Chapter 238: - Exploring the Depths of the Cave

"Your Highness, it\'s inside, about a 30-minute walk," he said, his voice trembling.

"Okay, let\'s proceed," Alora commanded.

Princess Alora led the way, followed by Tristan, Ulrich, two city guards, and Broken. Inside the cave, the path was illuminated by crystal lamps placed every few steps. The cave appeared chaotic, with broken wooden carts scattered around and other signs of disarray.

Broken paused briefly, his mind drifting back to Ulrich\'s warnings about encountering demons in this unforgiving place. Demons? Were they mindless ones or named demons with terrifying powers? The very thought filled him with unease, especially considering the anomalies he had noticed among the other NPCs.

From all he knew, demons were rarely seen in the South Continent-at least, that was his understanding—unless they were Gluttony Champions like Paul, who was half-demon due to his unique class.

Demons inhabited the East Continent exclusively, as it lay within their domain. However, if demons were indeed present in the South Continent, particularly in the Dissidia Kingdom, it could potentially be linked to a sinister plot to usurp the throne from Princess Alora.

If that were true, it would indeed make this situation dire. Should demons be found in this region, it likely involved some members of the Gluttony Champions or individuals under the command of Demian. He contemplated the gravity of their current predicament.

Moreover, the presence of Tristan and the three others raised additional questions. Broken\'s inability to discern their statuses or levels added to his concerns. It was clear, though, that Tristan possessed formidable power. But he seemed to be intentionally concealing it for unknown reasons.

For now, Broken decided to play the fool, masking his awareness to uncover their true intentions. Despite all uncertainties, he placed his trust in Princess Alora\'s outstanding abilities, impressive level, and extraordinary stats. Furthermore, he had his own arsenal, including the Unique-grade All You Need Ticket, a powerful resource he hoped would aid them in any critical moments.

Two pairs of red eyes approached rapidly from the distance, and soon, a black wolf appeared with two pairs of horns, standing menacingly.

Seeing this, Ulrich yelled and tried to flee, but the city guards held him back. "Demons, the demons have arrived... no, let me go, I want to save my life... the demons are terrifying. We won\'t survive," he said in a panic.

But Princess Alora quickly drew her sword, a black blade adorned with red patterns. The creature was a level 210 monster wolf, but Princess Alora dashed forward, her body almost becoming transparent as she swiftly decapitated it. With a single strike, the monster fell and disintegrated into pixel fragments.

"Damn, that was an incredible display of power," thought Broken to himself.

Princess Alora turned to the others. "It was only a normal monster, not a demon creature," she explained.

Tristan forced a smile on his face. "Your Highness, your combat skills are truly undeniable. You are extraordinary, and I am confident you will be a worthy ruler for the future of Dissidia Kingdom."

Alora gave a faint smile, then turned back around and continued her journey inward.

Throughout the journey, Ulrich repeatedly rambled and screamed, causing his voice to echo throughout the cave.

"Demons are terrifying, they will kill us all. Please believe me, our lives are in danger," he cried hysterically.

"We\'re all going to die because of the demons!" he shouted frantically.

One of the city guards shook Ulrich roughly. "Shut up, or you\'ll just attract more monsters." "Bu-but... I\'m so scared..." Ulrich stammered.

Their path frequently forked, and that was when Ulrich\'s knowledge came into play. With trembling hands and wide eyes, he pointed to one of the branches. "The demons came from that direction," he said, terrified.

Alora nodded and continued leading the way. After some time, another group of monsters approached—just like the monster wolves they had encountered before.

One of the city guards brandished his spear and immediately moved to block Broken, pushing him back.

"Step back if you don\'t want to die foolishly," he said firmly, almost shouting.

Broken gave a thin smile. "Sorry..." he mumbled and then took out his pickaxe, lifting it up. "I\'m just a miner; facing monsters like these is far from my daily routine," he said.

"Then it\'s a stupid decision to follow us here," the city guard retorted. "It\'s a pity your people will soon lose their lord again," he added with a faint, sarcastic smile.

Once again, Alora demonstrated her mastery of the sword. She dashed forward, her red sword and armor reflecting the crystal light from the cave walls, creating the illusion of vibrant red lines dancing amidst the horde of wolves.

The number of wolf monsters kept increasing till they were in the dozens. But Princess Alora moved swiftly, her every slash decapitating a monster effortlessly. She dodged, darted, and struck with agility, showing no hint of hesitation in her movements. This spectacular display left everyone watching in awe of her combat prowess.

The monsters she faced were not minor creatures; they were all above level 200 and should not have been defeated so easily. Yet, even in this challenge, Princess Alora didn\'t use any active skills and still managed to handle the monsters with ease.

With a final slash, she finished the last monster and stood tall, calmly placing her sword back into her dimensional storage. She turned to face the others. "Still no demons," she

announced.

Tristan\'s stern face broke into a stiff smile. "That was truly nerve-wracking. I almost wet my pants watching those monsters," he said, his voice trembling.

Several times, the same monster attacks kept coming, but Princess Alora always handled them with ease, even in the narrow cave passages. While waiting, Broken amused himself by swinging his pickaxe around the cave, attempting some mining-hoping perhaps to level up

his mining skill.

The city guards glanced at Broken with puzzled expressions.

"I need more ores to sell. Mind if I do some mining here?" he asked.

The city guards didn\'t bother to reply, and Broken continued his task. He even managed to find some high-quality iron ores, which he quickly stored in his inventory.

After another battle ended, the group prepared to move on again, but this time, Tristan looked concerned and turned to Broken.

"You\'re certainly mining in the wrong place. Go away and stop bothering us," he said.

"Wait, I\'m only mining while waiting. Better than doing nothing, right?" Broken replied

quietly.

"He is with me," Princess Alora interjected. "No need to worry. Baron Broken isn\'t just anyone; he has combat abilities."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Tristan smiled and turned back to Princess Alora. "You are indeed a good leader, Your Highness, treating even a useless baron like him, who\'s just a miner, with respect. But saying

he has combat ability sounds like an over-the-top joke."

Princess Alora merely smiled and continued walking.

[The player is granted a new Unique-grade class...]

"No way, a Unique-grade class?" Broken whispered, barely able to believe what he was

seeing.
