Chapter 0618: Cultivating Fiend Arts
Jiang Qing\'e was unperturbed by his triumphant tone, but her expression gave her inner surprise away. The announcement of triple resonances was a surprise she had never expected. Triple resonances at the General Stage was something that even Jiang Qing\'e had never heard of. From a certain point of view, it truly did not lose out to a ninth-grade resonance.
Of course, the important part was that he had three resonances at the General Stage... The only way an average individual could achieve this was if their body produced a new resonant palace and resonance during the breakthroughs to the Resonant Master stage and the General Stage. This miracle had to happen twice in a row. What was the probability of that happening?
Triple resonances was something even Dukes wanted to achieve!
Triple resonances was the hallmark of a King Stage cultivator and thus the lifelong pursuit of a Duke.
Now Li Luo had triple resonances, and he was only a piddly cultivator at the General Stage! Frankly speaking, he couldn\'t use triple resonant power yet, but he had thrice the amount of resonant power compared to others, which was already a huge advantage. At the very least, if he could grasp a rudimentary form of fusion with the three resonant powers together, it would be exceptionally beneficial in paving the way to breaking into the King Stage.
"Not bad." Jiang Qing\'e finally snapped out of her stupor, and a trace of a smile appeared. Li Luo being able to grasp this rare opportunity brought her endless joy.
"I had not expected the Young Lord\'s third resonance to be a dragon one. Hehe. As expected of someone from that bloodline. You have a natural affinity with dragons." Ox Biaobiao chuckled.
At this point, Li Luo was slightly startled before he quickly asked, "Uncle Biao, does this have anything to do with the Veins of Heavenly Emperor Li?"
"Did you hear that from Principal Pang?" Ox Biaobiao asked rhetorically upon hearing that specific term, and he nodded in response.
"That\'s the truth. You and your father both possess the Veins of Heavenly Emperor Li. Your bloodline is extremely famous in the inner divine continent, and those who are part of it tend to awaken dragon resonances. Your father himself has a quasi ninth-grade dragon resonance."
Shock precipitated his question. "Do you mean that one\'s resonance isn’t decided purely by chance?"
He had always thought that one\'s awakened resonance would be random. However, if those who possessed the Veins of Heavenly Emperor Li had a high probability of awakening dragon resonances, then that was clearly not so. There must have been a specific reason for it.
"Legend has it that one of your ancestors made a pact with a heavenly dragon. As a result, the qi of that dragon has remained in your bloodline till date. Thus, all who possess the Veins of Heavenly Emperor Li have an extremely high chance of awakening a dragon resonance," Ox Biaobiao explained. Li Luo gulped. This incredible tale seemed to exceed even the limits of his imagination. He had also never heard of it.
More importantly, the third resonance had been created by him, not awakened through his bloodline directly. From a different perspective, he was fated to obtain a dragon resonance, and even when his inborn talents failed him, destiny still found a way.
"My old man actually had a quasi ninth-grade dragon resonance?" Li Luo sighed. The resonance his father had revealed to him was not the dragon resonance that Uncle Biao had mentioned.
"Speaking of which, I\'ve never actually seen what my mother\'s dual resonances are," he said.
Ox Biaobiao then gave another smile. "Speaking of her first resonance, the circumstances are quite interesting."
"What do you mean?"
"The Mistress\' first resonance was a Golden Winged Peng resonance. It was a true ninth-grade resonance. The Golden Winged Peng is a spirit beast that exists at the peak of strength in our world. It\'s rumored that it even feeds on young dragons. Thus, it has always had enmity with the dragon race."
Li Luo was slightly shocked. No wonder his old man always got his ass beaten by his mother. Could it be a suppression on an instinctual level? Wait a moment... he had a dragon resonance too. Did this mean that if his mother flew into a rage, he\'d just sit there and quiver quietly?
"Ah, Mom is truly amazing..." Li Luo dryly laughed. A ninth-grade Golden Winged Peng resonance would be the second true ninth-grade he had ever seen, and they were all from his family. More importantly, they were all possessed by the ladies of the house!
Sorrow filled Li Luo as he lamented his fate. “Why, oh, why do the males of his family have to suffer this cruel injustice?”
"The Mistress must truly be an esteemed individual, for being able to subdue the Master." Jiang Qing\'e laughed lightly as well, a hint of adoration in her tone.
Li Luo coughed upon hearing this, then he took on a sincere tone. "There are many aspects of my Mom that I do respect with all earnestness. However, like any human, she has her flaws too. You must not learn from her bad examples. One such example is her beating my old man whenever she felt like it. So yes, you must only learn the good things."
This completely flew over her head though. "The Mistress taught me that violence is the only truth. Might makes right."
Li Luo\'s expression darkened immediately. “Mom! Just what were you teaching her? Was she hoping that her son would grow up in an abyss of suffering???”
Hmph. Just because the senior wasn\'t good enough, that didn\'t mean the junior would have to follow in his footsteps... Yes. So what if she had a ninth-grade light resonance? He had triple resonances! No matter how he looked at it, he was not at all inferior. Time would soon tell who wore the pants in the relationship.
Of course, he would first have to catch up to Jiang Qing\'e\'s cultivation level.
Before they were equals... he\'d first have to concede and admit defeat. Yes. There was no shame in that. He was just biding his time in the shadows. Yes. He would convince himself that way.
Jiang Qing\'e completely ignored Li Luo, who was lost in his own world, and her eyes glinted. "Now that you\'ve entered the Earth Fiend Stage, you can begin learning Fiend Arts."
"Fiend Arts?"
Li Luo snapped out of his stupor and his expression changed. He naturally knew what they were. This was a cultivation method for those that had entered the Earth Fiend Stage.
Simply speaking, it was a way for the body to absorb and refine earth fiend energy. Once this energy was refined, it would turn into another form of energy known as abstruse fiend light.
Abstruse fiend light possessed an amazing quality: it could amplify resonant power. This was absolutely game changing in battle.
This was also the symbol of might of an Earth Fiend General Stage cultivator.
At the same time, abstruse fiend light was able to polish and enhance one\'s resonant palace. For one to progress to the Greater Fiend Palace Tier, one had to rely on this new energy. Thus, the Fiend Art that one cultivated was of significant importance to any cultivator.
In a sense, it was quite similar to the energy cultivation arts that one practiced at the Resonant Master Stage, only Fiend Arts were of a higher tier.
"The college tricked me once again... The 12 Step Weave which I exchanged points for doesn\'t have the corresponding Fiend Art..." Li Luo grumbled.
"What are you blabbering about? A Fiend Art\'s value far surpasses that of an energy cultivation art. Plus, it\'s of a higher tier, so how could the college give it away so cheaply for a few crappy points." Jiang Qing\'e rolled her eyes.
"Still, I would not recommend that you learn the Fiend Art of the 12 Step Weave."
"Why?" Li Luo asked curiously now.
"The 12 Step Weave\'s Fiend Art\'s grade is a little low. It\'s a Three Fiends Art," she explained.
"What is a third-grade Fiend Art? Simply put, if one is able to produce three rays of abstruse fiend light with their Fiend Art, then it is considered a Three Fiends Art. Correspondingly, the number of rays one is able to create will determine the grade of it."
Li Luo laughed helplessly. Well, that was straightforward.
"So then what sort of Fiend Art do you cultivate, Sister Qing\'e?"
"A Four Fiends Art. I bought it from the college for 300,000 points. It\'s also the best Fiend Art that the school possesses."
Li Luo\'s expression turned slightly bitter. That was a significant amount of school points, points that he had originally planned to spend on a Duke Art.
"Young Lord, you don\'t have to be concerned about obtaining a Fiend Art. House Luolan\'s foundation may not run as deep as the college’s, but what we have stashed away are also things that the college might never possess." Ox Biaobiao chortled as he slapped his stomach.
Li Luo instantly felt his spirits lift upon hearing that. "Did my old man leave something wonderful behind?"
"You are truly astute. Your father did, in fact, leave behind a Fiend Art, it’s just that the requirements are extremely strict and most people will never be able to cultivate it. Otherwise, I would have passed it to Qing\'e to learn." Ox Biaobiao laughed teasingly.
"Even Sister Qing\'e is unable to do so?" Li Luo\'s expression turned a little strange. Just what kind of damned Fiend Art was this? Even a ninth-grade light resonance user could not satisfy its requirements?
"Well, it\'s not that Qing\'e lacked talent. It\'s just that this Fiend Art requires one to possess dragon resonant power," Ox Biaobiao explained.
"Possess dragon resonance power?"
Li Luo was absolutely elated. Haha! This was clearly something left behind just for him.
His old man was really reliable at times like this.
Looking at the eager Li Luo, Ox Biaobiao raised his hand, and a palm-sized scale appeared in it. The scale seemed to exude an aura of pressure, harking back to its source, an actual dragon. Countless words that were faintly discernible were engraved on it.
"This Fiend Art is known as the Three Revolutions Draconic Breath Fiend Art."
Just hearing that imposing name brought Li Luo immense joy. "That\'s so cool! What grade is it, huh?"
Ox Biaobiao lifted his palm with his fingers outstretched. "A Five Fiends Art. I\'m afraid not even the Astral Sage College might have something like this."
Li Luo was moved to the point of tears.
Ah. Such simple and plain acts were all it took to bring joy to a wealthy young master.
