Chapter 153 - 153 It’s complicated.

She needed to see him with her eyes to know how worse his condition was at this point. She was afraid that the time she wanted to avoid the most is nearing.

If the current Emperor passes away, the situation might become chaotic for Zheng Liang. She still needs some time to make him believe in her completely, she cannot afford for things to go wrong for her at this point.

If she dies here, she doesn’t even know if she will be able to go back into her world or not.

Zheng Liang nodded and said, ” If you want to visit His Majesty, I will make some time tomorrow and we can go together to meet him. Because it will be quite late after I am over with the court meetings.”

Yang Ning was surprised that he wanted to accompany her to meet the Emperor. She was thinking of going to meet the Emperor alone because he seems to be stuck with court work.

But she was pleased when he said he would make some time to come with her to visit His Majesty’s chamber to ask about his wellness.

“Yes. I will wait for your message then.” She said,

Since he is quite busy, she needs to wait for his notice about when they could go to meet His Majesty.

.....

It’s like getting an appointment with her husband to meet him. It sounds ridiculous but not in this case because her husband is no ordinary man but the Crown Prince of the Empire.

He is the busiest man at the moment because he has been handling the responsibilities of His Majesty as well.

____

The next day, Yang Ning was dressed and was waiting for Zheng Liang’s message to visit His Majesty together. The whole day passed and the sun was about to set, however, no one has come yet to inform her when she can visit His Majesty.

“Milady, would you like to have fruits?” Xiaowei asked Yang Ning because she didn’t even have her lunch properly and barely ate anything in the afternoon.

She didn’t even take a nap after lunch and was busy writing something on paper. What is she writing with so much diligence that she doesn’t even have time to look up at her?

Yang Ning didn’t raise her head to look at Xiaowei and shook her head while writing something on the paper and said, “I am not hungry. Did His Highness come back from the royal court yet?” She asked.

Xiaowei pursed her lips, feeling bad for her lady who has been waiting for His Highness the whole day, and said, ” The court session seems to be longer than usual today. I will inform you as soon as His Highness comes back.”

“Alright! You can go.” Yang Ning waved her hand at Xiaowei and gestured to her to go back and not disturb her further.

After Xiaowei leaves the chamber, Yang Ning bites the wooden-pointed stick that she was using to write on the paper, between her teeth while looking at the paper in a daze.

Since many things have been happening differently than in the novel that she was reading before coming into this world, she decided to take note of the things so that she could understand the pattern of the events that were happening around her.

It’s been over five months since she came into this world. In these five months, she married Zheng Liang and became the Crown Princess of the Empire.

However, despite spending five months in this world, she couldn’t figure out the reason why and how she came into this world, nor could she find the way back to her home.

If things continue like this, she will not be able to return to her world forever.

“Hmm! It’s so complicated.” She sighed looking at the contents that she had written on the paper in her messy-clumsy writing.

The novel started after one year of the marriage of Zheng Liang and Yang Ning and there were only a few instances in which the past year’s incidents were mentioned in the novel to give the background of the story.

However, the phase she is going through, it was the same phase about which she has the least information.

Why did she arrive in this world one year before the novel starts? It’s as if having no information about it whatsoever.

“According to the novel, I shouldn’t be staying in the crown prince’s chamber but in the guest chamber at the dragon pavilion. Not only that, if we go by the novel, Zheng Liang shouldn’t be treating me this way and rather avoid me like a plague and should be loathing me.” She murmured while looking at the scribbles she made on the paper.

“It means that I am somewhat successful in changing the course of the story and making Zheng Liang believe in me instead of hating. If rather than supporting Yang Luoyang in the novel, I support Zheng Liang, does that mean I could avoid my tragic fate?” She pursed her lips thinking about how she could change her tragic end and not die in the end.

Didn’t Yang Ning die because she was accused of poisoning Zheng Liang’s lover and was proven guilty in the end?

‘However, is it really that easy?’ She was lost in deep thought, wondering if it was that easy to change the main plot of the story. She has Yang Ning’s painful memories and a vague idea of the events that occur during this period of time in the story.

Even if she succeeds in changing the story of the novel, can she return to her world as if nothing happened? Can she really do that?

While Yang Ning was rummaging through her brain to think of a way to go back to her world safely and alive, the large door of the chamber was pushed open without her realizing it.

“Argh! I will go crazy at this point. Why is it so complicated?” She wriggled on the chair and cried out in frustration while holding the paper in her hands.

“What is so complicated?” She was startled when she heard a male voice, surprising her.

“Oh My!” She exclaimed in shock as she almost fell down the chair in startle. She looked to her side and placed a hand on her chest to calm down her racing heart and said, “Your Highness! What are you doing here? When did you come inside?” She asked in disbelief.

Zheng Liang was amused to see her looking at him in shock and found her startled reaction entertaining.

It was better than a made-up polite reaction that he gets to witness from the other people in the palace. At least her reaction was new and refreshing to look at.

He cleared his throat and said, ” I came when you were crying out in frustration while holding the paper. I thought that you would be waiting for me, it looks like you were doing something important.” He said with his eyes fixated on the paper that Yang Ning was holding in her hands.

Yang Ning frowned and immediately hid the paper behind her back. “I was indeed waiting for you to arrive so that we could go and visit His Majesty. If you’re over with the royal court responsibilities, can we go now to meet His Majesty?” She asked to distract his attention from the paper to her.

Zheng Liang nodded and said, ” Yes. That’s why I came to take you to the Main Palace with me. If you’re ready, we can leave right away.” He said.

Yang Ning nodded and said, ” I am ready. Let’s go.” She put down the paper on the table and pressed it down a jade paperweight before standing up from the chair.

“We will go, but in a minute. By the way, what were you writing that you were so engrossed in your thoughts that you didn’t realize when I came in the chamber and was standing next to you?” He said while picking up the paper that Yang Ning pressed down with the paperweight to see its content.

“Wait. You should not read that.” Yang Ning screamed and was shocked when Zheng Liang suddenly picked up the paper to take a look at it.

‘Damn it! You’re doomed, Fang Li.’ She screamed in her head and covered her face with her palms in shock.
