Chapter 315: - Let’s Talk Inside, Shall We?
completing the Trial Domain alongside Princess Alora.
"I agree with Freya; you should try incubating the egg in the Demon\'s world," Maylock remarked thoughtfully.
He continued, "Regarding Marlene, she mentioned she\'d take you there for a demon beast, but I think you should focus on the demon egg instead. It\'s the only chance you\'ve got, Broken."
Broken nodded slowly, letting everyone share their thoughts on the matter.
"What about Marlene herself, Maylock?" Elincia expressed her concern.
Maylock shook his head. "I\'m convinced that Marlene has too much pride to willingly lower herself to anyone. Instead, she\'ll do whatever it takes to keep people worshiping her and following her whims."
"That girl needs a little scolding, khi khi khi," Goldrich chuckled.
Maylock continued, "In my opinion, if Marlene is willing to offer her friendship to you, Broken, and even take you to Hell-a completely new world for someone who could potentially become her rival in the future-it\'s clear that Marlene sees significant value in your potential. She understands that befriending you is the best strategic move she can make." He paused for a moment, reflecting on his words. "I must admit, she\'s quite clever in this regard."
"So?" Elincia prompted.
"Yes, I\'d say you can trust her, Broken," Maylock concluded. "She\'s no fool. She clearly knows what she\'s doing. The more she contributes to you, the more confident she\'ll feel about securing her place in your orbit."
"That\'s exactly what you did with Broken, right?" Goldrich teased, needling Maylock.
"Indeed," Maylock replied with a slight grin. "I did my best to support Broken so I could secure my spot on his radar when his future becomes even greater."
"You\'re certainly giving me a lot of credit," Broken said, offering a slight smile.
Goldrich responded, "Up to this point, Maylock\'s already kissed your ass, Broken. He\'ll be ready to be your lap dog whenever you need him."
"Ch," Maylock retorted. "I\'m still upset I didn\'t get my reward from the Trial Domain."
Broken grinned, amused by their exchange.
"Now, let\'s talk about Hell-the alternate world ruled by the king of all demons, King Bael!" Maylock continued.
"Among the seven major races in Yunatea, the demons, under King Bael, received the Blessing of Gluttony. This power allows him not only to create a domain but an entirely new world! We call this world the alternate world of Yunatea, or Hell," he explained. "Unfortunately, the restrictions they received make it difficult for demons to easily leave Hell, especially those of higher ranking. They can only be summoned through a special ritual."
"That\'s quite an overpowered ability, huh?" Broken remarked.
Maylock sighed. "Actually, every native holder of the Sin Blessing is overpowered. Take King Elandorr, for example; he\'s said to be blessed by the Self Transcendence Blessing. This power allows him to transcend almost everything." He paused.
Goldrich took over. "King Elandorr is the epitome of someone with a cheat skill. He can master everything-every class, every weapon, every race\'s abilities. He possesses unlimited power and stamina. He could even fight a god at his peak."
Broken nodded slowly, recalling the tale of King Elandorr, who was tasked by the Goddess of The Moon to slay the gods.
Maylock continued, "King Bael\'s power is so immense that he constructed his own world. In Hell, demons live like normal creatures in Yunatea. They cultivate, build their homes, and exist just like us. Those with immense power hold ranks among the 72 demons and lead their respective areas. Some major kingdoms also exist in Hell, each with its own king. However, the number one ranked demon remains King Bael."
Broken absorbed the information shared by the others, finding it more impactful in this detailed conversation. Even though he\'d heard about this kind of world before, the specifics engraved themselves deeper into his mind.
"Any other concerns? I\'m not sure what else to say, Broken," Maylock offered. "You can ask me anything."
"No, I think I\'ve got enough information," Broken replied.
Elincia then chimed in, "What about his preparation, Maylock? He\'s going into Hell with just Marlene."
Maylock shook his head. "What preparation? He\'s capable of causing a ruckus in Hell on his own; I\'m not worried. But Marlene will likely take a safer approach to bring him there. Being a non-demon entering Hell will definitely stir up some issues. But yeah, Marlene isn\'t stupid." "You really admire that woman, don\'t you? Khi khi khi," Goldrich teased.
"Not exactly, I\'m still smarter. But yeah, she isn\'t as foolish as Paul, their guild leader," Maylock retorted.
Everyone fell silent, trying to think of anything else that might have been overlooked before Broken set off to meet Marlene.
"What else do you need, Broken?" Elincia reiterated. "Have you upgraded your weapon and armor sufficiently? I bet you\'ll need a lot of resources to upgrade that Legendary-grade weapon to at least +12."
"No, not yet. I haven\'t taken it that far. But I\'ll handle it another time," Broken answered.
After confirming that everything was in order, Broken donned his full Invincible Paragon armor, with its durability fully restored and enchanted. In addition, he wore the Obsidian Shroud and the Visage headgear, concealing his identity with the cloak and mask. Thus disguised, he slipped out of the city unnoticed, using a carriage for his departure.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Once the carriage was a fair distance from the city, he disembarked and moved away before switching to ride Polly. The meeting point was not so far from Slumdon Town. As expected, Marlene had put in extra effort to fulfill her promise, just as Maylock had suggested.
From a distance, Broken spotted the tree line leading to the forest, and as he got closer, he saw several tents set up near the edge. Approaching further, he recognized the mage he\'d met earlier, Subaru.
"Ha ha hah. Broken, I\'ve been waiting for you. Welcome!" the mage greeted with his usual enthusiastic expression.
Broken got off Polly and walked closer, as the mage patted his back and guided him to the central area of the tents.
Broken could see about six members of the Shadow Wolves sitting around a campfire, eating. It seemed they were either hunting nearby or engaged in some other activity, clearly separated from their larger group.
For the Ass Guild, six members were a significant number, given that their total membership was only thirteen. But for a guild like the Shadow Wolves, six people amounted to just one hunting party. Their guild likely boasted dozens, perhaps even over a hundred members. This stark contrast highlighted how impressively confident the Ass Guild was in their small numbers, managing to remain among the top guilds in Immortal Legacy despite their size. "Woah, I can\'t wait for the expedition we\'re about to embark on, hahaha," Subaru said. "See? Marlene\'s been waiting for you in that tent." He pointed to the largest tent among the setup.
So, the expedition wasn\'t just going to be him and Marlene? It appeared she had also invited other members from the Shadow Wolves. They sure were putting a lot of effort into this,
weren\'t they?
The tent flaps opened, and a woman in tight black leather, with striking red hair, stepped out.
"Hi, it\'s nice to see you," she greeted.
"Hi." "Let\'s talk inside, shall we?" she suggested.
Broken nodded and followed her into the tent.
