Chapter 1007: Disagreement
Elder Sister Jin nodded.
With that, Li Luo felt a sense of happiness well up within him. It was rare to find an old friend on the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent, so it was a pleasant revelation.
"Why is Qing\'er on the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent? Did she not stay in the Xia Kingdom?" Li Luo thought that this was strange.
The way Elder Sister Jin addressed Lu Qing\'er was full of respect, and it demonstrated that her position in the family was not low.
The Golden Dragon Bank was similarly a peak power in the continent, very possibly several degrees stronger than the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li.
"Is it because of Lu Qing\'er\'s father?" Li Luo guessed in his heart. He was quite familiar with Yu Hongxi, and although she was the Xia Kingdom\'s Golden Dragon Bank president and possessed significant sway in the outer divine continent, it didn\'t mean much in the context of the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent. Thus, Lu Qing\'er’s current position should be due to her father.
No matter how one looked at it, her father definitely wielded great influence and power in the Golden Dragon Bank.
However, Li Luo didn\'t think too much about it. He immediately asked, "Did Qing\'er meet with some sort of danger? Let\'s go, take me there!" He did not hesitate, as they were extremely close. If she was in trouble, he would definitely lend a helping hand.
Li Luo\'s quick response allowed Elder Sister Jin to heave a short sigh of relief. It seemed like the relationship between the two was indeed not shallow. Otherwise, he would not have offered to go without hesitation.
"This actually involves an internal conflict of the Golden Dragon Bank. The Young Mistress received a mission to retrieve a treasure in the Spiritual Resonance Cave. Unfortunately, another faction came out to obstruct us and a battle ensued. The Young Mistress used an almighty frost seal secret art and sealed everyone except me. I\'ve come to get your help to assist her," Elder Sister Jin quickly explained.
Li Luo nodded. "Let\'s go, then."
Elder Sister Jin was taken aback. "Just you?"
One of the opponents was Mu Yao, and he had plenty of support. Furthermore, Mu Yao himself had stepped into the Lesser Heavenly Resonance Tier, while Li Luo was only at the Heavenly Pearl Tier! What could he achieve by himself?
Elder Sister Jin was more interested in the group dispatched by the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li. She guessed that this was the young mistress\' intention as well. With Li Luo\'s connections, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li would be good reinforcements. "Little Brother, I\'ll go with you!" Li Fengyi hurriedly exclaimed.
"You can\'t go by yourself," Li Jingtao continued as he expressed his intention to follow as well.
Deng Fengxian was no different. "You\'re the Dragon\'s Head. We can\'t let you run off alone to save others."
Lu Qingmei also smiled lightly. "Now that I\'ve taken your Spirit Resonance Golden Dew, if you need help, just ask."
Elder Sister Jin was a little surprised by what she was witnessing. It seemed that Li Luo\'s influence was quite extensive as well.
However, the ones who had volunteered were part of the younger generation, so their strength was lacking. She was naturally looking for the assistance of stronger individuals.
As a result, her gaze fell on the coldly watching Li Wuyuan.
This was the sort of assistance she wanted.
When faced with her gaze, Li Wuyuan\'s expression did not change. Instead, he frowned. "What are you bickering about? I don\'t support your intervention with the Golden Dragon Bank\'s internal conflicts. That has nothing to do with us. Additionally, we are guarding the treasure trove. If you leave, our strength will be reduced greatly. What will we do when another part shows up? This is something we are doing as a group. You need to think of the rest of us as well."
Li Fengyi retorted irritatedly, "Li Luo\'s friend is in danger. Why can\'t he render assistance in this situation?"
"This is related to the Golden Dragon Bank. It won\'t be a simple affair, and if you end up provoking strong enemies, who will take responsibility for it?" Li Wuyuan indifferently replied.
"In any case, I don\'t agree with assisting them. It will also be impossible for me to help out. I have to guard the treasure trove." With that, the discussion came to an end. He could tell that the lady from the Golden Dragon Bank wanted his help.
Elder Sister Jin\'s expression fell when she heard his words.
Just as she was about to reply, Li Luo waved his hand, indicating for her to stop. He had never assumed that Li Wuyuan would provide his help and thus was not at all frustrated by his refusal.
"Third Brother, should we wait for Cousin Lingjing to come out?" Li Jingtao asked.
Li Luo sighed deeply and shook his head. "My friend is in a precarious situation, and I don\'t know how much more time Cousin Lingjing will need in the treasure trove. I\'m afraid we might not have enough time. It doesn’t matter, I\'ll just go by myself."
His expression was calm, and although there were likely enemies more powerful than him, he didn\'t feel too afraid. The Three-tailed Heavenly Wolf had been hidden away for too long, and it was about time to rouse it.
"No! I have to go as well." Li Fengyi rejected his idea immediately, indicating that she would not let Li Luo go off on his own.
Li Jingtao and the rest nodded as well.
Seeing this, he smiled and nodded. "Alright, we\'ll go together, then."
He had the trump card known as the Three-tailed Heavenly Wolf up his sleeve, so even someone as powerful as Zhao Yan could be dealt with. Thus, he was not too worried.
When Li Wuyuan saw that there were others willing to follow Li Luo, his expression turned gloomy and he immediately spoke his mind. "Don\'t you think you’re being too unscrupulous?"
Faced with his repeated efforts to obstruct them, a hint of irritation also arose within Li Luo. "Don\'t forget that I am also a leader of the team. You don\'t have any right to oppose my actions."
Hearing his impolite words caused Li Wuyuan to turn furious. Frightening waves of energy rolled off his body like a raging tempest.
Li Luo\'s expression remained icy, indicating that there was no way he was going to step back.
In the end, the one who gave in was Li Wuyuan, who retracted his aura and spat out in an inhospitable tone, "If you wish to die, then so be it. I\'ll look forward to your explanation when casualties arise."
"I don\'t need your concern," Li Luo replied as he clasped his hands towards Elder Sister Jin respectfully. "I beseech your assistance in leading the way."
Elder Sister Jin glanced at the group who stood behind Li Luo. They were all at the low Heavenly Pearl Tier, which made her feel a little helpless. What could they do to improve the situation?
However, she could see that the rift between Li Luo and Li Wuyuan was not small, so it was impossible to bring the latter. Thus, she sighed deeply and nodded, turning and heading in the direction of the cave abode.
Li Luo led the way as the group rushed away.
Li Wuyuan snorted frostily as he watched them leave. "These brats can\'t discern how high the skies are nor how deep the earth is. Just a few lower Heavenly Pearl Tier cultivators and they dare to render assistance? If they want to die, then no one can stop them."
He flicked his robes in irritation, no longer planning to think about them as his gaze turned towards the treasure trove.
An hour after the group left, a loud sound came from the treasure trove. The countless runes on the outside of the ancient palace then began to quickly dim before vanishing completely.
With the runes’ disappearance, the ancient palace\'s stone gates began to fracture and shatter, clearly only being held together by the runes’ power.
A while later, beams of light shot out of the treasure trove, landing outside on the remains of the gates.
It was Li Lingjing’s group.
Li Wuyuan hurriedly walked over as he asked with a tone full of concern, "Is everyone alright? How are the gains from the treasure trove?"
Li Lingjing was uninterested in speaking with him and thus let Li Fuling explain. Her eyes then swept across the perimeter, but she realized that Li Luo was nowhere to be found. Frowning, she demanded, "Where is Li Luo?"
When Li Wuyuan heard her words, his expression turned a little stiff before he smiled. "Someone came over and claimed that an old friend of Li Luo\'s is in trouble and asked for his help. Thus, he took a group with him and left to render assistance."
Li Lingjing\'s beautiful, almond-shaped eyes gradually shrunk into slits and turned slightly malevolent. She glared at Li Wuyuan as she spoke icily.
"You let him follow some random fellow whom you don\'t even recognize? You let a bunch of low Heavenly Pearl Tier cultivators run off to rescue someone?"
Her cold, interrogating tone caused Li Wuyuan\'s expression to turn ugly. "I tried to stop him, but he was determined to leave. What else could I have done? I had to stay here and guard the perimeter. Was I supposed to just follow him?" He felt a little dissatisfied with the way she was treating him. He was a blood descendant of the main family of the Dragon\'s Blood Lineage. His personal status was much nobler than Li Lingjing’s, who had come from a branch family. If she was not a nine-pearl, he would never have bothered to take her words seriously.
"Sort out your gains from the treasure trove right now," Li Wuyuan impatiently commanded.
Li Lingjing\'s face turned emotionless and a hint of killing intent momentarily arose in her eyes. She then raised her staff, and it began to emit boundless amounts of poisonous light. Without speaking another word, she swung towards Li Wuyuan\'s skull.
"Sort out my gains? I\'ll sort you out with my staff! How about that!?" Her chilling voice was coupled with immense amounts of poisonous light and resonant power as the staff descended.
