Chapter 468: Chapter 468 - My Magic Shield is Quite Thick

Chapter 468: - My Magic Shield is Quite Thick

"This Maylock is so full of crap," she muttered. "Why do I have to fight these low-level idiots? I should be fighting someone far stronger than this."

"Fighting a beast master is simple-just kill the user before they can summon their stupid pets," one of the players said as they took up their positions.

"Yeah, she thinks she\'s safe coming here alone."

"Hey, Jovina, your mouth is full of garbage, you asshole. You\'d better shut that filthy mouth, because we\'re going to take you down easily!"

"Ch!" Jovina scoffed, spitting in their direction. "You are truly pathetic players who can only admire us from afar. Don\'t worry, I\'ll show you just how powerful my \'stupid\' pet really is!"

"Get ready! Attack her quickly!" the players shouted, casting their buffs and preparing to charge.

Suddenly, they froze, their confidence replaced by confusion as the ground beneath them began to tremble violently.

"What\'s happening?!"

"Stay alert! She\'s already summoned her pet!"

Out of the cracked earth behind them, a massive centipede emerged, its countless legs sharp as blades. It let out a monstrous hiss, each of its many legs slicing the ground as it moved, towering over the players.

"From behind!" they screamed.

"Ch!" Jovina sneered. "Finish them quickly; there\'s nothing interesting about any of them."

She turned her back to the chaos, walking away with disinterest. "Players like you are probably carrying nothing of value in your inventories anyway. Let your dropped items just lie there, so some other poor fools can loot them. Hahaha."

Jovina kept walking, ignoring the screams behind her as her massive centipede tore through the group with brutal efficiency.

The viewers of the battle could only watch in stunned silence as the massive centipede wreaked havoc, leaving no one standing.

"What is that?!"

"Is that a Raid Boss?"

"How can she have a beast summon that powerful?"

"Is the Beast Master class really that impressive?"

"Jovina is ranked number one among Beast Masters-there must be a reason for that."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Yeah, this isn\'t a fight anymore; it\'s a massacre."

On the other side of the battlefield, a tall, muscular figure walked forward. There was something peculiar about him, though he was dragging someone along by the leg, and the person being dragged was holding a bottle, drinking from it casually despite being pulled along the ground.

It was Optimus, the martial arts fighter, and his partner, Trison, the drunken healer.

Optimus stopped as he faced his opponents. Without warning, he tossed Trison towards them. Trison landed with a thud, looking bewildered as he sat up and glanced around.

"Wait, is that Optimus here?!"

"Isn\'t he supposed to be in the capital? How did he get here?!"

"Why are you all panicking? There\'s no need to be scared! He\'s alone!" they shouted, trying to rally their confidence.

Then their gaze shifted to Trison, who was now sitting on the ground with bloodshot eyes, staring back at them.

"Are you all here for a party?" Trison slurred.

"That one\'s just a drunk-ignore him!" one of them scoffed.

"Hey, do you want to party?" Trison said, stumbling as he stood up, taking another swig from his bottle.

"Trison, buff me. They want a party," Optimus said.

"A party in the middle of the day, hahaha." Trison laughed, then threw his bottle at Optimus\'s head. And then, in an instant, Optimus dashed toward the attackers.

"Wait, wait, we\'re not ready! Cast buffs, cast buffs!"

"Why is the number one fighter of the Dissidia Kingdom here? Why was our intel wrong?" they screamed, panicking as they scrambled to react.

Goldrich! He seemed to be having the most fun out of everyone else in the fray.

"Oh, you\'re just wasting your skills casting magic at me while I\'m immune, you know," he said as one of the attackers rushed at him, swinging a flaming sword towards him.

Goldrich swiftly kicked the player in the legs, then grabbed the flaming sword from them, spinning it in the air without physically holding it.

"Wait, how is he wielding the sword without touching it?!" someone shouted, clearly

shocked.

"Khi khi khi... I\'m not actually holding it. I\'m controlling the sword with my skill. Did you think using a sword always meant holding it in your hand?"

The group quickly closed in, attacking from all directions. Goldrich, however, manipulated the sword expertly, guiding it through the air. It moved with elegant precision, cutting down the attackers as if it had a mind of its own.

"Khi khi khi... look at your support player over there," Goldrich mocked. "Instead of analyzing my weaknesses, they look lost, unsure of which spell to even use against me."

He deftly evaded incoming attacks, his movements surprisingly swift and graceful. He darted between strikes with a fluidity that left his enemies struggling to keep up, until he suddenly closed the distance between himself and one of the support players.

"Help me!" the support player screamed.

From a distance, the flaming sword spun and flew straight towards the support, piercing their chest before they could react.

"See, you must focus on protecting your support roles with your lives. Don\'t let them be exposed like this-it\'s a fatal mistake." Goldrich said calmly, as if lecturing them.

"Shut up, you fool!"

"Attack him from all sides! Cast any skill! He\'s just a mage-hit him up close, his health must

be low!"

Goldrich let out a chuckle. "Yes, but my magic shield is quite thick," he paused for a moment, then added with a sly grin, "just like the ladies tell me, khi khi khi."

Meanwhile, Skywarden was walking slowly and reluctantly, his massive, gleaming armor glistening in the sunlight. His face showed nothing but bitterness and discontent as he trudged forward.

"Why do I have to do this? Damn it!" he muttered, approaching a group that seemed ready to

face him.

"You guys really screwed the pooch!" Skywarden bellowed. Without giving them a chance to respond, he launched himself straight into the fray, his armor clanking as he charged.

What many had anticipated as an exciting spectacle seemed to end in the blink of an eye. The hundreds of players who had hoped to put up some sort of resistance against the Ass Guild were completely powerless before them.

"Damn it! I was hoping for an action-packed fight!"

"Those Valantar Guilds Alliance members are so dumb!"

"Yeah, this was supposed to be an epic battle, but it turned out more like a comedy show!"

"They all died so stupidly, just like that."

"I\'m still curious about that elf knight from earlier-she was really beautiful."

"I want to visit Slumdon."

"Just make sure you have good intentions when you go, unless you want to face those

monsters firsthand, hahaha."

Broken was sitting in the carriage, listening to the cheerful conversation between Anna and Ivana, when an unexpected notification suddenly popped up in front of him.

[You have done an outstanding job of protecting the citizens of Slumdon Town. Your selection

of personnel for the task was spot on, and it has been greatly appreciated by the residents. As

a result, you have earned yourself a whopping 3,500 Reputation Points!] "What?" Broken muttered, staring at the notification with a confused expression.
