Chapter 277 Capturing Pan Zhaodi’s Brother Alive

Chapter 277 Capturing Pan Zhaodi’s Brother Alive

Although cursing in his heart, ‘good self-cultivation’ still made Su Yang shout toward the room, “Little Deeny, who was it?!”

After a moment, Little Deeny’s voice sounded in Su Yang’s ear, “Master, it’s a call from Miss Chu Xia.”

‘Chu Xia? What does she want with me?’

Su Yang endured the excruciating pain in his hand and shouted again, “Little Deeny! Accept the call.”

A second later, the line was connected, and Chu Xia’s voice rang out from the phone, “Hey young master! Will you come out for coffee this afternoon?”

Su Yang looked at his right hand where only his middle finger remained.

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. “How about another day?”

Chu Xia was worried. “Huh? Are you having a bad day?”

After revealing her concern, Chu Xia asked him as she sensed something was off, “Are you alright? Why do I get the feeling you aren’t feeling yourself when I hear your voice...”

Su Yang replied, “I’m fine. It’s fine. I’ve just got a little cold.”

Chu Xia then suggested, “Oh... Should I come to see you then? As it happens, I’ve got some free time today!”

ome

Su Yang looked at his hand and thought about the mess he was in as he refused her offer. “No, no. I just need to rest for two days.”

Chu Xia didn’t press on but replied nicely, “It’s fine then. I’ll see you again in two days. In thre meantime, get some rest, drink plenty of hot water, and remember to take your meds if you’re really feeling uncomfortable.”

“Okay, okay.”

Hanging up the phone, Su Yang dropped back onto the floor as he continued rolling around in pain. “God it hurts!”

While he was in excruciating pain, he received another call.

Su Yang was speechless.

‘Was this a group of people who’re rounding up the wounded? Why can’t you guys come bearing gifts instead? Can’t they show me some love? Su Yang asked, “Little Deeny! Who is it this time?!”

After a moment, Little Deeny replied, “Master, although you didn’t save the number, it’s probably a producer from your company.” ‘A producer?

‘Was he the one and only employee of his film company? Was he the producer who took 5 million yuan of his money to make a movie?’

As much as he didn’t want to pick it up, the guy held half of his assets after all. Feeling like he had no choice, Su Yang covered his hands and endured the pain as he said to Little Deeny in a whisper, “Pick up, pick up.”

He looked like Eggy when it had been attacked previously...

Picking up the phone, Producer Zhao’s voice came through, “Boss, I’m here to report to you.”

Su Yang was in pain and could only squeeze out a sentence through gritted teeth, “Speak...”

Producer Zhao continued, “The pre-planning for our movie is complete. It’s about to start shooting soon. The two main actors have already been engaged and are coordinating their schedules. Once they’re done, we’ll temporarily find the other supporting actors and actresses and even that’ll be done soon.”

Although his hand was held against his chest in pain, Su Yang still held onto his sanity. Rather, who would be able to remain sane when the other party was holding half of his possessions in their hand. “Find temporary actors? Wouldn’t that be too hasty?”

Producer Zhao replied, “No, that’s the way it is for most networks. Even the two main actors are given the script two days in advance. Then, they’d familiarize themselves with it and shoot within the week. It’s even simpler for regular actors. They’ll be fine as long as they have some basic skills and don’t look at the camera.

Su Yang was speechless. ‘This is too crude’

Doubtful, Su Yang pondered., “Can a movie like this be a hit?”

Producer Zhao was particularly confident. “Don’t worry, I don’t know anything about art, but I still have a keen sense of business! The main focus of this film is the sentiment...”

Producer Zhao then detailed his overall idea, which was similar to Little Deeny’s analysis, but more complete... However, Su Yang wasn’t paying attention. All he wanted to do was hit himself with a brick and pass out.

He droned on and on about the movie, making it clear that the guy was excited about finally making the movie come true.

Before hanging up the phone, Producer Zhao revealed his true intentions. “Director Su, we’re almost used up all of the initial expenses. I was wondering when the next payment would come? Producer Chen said he’d need your signature before he could do it.”

Although Su Yang was a newbie when it came to this, he knew that he couldn’t give the money directly to the crew. When he signed the contract, he had the finance department calculate how much he’d need to fork out for every portion so he’d know how much he’d have to put into the crew’s accounts in batches. As for Chen Xiaoyun, Su Yang was most familiar with this new producer amongst the new employees. She had some potential so he assigned her to the crew as the producer responsible for handling the finances while helping out with odd jobs and training.

‘Looks like Chen Xiaoyun’s doing a good job.’

Su Yang said, “Alright then. Have Xiaoyun send me the report and I’ll have it signed within the next few days.”

Producer Zhao replied immediately, “Okay, okay!”

After hanging up, Su Yang finally had the rare moment of silence he was craving. Nobody was looking for him and he just wanted to lie there quietly... After already taking the painkillers along with Sanque’s ginseng whiskers, he was still in excruciating pain from the pain in his lost fingers. In other words, he could only suffer through the pain he was in.

Soon, an entire day passed after 13 long hours. In the end, he felt a little numb and was wondering if the cooldown for (Lucky Disfiguring Slab] had already completed. After all, he could hit himself to death. However, looking at the time he had left, it would seem like the slab would only complete its cooldown period in another week. At that time, he’d be able to hit himself in the face once more.

‘Bah... Having the chance to have good luck is good luck in itself!’

Su Yang felt that he hadn’t been very lucky lately and needed to change it up a little.

When the clock struck 0:00, this difficult day finally passed.

Su Yang cried tears of joy as he looked at the four fingers slowly growing out of his palm! He began imagining how hard it’d be for people with physical disabilities as he thought how he had to live without four of his fingers.

With only one finger, he couldn’t even shake it off when he urinated or wipe himself clean after a bowel movement.

Su Yang was used to using his right hand so using his left hand was rather... uncomfortable. Besides, if not for embarrassment, he’d probably ask Little Deeny for some help. Now that he had been relieved of his pain, Su Yang decided to go out for a late-night supper.

If you were wondering why he didn’t just stay home with his (Grass-Eating Iron Pot], it was because suppers were best eaten outside.

After packing up, he brought Janet out of the virtual space to the outskirts of his neighborhood where the both of them found a barbecue stall. They ordered some grilled meat and ate their fill.

Janet wasn’t that good of a chatting partner so his supper was incredibly dull.

There weren’t any unsightly punks to accost or shoddy shopkeepers to taunt so he had a supper that was as calm as the weather that night.

‘It was true.’ He guessed. There really aren’t that many bad people in life.

The only reward one could look forward to was a full stomach and eyes that envied them. After all, Janet was an extremely pretty foreign ‘woman’ in the eyes of outsiders.

After finishing his supper, he walked back with Janet. On the road, Su Yang’s (Heaven’s Eye) activated and he saw an image in front of him.

In a luxurious apartment, a few young people were drinking and chatting. “Did Su Yang really do this?” “It’s him, I guess. Anyway, Zhao Xiao called me before and mentioned him. Then, he died within two hours.”

“That’s too cruel. It’s taboo, right?”

“Who knows. Maybe the struggle in Shanghai really is that cruel.”

The image came to an abrupt halt here, and Su Yang couldn’t help but contemplate the fact that the second-generation wealthy people of Shanghai were discussing his affairs. It seemed that he had gradually entered a circle that he had never dared to think about in the past.

Just as he was deep in thought, another image appeared before his eyes.

On the screen was an ordinary-looking woman making a phone call in an office. “Hello, Mr. Jia, I’d like to ask about my cousin Feng Xiao. Oh, no, he’s probably known as Zhao Xiao in Shanghai. I want to know some details, especially what’s going on with him and Su Yang.”

Mr. Jia’s voice rang out over the phone, “Ms. Feng, I’m really not too sure. I’m just a consultant, and Mr. Zhao is just one of my many clients.”

Ms. Feng didn’t listen to Mr. Jia’s explanation at all. “You and your consulting, huh? I can pay your fee, it’s a hundred thousand enough?”

Mr. Jia continued, “Enough, enough. But... I really don’t know about either of them.” ...

The images came to an abrupt end again.

If the first image didn’t get Su Yang’s attention, the second image did.

He stopped and frowned as he pondered the image he had just seen.

‘Zhao Xiao? Feng Xiao? What’s all this about?

‘Does Zhao Xiao have any hidden identities? Isn’t he just a simple liar?’ The information on the screen that [Heaven’s Eyes] could see was limited, and Su Yang wasn’t able to get much information from it. However, he was now more careful. Je suddenly realized that although Zhao Xiao was dead, things were far from over... After a night of silence, Su Yang got up the next day and washed up. Then, he went to the company.

The company was now stable and was gradually developing. Since all the students were on vacation, there was no way to promote it at the moment.

However, the company wasn’t idling. They were all gearing up for war from top to bottom, just waiting for the start of school in a month.

After working a day’s shift at the company, he read and signed the backlog of documents that needed to be signed one by one, which of course included the second payment for the ‘Fighting The Buddha’ crew.

After completing the day’s work, Su Yang jogged back to his own neighborhood. As a result, (Heaven’s Eyes] activated again before he entered the neighborhood. A familiar-looking, trench coat, hat-wearing person was secretly observing himself under a tree not far away.

‘Huh? Wasn’t this the guy Longteng Jiayuan sent to follow me in the first place? Why is he still following me even after the two owners of Longteng Jiayuan are dead?

‘This person’s a little too dedicated, isn’t he?

‘And... Janet didn’t break his arm, did she?

‘I guess he’s the one who ran away that day.’

It was as if this person’s zodiac was a rat since he was too good at escaping. So, Su Yang deliberately pretended not to notice him and walked forward as usual.

The man in the trench coat was indeed fooled by Su Yang. He did the same old trick of throwing the phone into the flower bed, so Janet could quietly go and catch him.

Things went smoothly. Not long after Su Yang returned home, he heard Little Deeny’s voice, “Master, the man is caught...”

Su Yang said, “Okay, that’s good. Bring him here and I’ll ask him what’s going on.”

Little Deeny hesitated for a moment and said, “Master... Why don’t you just come over and take a look?”

Su Yang wondered. “Why? Janet can’t handle him by herself?”

Little Deeny replied, “No... He said he’s Pan Zhaodi’s brother.”
