Chapter 95 - 98: Surgery Completed
“I got out of line.” Samuel Mckinley hurriedly shut his mouth and stood to one side, wishing he could slap himself for his loose lips.
However, even though he was always by Mr. Lucas’s side, he still couldn’t understand why Mr. Lucas had become like this.
His neatly ironed white shirt and tailored jacket had long been crumpled into a ball, and the clean white shirt was even stained with bright red blood from Lily Gray’s body.
Those bloodstains, against the white shirt, looked extremely eye-catching.
Didn’t Mr. Lucas have a high level of cleanliness?
How could he tolerate wearing clothes like this while waiting outside the operating room for an hour?
Mr. Lucas… could it be that he has fallen for Miss Gray?
If that’s the case, what should the other girl do?
Does Mr. Lucas still have any feelings for her…
Samuel Mckinley shook his head abruptly. What was he doing? How dare he pry into Mr. Lucas’s inner thoughts?!!!
“Samuel Mckinley.” Just then, Aidan Lucas’s cold voice sounded.
“Yes, Mr. Lucas.”
“Get all the footage from tonight’s banquet venue, not just the banquet hall, but all the rooms in that villa.”
“Yes, I’ll do it right away.”
Samuel went downstairs and ran into Mrs. Lucas Emily Taylor, who had just arrived.
So in order to show the lady the way, he turned back again.
“Aidan… How is Lily Gray?” As soon as Emily Taylor arrived, she expressed an unusual concern for Lily Gray.
Aidan Lucas looked at his hurriedly arriving mother with cold eyes, “In the operating room, I don’t know the situation yet.”
“I’ll wait with you.” Emily Taylor sat down nonchalantly, her unusual behavior catching Aidan Lucas’s attention.
Emily Taylor was his mother, and he knew her well. She normally hated coming to places like hospitals, especially since she didn’t like Lily Gray at all.
“Mom.” He suddenly spoke up, “You took Lily to the banquet tonight, right?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“Since Lily was with you, how could she suddenly roll down the stairs?” Aidan Lucas’s eyes were deep, his tightly pursed mouth revealing a hint of coldness. Even Emily Taylor was frightened facing Aidan Lucas like this.
“Er… I came here to tell you about this matter.”
Emily Taylor forced a smile on her face. Emma Shaw was her sister-in-law, and although she had gone too far, Emily Taylor had no choice but to protect her.
She was easily influenced, and although she was angry about Emma Shaw’s actions at first, after Emma Shaw had cried and begged her, Emily Taylor still personally came to speak up for Emma Shaw.
After all, Lily Gray was also at fault.
Emma Shaw was her elder, and it was only because of her quarrel with her elder that Emma Shaw pushed her in a fit of anger.
“Lily was accidentally pushed down the stairs by your aunt… But believe me, your aunt didn’t mean to do it, she was just so angry that she…”
As Emily Taylor spoke, she realized that Aidan Lucas’s face had become colder and colder, and she couldn’t say anything more.
Aidan Lucas looked at the elegant lady sitting next to him, her hair still neatly in place and her dress still prim and proper even after her daughter-in-law had rolled down the stairs.
Once again, he felt disappointment in the woman before him.
His thin lips curled into a mocking smile. Looking at the alarmed mother in front of him, he said indifferently, “It’s okay, Aunt was just careless, and with you pleading on her behalf, how could 1 blame her? But there is something I forgot to tell you.”
“Wha-what is it?” For some reason, Emily Taylor suddenly had a bad feeling.
At the next second, she heard Aidan Lucas’s deep voice.
“Lily was not alone when she fell down the stairs. Inside her belly, she was carrying your grandson.”
“What!”
Just then, the door to the operating room opened, and Mr. Hammond emerged from inside.
Aidan Lucas no longer paid attention to the distressed Emily Taylor and stood up to walk towards Mr. Hammond.
Mr. Hammond had mentally prepared himself before coming out.
But when he met Aidan Lucas’s dark, seemingly devouring eyes, he couldn’t help but shiver.
“Mr. Lucas… the child…”
