Chapter 138: Time Halt, Parting Ways

Chapter 138: Time Halt, Parting Ways

“This is Pandora, eh?”

Everyone was amazed as they stood in the dense primitive jungle and observed the magical scenery around them.

There were towering trees shaped like mushrooms and magical never-before-seen flora.

Not forgetting, the majestic floating mountains!

Everything was completely different from Earth but equally magnificent and majestic. The planet was full of exotic and unique beauty, stunning to everyone’s eyeballs.

“It’s so beautiful!” some students exclaimed in amazement.

“It really is beautiful, more beautiful than the photos!”

It stunned Ling Jiu, too. What he saw in the photos was lifeless, but what he saw with his own eyes were all living things. It was a completely distinct feeling.

“There is rich Gene Arcana here. I’ll definitely ascend to Level 6 in a short time if I can practice self-cultivation here.”

“What a beautiful planet!”

“I really want to live here. It would be an extraordinary experience.”

“Indeed! Choose a floating mountain and build a villa on it. It’d be no different from the fairy legends.”

“Stop it, I can’t stop drooling!”

“Will it be available for human habitation after the colonization? I wonder what’s the requirement to live here.”

Ling Jiu, Ai Yuhe, and Yang Ling’er looked at each other, and a sense of superiority rose in them when they heard the yearning trainees.

They already had the right to live freely on this planet.

“Yuhe, is that you?”

A slightly surprised voice came from behind Ling Jiu. He turned his head and saw a tall trainee with a well-proportioned body approaching them.

The trainee was wearing an air filter mask, so it was difficult to make out his face, but his voice was magnetic. He seemed to be a handsome guy.

“Are you Hao Shuai?”

Yuhe’s eyes lit up.

“I’m so happy that you recognized me at once.”

The guy was very pleased. “I wanted to come and visit you a long time ago, but I’ve been so tied up with things. Now that I’ve finally had time, I immediately came over.”

“I didn’t expect to see you here!”

Ai Yuhe was also thrilled. “By the way, it’s been almost a year since we left school.”

“Yeah, we haven’t seen each other for a year although we’ve been keeping in touch.”

Hoa Shuai continued, “Yuhe, we should have a good chat with each other since we’ve finally met here. I have so many things to tell you.”

“I’ll buy you dinner when things are over.” Ai Yuhe smiled.

“I look forward to it.”

Hao Shuai paused, then added, “By the way, Yuhe, do you want to team up with me? I’m sure we’ll have good synergy.”

“It’s okay,” Ai Yuhe politely declined.

“That’s a shame!”

Hao Shuai looked regretful. “I’ll leave now if that’s the case. You take care. We can have a heart-to-heart talk when we get back.”

“All right.”

Ai Yuhe looked on as Hao Shuai left, the trace of a smile lingering on her face. She was evidently thrilled.

“Who is he? Your relationship with him seems unusual.” Ling Jiu hissed.

“You mean Hao Shuai?”

Ai Yuhe was taken aback, and she smiled. “He was my childhood playmate.”

“Childhood sweetheart?”

The way Ling Jiu spoke sounded strange.

“Jealous?”

Ai Yuhe chuckled with her hand over her mouth.

“You think too much.” Ling Jiu’s mouth twitched. “You’re the woman I like. You better keep a distance from other men.”

“You’re too much. I’m not your girlfriend!” Ai Yuhe hissed back. “Besides, even if I become your girlfriend, you can’t interfere with my circle of friends.”

“Not if you guys become too intimate!” Ling Jiu snorted.

“So that guy is Hao Shuai, Yuhe?” Yang Ling’er quickly interjected when she noticed things starting to heat up. There was a tendency for things to go from bad to worse.

“Yes, he is.”

Ai Yuhe nodded. “Who would have thought that the slug back then would possess such a terrific talent. I think he should be powerful now.”

“He’s certainly not weak.”

Yang Ling’er nodded. “Hao Shuai is the most terrific talent in Chang’an Base City this year. Had his father not been a high-level officer of the Arcanist Freedom Alliance, he would have definitely joined Pangu.”

“Yeah, his talent is much better than yours and mine. I still remember when he was doing the Arcana tests in school. It caused a stir!”

“Pangu, Vulcan, the military, and other Arcana combines even fought each other to recruit Hao Shuai.”

Ai Yuhe smiled and looked at Ling Jiu abruptly. “Ling Jiu, fortunately, Hao Shuai joined the Freedom Alliance. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made it into the training camp.”

“Oh, really?”

Ling Jiu grunted.

“You really can’t compare to Hao Shuai with the talent you showcased back then.”

Ai Yuhe nodded. “He has triple Arcanas of Time Halt, Super Physique, and Blink! Your initial talent didn’t even come close.”

“Time Halt?” Ling Jiu was shaken.

“Yup, Time Halt.”

Ai Yuhe’s expression was a little strange. “He could pause time for one second the first time he awakened his Arcana. He should be much stronger after joining the Arcanist Freedom Alliance and receiving training.”

“What impressive abilities he has there!”

Ling Jiu was licking his lips. He had not even heard of the Time Arcana before. The ability to manipulate time was a terrific Arcana after all.

People used to say that there was no rubbish Arcana, only lousy Arcanists. Ling Jiu used to believe in this golden rule, but now it seemed that he had to overthrow it.

Different Arcanas had different levels of strength. Special Arcanas such as Dimensional and Time Arcanas were more powerful than ordinary manipulative Arcanas; the difference was absolute and huge.

One controlled metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, while the other controlled time and dimensions. Were their strengths the same?

The answer was no.

“Time Halt!”

Ling Jiu murmured to himself, “It’s absolutely terrifying, even if time just pauses for a second. Masters often only need one second to turn a fight around. One second is too long in a fight.”

“Are you coveting Hao Shuai’s Arcanas, Ling Jiu?”

How could Ai Yuhe not know what he was thinking when she saw him whispering to himself?

“Why? You look as if you feel bad for him.” Ling Jiu was not too happy.

“You look like a thief when you replicate others’ Arcanas. You’ve stolen my Arcana before. Now you are planning to steal Hao Shuai’s!”

Ai Yuhe rolled her eyes, becoming a little irate. “That is so ungentlemanly of you!”

“How can you say that I’m stealing when I’m doing the replication openly?” Ling Jiu shrugged.

“Do you know what the people in the chat group say about you? They say that you are no different from a bank robber by secretly replicating others’ Arcanas.” Ai Yuhe snorted.

“I was a thief a while ago. Now I’ve become a robber?”

Ling Jiu nodded. “So that’s how you see me, right? Okay, I totally get it now!” Ling Jiu was about to leave.

“Where are you going?” Ai Yuhe was taken aback.

“I’m a thief and even a robber now. I’m not worthy of a high-class crowd like you! Don’t talk to me in the future, lest I tarnish your image since I’m a thief and a robber. People like me aren’t worthy to be the friend of someone high and mighty like you.” Ling Jiu grunted and teleported himself away.

“Come back!”

Ai Yuhe stomped her feet in anger. “What crap are you talking about? That’s what someone else said, not me! What’s wrong with you?”

“Uh-oh, it looks like Brother is angry.” Yang Ling’er did not know what else to say.

“Ling’er, what is the matter with your brother? What wrong have I done?”

Ai Yuhe’s eyes turned red from anger. “He gets angry with me for no reason. I have done nothing wrong to him.”
