Chapter 65 (At Least, You Haven’t Slapped Me across the Face) To Warm Each Other at a Cold Night
Lin Wenxi was angry and kept asking the policemen why they detained him.
The policemen patiently asked him questions and then banged the table to threaten him, but still failed to get him booked. They went to ask Zhao Yuan for help, and Zhao Yuan said that they could try to contact Lin Wenxi’s parents.
Beyond everyone’s expectation, Lin Wenxi just refused to show the policemen his student ID card or tell them how to contact his parents. This was because he knew that he would get into trouble if they contacted his father Lin Ziwei. When Zhao Yuan got released, Lin Wenxi was still detained in the police station.
According to the regulations, the policemen could not frisk Lin Wenxi. As he refused to cooperate with the policemen, they could only leave him in an empty room alone.
Before getting thrown into the room, Lin Wenxi shouted at the policemen, accusing them of illegally detaining him without a warrant. The policemen refused to let him go before getting his statement. The locked the door and handed over their work to the next shift before going home.
The policemen had asked their colleges on the next shift to deliver a meal to the boy who was locked in the room in the evening, but the policemen on the next shift just forgot about it. Because of the impending spring festival, the policemen just did not pay much attention to their jobs. They kept playing mahjong in the evening.
It was a cold winter night, and there was no bed or quilt inside Lin Wenxi’s room. To make the situation even more unpleasant, there was even a water leak in a corner of the room. It seemed to be a storage room, but because of the coming festival, all the things had been distributed out. At this moment, there was nothing left inside this room, not even a strip of paper.
After staying inside this room for about half an hour, Lin Wenxi felt that his knees were frozen. He stood up and kept pounding on the thick wooden door.
Not long after that, the policemen heard a loud clang and went to see what happened. They saw Zhao Yuan smash a window of the police station with a rock
By doing so, Zhao Yuan successfully got himself locked together with Lin Wenxi. Before getting into the police station, he made a call.
“Who is it?” Lin Wenxi asked with a trembling voice.
“It’s me,” Zhao Yuan replied and groped his way across the room.
Lin Wenxi felt relieved and continued to ask with a trembling voice, “Did you get detained too?”
“Yes.” Zhao Yuan sighed inwardly, “How come a calm and nice guy like Lin Wenxi will become a totally different person when he gets angry? He’s not as smart as usual now.”
When Zhao Yuan grabbed the cold hands of Lin Wenxi, he felt worried about his health and could not help but take him into his arms. During this process, his lips accidentally touched the cold lips of Lin Wenxi.
Lin Wenxi’s heart began to race when he felt the warm lips of Zhao Yuan. He could not help but to hold Zhao Yuan more tightly, his mind a complete blank. After a while, he pushed Zhao Yuan away while shouting, “Pervert!”
The next moment, he heard Zhao Yuan reply solwly and calmly, “It’s great. At least you haven’t slapped me across the face this time.”
Lin Wenxi was rendered speechless.
“You seem to regret having slapped me before,” Zhao Yuan smiled and approached Lin Wenxi. He hugged him from behind. Lin Wenxi felt that his body was warm now.
He twitched his mouth and said, “It seems that you just can’t forget about the feeling of being slapped across the face. Do you want to try again?”
As the night was long, they could not remain standing all the time. Zhao Yuan lean against a vertical wall while tightly holding Lin Wenxi, trying his best to keep him warm.
He was not sure how long he had been standing like this together with Lin Wenxi when he heard someone open the door with a key. A beam of light was shot into the room, and then a blanket, a bag of bread and a hot water bottle were thrown to them. Upon seeing these things, Zhao Yuan was pretty sure that they would be released tomorrow.
Zhao Yuan asked Lin Wenxi to hold the hot water bottle and then covered him with the blanket. Lin Wenxi refused and struggled to stand up. He folded a corner of the blanket and asked Zhao Yuan to sit on it. After that, he sat in between Zhao Yuan’s legs and arms and wrapped the unfolded part of the blanket around both of them. Fortunately, the blanket was big enough for them.
Zhao Yuan did not feel cold anymore. He embraced Lin Wenxi and kept patting him as if he was holding a baby. Lin Wenxi enjoyed this feeling. He put his face against Zhao Yuan’s chest and felt relieved. Gradually, he fell asleep.
The next morning, Lin Wenxi woke up first and used his head to touch Zhao Yuan’s chin to wake him up. At this moment, they could see sunshine creep into the room through the cracks of the door. Zhao Yuan yawned and stretched. His whole body ached as he had gotten wounded during the fight yesterday. He had not paid much attention to his wounds and pains until now.
Suddenly, the door was opened, and strong light entered the room. Zhao Yuan and Lin Wenxi could not help but cover their eyes with their hands.
“Zhao Yuan, come out!” A policeman shouted outside.
Zhao Yuan grabbed Lin Wenxi’s hand and asked to leave together with his friend, but got refused. He knew that it was not wise to argue with a policeman and let the man drag him out of the room. Lin Wenxi was locked up in the dark room alone. He felt agitated and tightly held the blanket.
“I never know that you have such a powerful friend!” The policeman took Zhao Yuan into another room. On the table inside the room placed two cups of hot drinks, two pieces of bread and several steamed buns.
Zhao Yuan looked pale now. His face was unshaved, and his eyes were swollen and red. There were some blood stains at the corners of his eyes. His nose was swollen and stained with blood too. He refused to eat breakfast and kept on thinking how to get Lin Wenxi released. At this moment, the door was opened and a woman who wore a mink fur hat and a pair of color-changing sunglasses came in. She was well-dressed but looked young. She was Chen Wanxin.
