Chapter 300 Something was Different in the Magic Conference
Chapter 300 Something was Different in the Magic Conference
Prince William was the only man who would bribe people in ‘Gods’.
His actions in the arena left countless people dumbfounded.
Some of the spectators didn’t manage to join the competition themselves. They were rather confused upon seeing many people admit defeat so easily in the arena that William was at.
Furthermore, a lot of people saw him bribing Auston, the dual elemental mage who could use the fire and ice elements.
They saw William coming up with all sorts of verbal threats...
As they looked at this, everyone didn’t know where to start, even if they wanted to diss him.
This included the two Legendary big shots that made a bet.
Roland Fecker, the southern region messenger of the Temple of Light, had known about William a long time ago. After all, he had gone to take a look at the last battle that the City of Dawn obtained victory in.
At that time, William had gone crying to him.
Moreover, William had given him a substantial amount of Life Potion, and their affinity had exceeded 800 points.
Roland Fecker bet that William could win, as he thought that he was quite strong.
However, he totally didn’t expect William to start bribing the other competitors in front of everyone.
“Ahem... Well, I won this bet.” Roland shrugged. No matter how he did it, William was the final victor in his arena.
Scarbrow, the Palace of Darkness messenger, opened his eyes wide and immediately protested. “This is definitely against the rules! I am going to disqualify him now!”
“Hey, hey, how can you do that? The rules of the Magic Conference can’t be changed at the last minute. The four top power centers had come to an agreement long ago!” Roland stood up and grabbed Scarbrow’s arm.
Scarbrow clenched his fist. He glanced at Irene, then looked at Carlos Jayden, who didn’t look affected by their conversation at all. “Do you guys think that the guy from City of Dawn has broken the rules?”
Irene bit down on her red lips and remained silent. She did not want to comment.
The other turned to look at Carlos. “If luck is considered to be part of one’s ability, money is too.” He said sullenly.
“2 against 1. That dude didn’t go against the rules. I win.” Roland grinned and stuck his tongue out, licking his nose.
Irene’s face turned redder...
“What the f**k?” Scarbrow’s eyes widened. He looked around before realizing that there was something going on between Roland and Irene, who were making eyes at each other.
“Dammit, so what if you have a long tongue...”
Roland walked towards Scarbrow and patted his shoulder as a form of comfort. “Having a long tongue doesn’t mean anything. You gotta know how to use it properly.”
Slurp!
“Do you understand, little boy?”
“Ahem...”
Irene stared at Roland in a lascivious manner. When seeing that, Scarbrow couldn’t hold it in any longer and exploded, pouncing on Roland.
As the saying goes, when two tigers fight, one is sure to lose[1].
Countless deaths and injuries occurred during the battles.
This sort of battle that only had one winner prompted the competitors to act like male dogs during the mating season. They fought till their deaths to become the final winner.
However, as a Half-Elf, William wasn’t as obedient as the other competitors. Just because the rules wanted them to destroy each other didn’t mean that he would do so.
The prince had logical thinking. The other competitors were joining forces to attack him. If he didn’t want to divulge his trump cards just yet, he had to make use of his money to obtain victory.
Upon seeing the situation play out, the referee announced the Lord of the City of Dawn as the victor of that arena. After all, none of the top four power center representatives said that it was against the rules.
Thereafter, William went to the arena where Annie was at. He stared daggers at whoever dared to gang up against Annie. “Listen up you bunch of losers, it’s fine if you want to take her on one on one. If anyone dares to gang up against her, you better not try to exit the Island of Light; otherwise, the Dawn Warship’s cannons will be waiting for you.”
NONS
The others didn’t dare to target this little princess who looked soft but was, in fact, savage.
As time passed, the last warrior stood in front of Annie. He was covered in wounds and couldn’t even stand properly. His armor had almost been shattered.
He glanced at his last opponent Annie, who appeared to be completely unharmed.
Then, he looked at the Lord of the City of Dawn, who was glaring menacingly at him.
He wanted to give them a thumbs-down.
However, something unexpected happened.
Annie took out 1000 magical stones from her space ring and threw it towards her opponent’s feet.
“What the h*11...”
William and the referee of that arena cursed at the same time.
That warrior silently curled his fingers and picked up the magical stones quickly admitting defeat happily with a smile on his face.
He didn’t seem to think that he had suffered a loss.
Ahem!
After all, magical stones were of high value.
He had been offered 10000 magical stones!
He had only spent 510 gold coins on his registration token and transport fees. He had made a huge profit from this!
Was everyone from the City of Dawn so generous?
Wow, maybe he could work for the City of Dawn in the future...
At the same time, Annie exchanged glances with William.
“Am I doing it correctly?”
“Yeah... that’s right.” William was speechless. Sure enough, this little rich princess was rich and knew how to win people’s hearts. Being able to survive till the end, her opponent had definitely been a Legendary or Epic expert.
Even if he hadn’t come, Annie seemed to be doing well by using her money...
After all, who knew how much inheritance the King of the Moonlight Elves left for Annie! Furthermore, the Moonlight Elf princes had also given Annie numerous gifts before.
Several referees heaved a sigh of relief.
When William and Annie went to look at the other arenas, they only cheered for the other City of Dawn participants. They didn’t use their money to help them.
Not all the professionals who participated in the Magic Conference were rich people.
Only a few participants belonged to a force that could back them up.
However, those forces might not necessarily be stronger than that of the City of Dawn.
Even if they were, the participant’s individual ability wasn’t strong.
They would be smart to just take the money and admit defeat, since they knew that they couldn’t achieve stellar results in this competition.
Also, they were doing the Lord of the City of Dawn a favor, which would probably benefit them in the future.
Subsequently, William went to take a look at other battles. The participants were desperate to win. There were many people covered in injuries, having broken limbs.
Burned Cinder, Diablo, and Alec were part of those people.
There were 100 arenas, which meant that not everyone was as unlucky as William.
Burned Cinder and the others were not as famous, so they didn’t attract much attention.
After the three of them spent a few hours fighting bloody battles, they finally emerged as the final winner of their respective arenas.
Their mouths twitched uncontrollably once they saw William and Annie, who weren’t injured at all.
Before they could ask how William and Annie were able to remain unscathed, William proudly took out several bags of magical stones. There were 1000 magical stones in each bag.
“I see, I see. My Lord, please keep those bags. They are too dazzling.”
“That’s right. As your subordinates, we can’t bear to look at the glow of the magical stones.”
The three of them lamented the vast difference between them and William.
They could only sit cross-legged on the ground silently and take out a magical stone each to gradually recover their combat power.
However, after William demonstrated his wealth, some things seemed to have changed in the Magic Conference...
Ahem!
Frankly speaking, there were some rich participants.
The prince narrowed his eyes. “After this knock-out round ends, around 300 people will be left. After that, the competition will continue in a 1v1 format until the final victor emerges.
But... As long as I win more rounds, it seems that it’s okay for me to lose a few rounds.”
No one noticed that William was starting to scheme against some rich participants...
