Chapter 516: Playing (4)
“What do you think, you charming little troublemaker?” Zhou Chao held Jiang Li’s hand as they headed towards the large bathroom on the second floor, and the sound of water filled the room.
The night passed peacefully, and as the sun began to rise the next day, the voices of many people outside could be heard.
Zhou Chao quietly got out of bed and approached the window, looking out to see many men and women of all ages in simple attire heading towards the Ming and Qing Dynasty architectural area.
“Are these extras?” Zhou Chao glanced at the time; it was only 6:30 in the morning. He thought for a moment, then closed the window.
As he lay back down on the bed, he saw Jiang Li staring at him with wide eyes.
“Did I wake you up?” He gently kissed Jiang Li’s forehead and pulled her into his arms.
“No, I just felt you weren’t here, so I woke up.”
“Let’s go back to sleep for a while. It’s still early.”
“Mmm!” The two of them cuddled up and fell asleep again.
It wasn’t until the sun was high in the sky, and their backs were being warmed by its rays, that they finally got up from the bed.
“You said we would visit the two nearby attractions today, but it’s already ten o’clock. It’s your fault for keeping me up so late last night; now my chest feels a bit sore.” Jiang Li said, glancing at her fair skin.
“Uh… my bad. We’ll go after we have lunch.” Zhou Chao knew he had been a bit excessive last night, keeping Jiang Li awake until late into the night.
“I want to eat the iron pot stew from yesterday!”
“Alright, your wish is my command.”
Hearing this, Jiang Li happily headed to the bathroom.
After getting ready, it was already almost 11 o’clock. This time, neither of them opted to walk. They hopped into their BMW and headed straight for the restaurant.
Upon entering, Jiang Li couldn’t help but call out enthusiastically, “Boss, two of us, please hurry up.”
The owner, recognizing these two familiar faces, immediately instructed the waitstaff to expedite their orders. They couldn’t afford to upset them; who knew if their restaurant would still be open tomorrow.
The service staff this time were even more efficient, and the portions of the dishes were slightly more generous than before. Zhou Chao and Jiang Li couldn’t help but think that maybe the owner was intentionally taking extra care of them as returning customers.
“It’s really delicious. I feel like I could eat two big bowls of rice again,” Jiang Li commented with a slight blush. She wondered why she used the word “again.” Seeing Zhou Chao’s teasing look, Jiang Li huffed and focused on her meal.
After finishing their meal, the two of them didn’t linger and immediately hopped back into the car, heading straight for the Mingqing Historical Residence scenic area.
“It’s so crowded.” As soon as they arrived at the Ming and Qing Dynasty area, they saw a crowd of people heading inside, most of them were elderly tourists with tour groups.
“Let’s go.” Zhou Chao held Jiang Li’s hand and walked towards the ticket booth. The area around the main entrance was too crowded, and they didn’t want to get separated.
With his exceptional physical fitness, Zhou Chao managed to create a path for them through the crowd and successfully entered the Ming and Qing Dynasty area with Jiang Li.
“Brother Chao, there are over twenty different attractions in just this one area. Are we going to spend the whole day here?” Jiang Li looked at the map of the Ming and Qing Dynasty area and asked.
“Not necessarily, we’ll just visit the more famous ones like Qinhuai River, Confucius Temple, Qinhuai Eight Wonders, and the Yuanming New Garden Exhibition Hall. We can glance at the others on the way.” Zhou Chao marked out a rough route on the map. Although they could see everything, some places weren’t very interesting.
Following the flow of people, the two of them set off.
After walking for just a few minutes, they spotted a familiar sign. “Brother Chao, where’s the Seven Heroes Town? Isn’t this where they filmed ‘Legend of the Martial World’?”
“Where do you want to stand? I’ll take some pictures of you!” Zhou Chao pointed to the Seven Heroes Town sign.
Jiang Li playfully jogged over and struck several poses.
“See, are you satisfied?” Jiang Li looked at herself in the phone and nodded in satisfaction after a while.
“Brother Chao, your photography skills are impressive.”
“Of course, don’t forget who your husband is.”
“Hmph!”
Zhou Chao and Jiang Li spent over two hours exploring the entire Ming and Qing Dynasty area. As the longest historical area in Hengdian, it featured many Ming and Qing Dynasty-style buildings. They experienced the “Ten-Mile Qinhuai” and visited various museums and exhibition halls.
However, after completing this round of exploration, even the shopping enthusiast Jiang Li began to feel some soreness in her legs.
“It’s a pity we didn’t run into any film crews.”
“No worries, we still have several other scenic areas to visit. You never know, we might encounter one.”
“That’s true. Let’s go, onto the next attraction!” Jiang Li’s enthusiasm suddenly soared.
“How about we go to the Dream City in the afternoon? Consider it a rest, and we can explore other places tomorrow.” Thinking about his own aching and swollen legs, Zhou Chao quickly suggested.
“Dream City sounds good too. Let’s go!” Jiang Li didn’t hesitate. After all, it was all about having fun, and it didn’t matter where they went. It was just a matter of time.
