Chapter 373: Plot Significance
“It’s alright.” Compass Carburettor smiled in response, “I was waiting for you anyway.”
Ranze felt puzzled at his words before noticing familiarities in facial features between Compass Carburettor and the boy before him. But, their manner of speaking was the exact same, causing him to understand that both of them were indeed the same individual.
“You also look completely different when young.” Ranze said in surprise as he gazed at Grisha, “If I didn’t forget you capturing me after turning me into a dumpling, I would have assumed you’re a naïve, innocent girl now.”
“I’m indeed a naïve, innocent girl.” Grisha said shamelessly, “And I don’t remember what you’re talking about. That wasn’t me. It was my elder sister.”
“Wait, this…” For a moment, Ranze was indeed confused, pointing at her as he thought she was someone else.
After all, in her adult version, Grisha resembled someone that had been fighting for many centuries, having seen enough death and destruction that she was numb to everything. It was not to mention that even her casual gaze contained enough killing intent to cause a mortal to faint.
In comparison, the current, teenage Grisha appeared no different to a fifteen-year-old girl that had a sheltered upbringing.
“Gahrat is my father.” Compass Carburettor said, “I’m Hazen. Nice to meet you, Ranze.”
‘So, that’s the setting they’re going with.’ Ranze nodded before cupping his fist in response, “A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Hazen, and…”
He then looked at Grisha, trailing off.
“Call me Lanela,” Grisha said.
“Please go easy on me, Lanela.” Ranze smiled, cupping towards her in response.
“Are you coming with me to my Clan?” He asked next.
“That’s the plan.” Compass Carburettor nodded, “Even though there would be some annoyances involved there, it’s also the best way to keep in touch with the latest information. Cultivating in seclusion would make me a sitting duck once my enemies begin to move.”
“When do you think they would make a move? Have they already arrived here?” Ranze asked.
“Yep, they’re already in this world now.” Compass Carburettor nodded, “For the past few minutes, I’m unable to use any of my abilities. From now on, I’ll have to depend entirely on my cultivation to fight.”
“And, our fighting strength at the Origin refinement Stage isn’t much. Too many variables can affect us.” Compass Carburettor continued, “So, my best bet is that they would begin moving once they reach the peak of the Origin Refinement Stage in search of powerful fusion materials. We’ll clash with them during our search for fusion materials too.”
“Thankfully, that means we have some time to prepare.” Ranze sighed in relief, “It’ll be hard for the Giant Whale Sect to buy my excuse if I begin fighting immediately after sending them that letter. They’ll start chasing after my life once again.”
Of course, the conversation shared between Elder Galda and the Giant Whale Sect Master was spied upon by the Spydragon. He had planted a Spydragon on every individual that had attended the banquet at Xuer’s Martial Spirit Awakening.
That was how he confirmed that the Giant Whale Sect would no longer bother with Ranze. And similarly, Compass Carburettor was also assured to see Old Zen keeping up with his promise, instructing his family members to do the same while beginning preparations to establish his Clan.
Unfortunately, it seemed Darlac wasn’t recognised by the Gaider Realm. So, Compass Carburettor would be unable to rely upon such means of convenience as before.
He had actually prepared a Darble Awakening Crystal, storing it in the spatial bag, along with a dozen mini Spydragons to use in the case he awakened Darlac in him.
Unfortunately, the moment the Restriction Order fully took effect, and when even his racial advantage as a Spirit was sealed, he came to realise that using Darlac was impossible in the Gaider Realm or any other Realm part of this world.
After all, there was no race like the Spirits here. The same went for Haggons too. Their race, their abilities, and their powers weren’t recognised here. The Darble Awakening Crystal too turned into a scrap immediately after.
It was unfortunate, but this disadvantage placated Compass Carburettor’s worries instead. After all, this meant that the Systems too wouldn’t be able to bring in a mysterious power not belonging to this world to gain an advantage over him.
This implied that the playing field was fair this time. Even though his opponents were blessed by their respective System Luck, he also possessed his innate Main Character Luck now.
Ranze could be addressed as the main character of this cultivation world while Xuer would be the female lead.
After conversing with Ranze, Compass Carburettor further felt that Xuer would play a large role.
It was because Ranze didn’t like Harems, nor did he seek to create one, declaring with confidence that Xuer would be the only one he had eyes upon.
This meant that the female lead would actually be significant, unlike the female leads in a harem setting where they would be treated like Pokemon, discarded once they had been captured and turned irrelevant further into the plot, despite how overpowered they were at the time of appearance.
It could simply be declared that the fate of the female lead was dispersed among the harem members, making them weaker opponents against Systems.
But now, as long as Ranze showed no harem protagonist tendencies, Xuer would be a formidable opponent.
After all, in their battle with the Systems, other than their Martial Spirits and fighting abilities, they would also be competing with two major factors.
Luck!
Fate!
Suppose their current scenario was turned into a story, the significance they had towards the plot was what determined the victor of this battle.
Whether it was the quartet consisting of two protagonists or System Hosts blessed with overwhelming luck; who would win?
And that was what would be made clear eventually.
The trio marched into the wilderness on horseback as Compass Carburettor finished stating his conjecture, “We’ll know our plot significance by the end of our first clash.”
