Chapter 151: Asking him for Alimony 1
“I’ve sweated a ton and feel all sticky. I want to go home and shower.” With Xiaole’s help, Su Hongxing struggled to get up.
“You can’t. The doctor said you need further observation in case your condition worsens. I’ll go find the doctor. Please wait.” With that, Xiaole quickly headed off to fetch the doctor.
After checking Su Hongxing, the doctor suggested she stays in the hospital for few more days for observation.
But Su Hongxing insisted on going back to the villa, afraid that Ye Qilan would seek a divorce while she was away.
She wanted to quickly settle her marital issues with Ye Qilan. Once divorced, she would be free from any legal ties.
As for the other issues, she figured she could sort them out later.
Ultimately, the doctor and Xiaole couldn’t go against Su Hongxing’s determination and let her leave the hospital.
By noon, seeing the speeding Su Hongxing, Xiaole was at a loss for words.
Who could have imagined that Su Hongxing, who looked full of energy now, was lying in the hospital bed like a lifeless fish just the night before?
She had planned to hate all women involved with Ye Qilan, but now, she couldn’t bring herself to hate Su Hongxing.
“You were sick all night and yet you didn’t lose a single pound!” Xiaole muttered beside Su Hongxing, “Why don’t you lose weight? Don’t you get out of breath walking around like this?”
“Losing weight is painful, why would 1 do that?” Su Hongxing asked innocently.
Xiaole, fuming with irritation, decided to give her the silent treatment for half an hour.
However, in less than ten minutes, she found that Su Hongxing had finished eating all the snacks on the coffee table.
“You’re just recovering from your illness and yet you eat so much?” Xiaole asked, puzzled.
“Didn’t you say you won’t talk to me for half an hour?” Su Hongxing’s next words left Xiaole even more exasperated.
With Xiaole’s company, Su Hongxing found the boring villa life rather amusing.
When Xiaole was done, Su Hongxing pulled her to sit down, “Is Ye Qilan usually generous?”
“What are you up to?” Xiaole could tell from Su Hongxing’s tone that she was up to no good.
“We’re getting a divorce, right? He wants to give Cao Shiyu a title, so he needs me out of the way. Doesn’t that mean he should give me more alimony?!” Su Hongxing was devising her own calculations.
She realized that if she could gain benefits from this divorce, then she’d come out on top.
Before she could finish her sentence, Xiaole began making faces at her. She sensed that something was awry and turned around to see Ye Qilan standing behind the sofa, apparently heard her whole conversation.
Without attempting to cover up her intentions, she said to Ye Qilan, “It’s a good thing you came. Now we can talk about the alimony. Relinquishing my status as Madam Qilan is honestly unthinkable. This very status alone is enough to double my value. Unless you provide satisfying alimony, there’s no way I’m signing the divorce papers!”
Ye Qilan turned to Xiaole, “Didn’t you say that she was on her deathbed?”
Does the woman in front of him, looking alive and kicking and demanding alimony, seem like she’s about to die?
Xiaole regretted being a chatterbox. She only called Ye Qilan out of sympathy for Su Hongxing. She never expected the usually pragmatic Ye Qilan to rush back to the villa during his office hours.
Doesn’t this imply that Su Hongxing holds a special place in Ye Qilan’s heart?
