Chapter 407: He Bought a Mountain
Soon, Baron Lawrence stopped with her in front of a graveyard.
The graveyard seemed to be under construction, with the tomb chamber not yet sealed. Inside it, there was a distinctive big coffin, designed for two people to embrace.
There were relief carvings on it, embedded with precious stones.
It was so luxurious and extravagant that it didn’t look like a coffin, but more like a piece of art.
Enna Clark couldn’t help but feel that the woman carved on the coffin looked a bit like her, but she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination.
The thought was absurd.
How could the person carved on it be her?
Impossible.
She must be overthinking it.
A manager-like figure hurried over with a few workers. Seeing them, he fawned, “Young Master Lawrence, what wind has blown you here? If I had known you were coming, I would have greeted you outside.”
After flattering Baron Lawrence, he noticed Enna Clark next to him.
He was taken aback at first.
Then, as if understanding something, he asked with a smile, “Are you Ms. Clark?”
Enna Clark was surprised that he knew her and nodded her head, “Yes, do you know me?”
“Not exactly. This is the first time I’ve formally met you, Ms. Clark. But I have seen many photos of you before, so I suppose we are acquainted.”
His words only added to Enna Clark’s confusion.
What did he mean by seeing her photos before they met?
“Ms. Clark, are you here to check on the progress with Young Master
Lawrence?” The manager tried to find another topic when she didn’t respond.
Enna Clark was genuinely confused and asked subconsciously, “What progress?”
“The graveyard,” the manager blurted out, “Didn’t you know? Young Master Lawrence bought this mountain to build a resting place for you both a hundred years later.”
He had been in the funeral industry for a long time and had seen all sorts of romantic gestures.
But he had never seen such a romantic man.
Buying an entire mountain to build a joined burial site for a woman.
This kind of romance was more extravagant than diamond ring proposals and helicopter confessions he had seen on TV, reaching deep into one’s bones!
Even as a man, he couldn’t help but feel his heart racing when he first heard about it.
How much love and dedication must one have to make arrangements for their burial together a hundred years in advance?
It was like the eternal love mentioned in TV series.
But while TV series only mentioned it, this was the real deal!
Enna Clark looked unbelievingly at the man beside her—
“Stop talking nonsense!” Baron Lawrence frowned displeasedly, his brow furrowed enough to squash a fly, “Get lost!”
He had only brought Enna Clark to have a look, but this man was spewing unnecessary words.
With everything said and done, what was there left for him to say?
The manager didn’t understand why flattering Young Master Lawrence would result in a scolding. Although he didn’t understand, he still wore a smile and slunk away with a few workers.
Once again, just the two of them were left on the hillside.
Enna Clark looked at the unfinished burial site, her throat dry, and couldn’t resist asking, “Baron Lawrence, is what the manager said true?”
“What’s true or false?”
“I mean, is what the manager said about you buying this mountain to build a burial site true or false?” She didn’t know how to describe her feelings at the moment.
An indescribable shock filled her.
Apart from shock, she couldn’t describe her emotions at this moment..
