Chapter 58: Successfully Avenged!
The flash of blue smashed through its attack and moved towards it without facing the slightest decrease in its strength.
It saw it coming towards it at blinding speed.
Xie Yang left it with no choice but to abandon high ground.
It jumped away from its spot as the blue arrow Xie Yang made using his spiritual energy drilled a sizeable hole in the ceiling.
While cracks spread out of its corners and gave a new look to that specific spot of the ceiling, the skeleton lizard landed ten steps behind Xie Yang.
It stepped right on the trap he had prepared for it in advance by shouting to others to assist him, and even though he had set it up in front of its eyes, it still failed to discern it.
He revealed a smile, not at all troubled that he had his back exposed to the dreadful enemy, for he knew that for its mistake, it was going to pay a considerable price, which was most likely going to be its life.
Bam!
It hadn\'t even stabilized all four of its limbs on the ground before Chen Yuan ran into it like a big and angry bull, smashing his heavy armored self into it. He had been waiting for a moment to assist him, and the moment he saw him forcing the skeleton lizard out of its spot and onto the floor, he knew that his chance to shine had come.
Pushed by him, it flew straight out like a broken kite, and its back crashed on the wall with a dull thud.
"Now\'s the time to put an end to it!"
Chen Yuan shouted out a command, telling the rest to release their attacks.
Tang Yongnian, Mo Mingzhu, and Mao Yue launched their attacks at the skeleton lizard as one. The senior and the only male among the three used his secret technique to imbue spiritual energy into his daggers, making them become spiritual daggers before hurling them at it.
Only spiritual energy could harm skeletons and spirits, and this was basic knowledge, so he had to use 2-3rd of his spiritual energy to make his weapons glow blue. Mo Mingzhu used her auxiliary spiritual technique to enhance the sharpness and sturdiness of his spiritual dagger. At the same time, Mao Yue unleashed a spiritual technique of her own to increase their speed.
Their supportive skills effectively increased the damage the spiritual daggers dealt it.
Chen Yuan thought that it had died as he could never consider that anything would remain alive after facing the most powerful combo of his group.
It was, to his surprise, still alive.
He led his guard down for only a second, but it took advantage of that very moment.
It released a roar that paralyzed Chen Yuan before lunging towards him with intense murderous intent.
It only had a breath left in it and was making a desperate attack to at least take one of its enemies down to hell with it.
Tong Yongnian, Mo Mingzhu, and Mao Yue were too far away and too unprepared to aid him, and they could only watch in despair as its claws came closer to his neck.
Chen Yuan snapped shut his eyes in regret.
\'I should have listened to her.\'
\'Damn it all.\'
\'It looks like this is how I die.\'
\'It was a good life, but I failed to fulfill much of my dream.\'
No one was looking forward to such a scene except the ever-cautious Xie Yang.
He stepped between them at the very last second and brandished his sword, whose blade glistened in mesmerizing blue, at it.
It smashed the bigged bone on its head apart, effectively killing it in the process.
"No one is going down on my watch."
Xie Yang looked incredibly heroic at this moment, and those words that he uttered, tripled his valiant aura.
Chen Yuan, who he had helped to escape death\'s clutches time and time again, was moved to manly tears by him.
If the situation ever turned bad for him, he swore to help Xie Yang in the future, even if it meant giving up his life.
"You\'ve avenged your juniors. If you turn back now, none will blame you. But I would like it if you can join me in exploring the rest of this place."
"When did I avenge them?"
"Take a careful look at it."
Chen Yuan heard what the young man before him said and raised his head. He saw Xie Yang pointing at the skeleton lizard. He carefully examined it, using his blue and shiny spiritual energy to force the darkness to recede to the wall, light up the place and illuminate the monster\'s body.
Chen Yuan and his sect mates noticed that two medallions of their sect hung from its neck.
It was the killer of their outer sect members!
They further confirmed it after searching the dark passageway and finding fleshless bones and a magic pouch, both of which very likely belonged to their sect members.
Chen Yuan wanted to repay Xie Yang, so he chose to explore what lay behind the gates with him. Mo Mingzhu still carried no intention of returning home without her entire group, so she followed them too. Beside her was Mao Yue, who was feeling troubled as she could sense something terrible behind the. However, she still went with them. First off, she couldn\'t leave the light to her life alone.
Secondly, she could tell that whatever danger they were going to come across would be something that they would survive because of Xie Yang. Tang Yongnian had come so far just to reach the treasure room of the secret spirit realm, and now that it was before his eyes, even if he was afraid, he had no intention of stepping back.
Xie Yang pressed his hands on the gate and tried to open it.
Push!!!
Nothing happened!
