placed it on the forehead of the Origin Beast on the left.
Typically, only the flesh of the body was necessary to sculpt their body during the revival process. Gender was irrelevant.
But, since all their powers were getting sealed, Compass Carburettor didn’t take any chances, selecting a female Origin Beast for Grisha and a male for himself.
The moment the Warble was placed on the Origin Beast’s forehead, its body trembled minutely for a dozen seconds before stopping, “That was fast.”
Basically, both Grisha and the Origin Beast had battled in its mind. And, Grisha easily won the battle as its body showed signs of change, slowly beginning to turn into a human.
An hour later, the body of Grisha finished forming, turning into her fifteen-year-old self, flashing her eyes open as she got up before staring at the figure of Compass Carburettor, blushing in response, “…Teenage hormones.”
“Hahaha!” He laughed in response, gently patting her head, “It feels better to see you this way.”
“Naked?”
“No, I mean in this innocent self with unconcealed emotions.” Compass Carburettor coughed as he slowly caused his Warble to appear while Grisha changed into the set of clothes already prepared for her.
She frowned, “These clothes aren’t as comfortable as those from my world. The fabric is good, but the design isn’t battle-efficient. It also doesn’t hold my chest firmly like a bra.”
“Best to blend in with the world we’re in.” He smiled before removing his Warble, causing his body to collapse to the ground.
Grisha grabbed hold of his Warble and placed it on the other Origin Beast’s forehead, watching its body tremble mildly for a second before stopping, “Damn, he’s a monster!”
She then watched his body slowly beginning to form, soon after taking an innocent appearance. “It seems puberty hit him a bit late. He looks like a child.”
Compass Carburettor slowly woke up, muttering, “I feel weaker than usual.”
“The seal’s working faster. A few more hours, and all System-based abilities would be fully sealed.” Grisha replied. She then stared at his naked self, flustering him, grinning as she said, “It’ll take time to control our raging teenage hormones.”
“That’ll be hard.” Compass Carburettor said, “But that’ll also work in our favour.”
He then focused, observing his appearance before condensing Mental Energy Body Layer, making some minor adjustments to it to make it resemble a cloth that he could wear and remove, “Great, it has enough elasticity too. It’ll last even after I become an adult.”
He quickly made a dozen copies of the same Mental Energy clothes, storing them in his spatial pouch. Thanks to the trait of Permanence, they existed as material objects. As Mental Energy was soft even after solidified, it was perfect to be used as clothes.
Moreover, it provided them protection against the abilities of Systems. And in this case, it was against the innate effect of their luck.
“Besides, there are also other surprises waiting.” He smiled while gazing at the pile of tiny spheres within the spatial pouch. They were filled to the brim with Dust Wave, one made to target everyone other than himself and Grisha.
The spheres were just energy blades that he made weak enough to break upon impact. “I’ll show you the extent of my preparations.”
Compass Carburettor then wore a pair of clothes over the jet-black skin-tight, Mental Energy clothes, watching Grisha replicate his actions. Currently, each of them wore two spatial pouches, possessing all the items that they required in the subsequent battles.
Grisha then looked at their corpses, “What shall we do with them?”
“Oh, we’ll greet the System Hosts with a great scene.” Compass Carburettor grinned, “We’ll start by playing detective.”
