Chapter 92: Chapter 92 - Seven Deadly Sins
Chapter 92: - Seven Deadly Sins
That man is so infatuated with his game, Freya mused with a mix of affection and frustration. He\'s either insanely dedicated or just an outright oddball who\'s completely fanatical about it. Witnessing his intense focus, it was hard to believe that he bore the title of Sloth champion.
His sheer determination and dedication are astounding, she thought, smiling to herself.
She quickly changed into a pair of comfortable shorts and a lightweight T-shirt, ensuring her brown hair was neatly pinned up. Once dressed, she ran her fingers through her brown locks, smoothing them into place.
She had decided to bring some delicious food for Leon and his sister, Lily, hoping to surprise them. Freya grabbed her bag, her steps quickening as she headed toward their apartment.
Several minutes later, she arrived and pressed the doorbell. No one answered. Was Lily not home? If Leon was deeply engrossed in his game, he probably wouldn\'t hear the bell. Ultimately, Freya decided to open the door and step inside. There was no trace of Lily anywhere-perhaps she was out playing with friends?
Walking into the living room, Freya was struck by the heavy silence that blanketed the space. There was Leon lying on the couch, eyes closed and breathing shallowly. Alarmed, she gasped, assuming he had fainted from hunger.
"Leon! What\'s happening?" she shouted as she hurried over and shook his shoulders gently. She was frantic and said, "Hold on, I\'ll call an ambulance right now."
But just as she was about to grab her phone, Leon opened his eyes, took hold of her wrist, and looked at her calmly.
"How do I beat a level 150 monster with my current gear?" he asked as if nothing had happened.
Freya let out a relieved laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. "Leon!" she exclaimed. "Don\'t scare me like that, you idiot!"
It turns out Leon had actually fainted from hunger and exhaustion. Freya quickly called over the hotel waiter, and within minutes, a tray of steaming hot food arrived. Leon dived into the meal, barely stopping to breathe.
"Slow down, Mr. Gluttony," she teased, laughing.
Leon grumbled through a mouthful of food, "Don\'t call me Gluttony! I\'m the Champion of Sloth... rawr..." He stuffed his face even faster, chewing furiously while glancing at her.
Freya couldn\'t stop giggling at his antics.
Once he finished his meal, he drank the water so fast that droplets trickled down from his lips. He wiped his mouth with a tissue, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
"It\'s so nice to eat to my heart\'s content... I wonder if rich people ever get tired of having such good food every day?"
"I don\'t think that\'s possible," Freya replied thoughtfully. "There are still plenty of wealthy people who want to stay rich... Besides, wealth isn\'t only for buying food."
"Really? Tell me, what would you want if you were super rich, Freya?"
"Um..." Freya hesitated at the sudden question. "Some people desire wealth because they don\'t have it, but for those who already do, they have other ambitions that remain unfulfilled in their lives..."
"So... I\'ll consider those complex thoughts when I get even richer," Leon said, chuckling.
"Feeling clear-headed now?" she inquired.
"After eating, I seem to be able to think a bit better."
"That\'s good news!" she replied, relieved. "I\'m glad you\'re feeling better. Now tell me, what did you encounter in the Trial Domain?"
Leon tapped something on his phone screen and held it up for Freya to read.
"Do you understand the meaning of this phrase?"
[She was the hope. The chosen one.]
[She survived. While the others perished.]
[She lived with those lower than her. She was saved by the humble one.]
Freya frowned as she studied the sentences Leon had shown her. She pondered for a moment before responding.
"I think this might be connected to the main plot of Immortal Legacy, which is much larger in scope than The Ascension of Princess Alora."
"How do you know it\'s bigger than The Ascension of Princess Alora?" Leon asked, intrigued.
"I\'m not entirely certain," she replied thoughtfully. "But \'She was the hope, the chosen one,\' suggests a character-a woman-who possesses great potential and power. Whether she will stand with humanity or not is ambiguous."
"Okay," Leon nodded, urging her to go on.
"She survived, while the others perished," Freya continued. "From this, it seems likely she will seek revenge on those who wiped out her kin."
"Yes, I agree with that," Leon said, leaning forward with interest.
"But then," Freya paused, "she lived with those lower than her. She was saved by the humble one. \'Lower\' could mean individuals of lower social status or perhaps a different racial or
species status."
"Lower racial status?" Leon asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, like how there are High Elves and regular Elves," she replied, giggling.
"Do you have any theories or stories that might connect to this?" Leon inquired, his curiosity piqued.
Several hotel staff members came in to clear away the dirty dishes and leftover food. Once the room was tidied up, Freya and Leon resumed their conversation in the living room. Unlike her usual carefree demeanor, Freya now looked unusually serious.
Freya stood up while Leon remained seated on the couch. "Alright. Do you know how many major races there are in Yunatea?"
"Races?" Leon scratched his head, trying to recall. "Human, Elf, Dwarf, Giant... um, Demon?"
"So..." Freya continued, "Human, Elf, Dwarf, Demon, Fairy, Giant, and Dragon."
"Okay, I think I\'ve heard of them... but I don\'t really remember all the details."
"You don\'t need to remember them offhand, Leon. It\'s fundamental knowledge," she
suggested. "Just take the time to learn and read about it online."
"Alright, Ms. Know-It-All," Leon teased with a grin. "Please continue your explanation."
"Seven Major Races and Seven Deadly Sins," Freya went on.
"This sounds intriguing. Tell me more."
"Leon," Freya frowned slightly, "are you sure you don\'t understand this? I thought you had
read about it and done some quests related to this lore."
"Yes, I have read about it and done some quests that touched on it, but I don\'t remember much because, at the time, it didn\'t seem crucial to me. You know, I used to play the game mainly to kill my super limited time," he said, chuckling.
"Alright. Well, essentially, long ago-thousands of years ago-the Seven Deadly Sin Deities granted their blessings to each of the seven major races in Yunatea. Humans received the blessing of Sloth, Dragons got Greed, High Elves were bestowed with Pride, Demons with Gluttony, Dwarves with Envy, Giants with Wrath, and Fairies with Lust. From these blessings, all the major events in Yunatea\'s history unfolded," Freya explained. "What major event? Do you mean the great war that lasted for thousands of years?"
"Exactly!" Freya replied, her voice brimming with excitement. "The great war caused a tremendous imbalance in Yunatea. The dragon race lost their blessing, and the High Elves gained significant authority over Yunatea. And of course, there was the human race, tasked with restoring balance to the world, among other things."
The history of Yunatea is indeed vast and complex, but one central event stands out above all: the downfall of the dragon race. Once the most powerful beings, dragons have now been reduced to mere pets for certain races, especially the high elves.
