Chapter 140: 40-Meter Saber, Terrifyingly Powerful

Chapter 140: 40-Meter Saber, Terrifyingly Powerful

Little was known about this blue whale monster. But judging by the defensive ability it showed, it was more terrifying than most Class-Seven Direbeasts on Earth.

Who were these people standing around?

They were all Level-4 and Level-5 arcanists.

No wonder they could not inflict the slightest harm to this blue whale monster.

So Francis thought that of all the people at the scene, he was the only one who could kill this blue whale monster.

Just as he was about to make his move with his confidence going through the roof, a voice came.

“Step aside. That thing is mine!”

“Huh?”

Francis was stunned. He looked in the voice’s direction and saw a figure lunging out of the crowd, walking on water towards the blue whale monster.

“This guy looks familiar.” Francis couldn’t help looking at Han Chujun. “Is he your high school classmate?”

“It looks like him.” Han Chujun frowned. She could not be sure as Ling Jiu was wearing an air filter mask.

“Forget it. Whoever he is,”—Francis shrugged it off—”I am going to pocket this blue whale monster, anyway. No one except me can kill it!”

“Where is that guy from? Didn’t he see that so many of us had failed to kill this blue whale monster? He thinks he can do it alone?”

“Let him try. He will learn the hard way and embarrass himself.”

“Maybe you are right.”

Shi Gang sneered when he heard their conversation. “How dare they belittle Ling Jiu? But, yeah, ignorance is a bliss.”

“They will shut up soon,” Dylon said.

“I am sure they will.” Shi Gang nodded in agreement.

“I am in a bad mood today!” Ling Jiu came in front of the blue whale monster, his eyes full of violence. “I need to vent my anger, and I’ll start with you!”

The blue whale monster let out a bizarre, low roar as it raised its claws in the air to strike at Ling Jiu.

This claws strike came with horrifying strength that it could even smash a Class-Seven Direbeast into dead meat.

“Here goes!”

Instead of dodging, Ling Jiu performed Tungsten Form and met the monster with a punch.

“What?”

“What the heck is he doing? Take the blue whale monster head-on? Did he just hit his head somewhere?”

“He is done. This guy will be dead.”

Those onlookers screamed at seeing Ling Jiu’s action.

They knew in person how terrifyingly powerful the blue whale monster was.

The earth trembled as the monster’s claws struck the ground. Tremor could be felt from a few kilometers away. It was terrifying.

Yet Ling Jiu was trying to take it head-on. Was he not having a death wish?

*BANG!*

His fist clashed with the blue whale monster’s giant claws with a thunderous explosion and burst of shock waves.

*BANG!*

A gigantic wave rising on the lake surface was expanding outward.

“Not good!”

Those spectators quickly jumped onto the tree branches on the shore at seeing what happened. The last thing that they wanted was to get hit by the massive wave.

All eyes were focused on the situation in the middle of the lake, everyone eager to know the outcome.

What happened next knocked their socks off.

After the clash, Ling Jiu was still standing in his place instead of being blown away by the claw strike.

“He is still alive!”

The spectators were shocked.

But this was not over yet.

Ling Jiu charged forward to launch a storm-like attack.

He struck down his fist as if a heavy fire of artillery, punching through the hard armor of the blue whale monster’s head with a loud crackling.

“Again!”

First punch. Second punch. Third punch.

As punches rained down, it shocked everyone to see that Ling Jiu had gotten the blue whale monster by the balls.

Ling Jiu was faster, stronger, and more violent than the monster. Its hard armor of amazing defense looked like a sheet of paper in front of Ling Jiu’s iron fist.

He had lost count of how many punches he had struck. In just a few breaths, the blue whale monster’s body was riddled with holes and blue blood oozing out of the wound.

“It is over!”

Ling Jiu took out a silver metal. It formed a saber of forty meters long and 10 meters wide after he poured in Gene Arcana.

“I’ll let you run for thirty-nine meters[1] —D*mn, you really dare to start running!”

“Slash!”

He leaped forward and struck down with his forty-meter giant saber.

The forty-meter saber slashed across the blue whale monster, leaving behind a blue blood line on its neck.

Next, the head fell off the neck.

The blue whale monster was dead as the forty-meter giant saber had cut its head off.

“Look at the forty-meter giant saber!”

Ling Jiu exhaled after venting his frustration. He then kept the head and the body of the blue whale monster and disappeared from the middle of the lake.

“D*mn awesome!”

“Who is that guy?”

“He is terrific!”

“Tough! That guy is so tough! Ten of us couldn’t even kill the blue whale monster, yet he cut its head off with just a saber. Are we too weak, or is he too strong?”

“Which training camp is he from?”

There was an uproar as everyone looked at the direction where Ling Jiu went. His show of strength had shocked everyone.

“My dear, is this guy really your classmate?”

Francis was equally stunned as he stared at the direction of where Ling Jiu had gone.

“It looked like him earlier. Now I am dead sure he is not Ling Jiu!”

Han Chujun shook her head. “It can’t be Ling Jiu. He is not as strong as this guy. Besides, Ling Jiu’s arcana are Earth and Gravity Manipulation, not Metalization.”

“Then who is he?”

...

What happened just now was just a small episode for Ling Jiu, although it had caused a lot of sensation among others.

The blue whale monster’s defense ability was no weaker than a Class-Eight Direbeast after all.

But it was on par with ordinary Class-Seven Direbeasts in terms of combat strength. Nothing to shout about.

Ling Jiu was seriously looking for Direbeasts now. He told himself he wanted number one, or more specifically, the reward.

This reward would be unimaginably handsome this time, as the major training camps were pooling their resources together. He did not want to miss this opportunity and regret it later.

“A Direbeast is up ahead!”

Ling Jiu came to a swamp area. There, he found several giant mosquitoes hovering over the swamp.

These mosquitoes were over thirty meters long, having three pairs of blue wings on their backs, their mouths long and thin like steel needles.

When a small mosquito could pierce through human skin and suck their blood, it was easy to imagine what terrifying things these giant mosquitoes could do.

The most terrifying thing about these mosquitoes was their size. They could suck a person dry.

“I hate mosquitoes the most!”

Ling Jiu hissed and appeared in front of a giant mosquito in a flash. Using the forty-meter giant saber, he slashed the giant mosquito’s head like the strike of a lightning.

*WOOSH!*

But the giant mosquito was no slouch. It disappeared in the blink of an eye before re-appearing elsewhere and then flapping its wings to charge at Ling Jiu as a blue light.

The other giant mosquitoes over the swamp had also spotted Ling Jiu—the uninvited guest. They all swarmed over, wanting to suck his blood dry.

“Here goes!”

Ling Jiu hissed, and when all the giant mosquitoes came within his arcana range, he uttered some words in his mouth.

“The Beckoning!”

*BANG!*

After a burst of terrifying gravity force, those giant mosquitoes seemed to have lost control. They plunged towards Ling Jiu, who was waving his forty-meter giant saber in his hands.
