Chapter 2272 - 2272: Mission 3

Taken something?

Qian Ziang sneered upon hearing the accusation.

It was merely Shen Lianxue’s refusal to accept the annulment of their engagement and her insistence on marrying him. She seemed oblivious to her own limitations, with her meager cultivation. None of the noblewomen in the Southern Mist Kingdom had such negligible martial skills. Shen Lianxue and her mother were both utterly inept, unable to cultivate at all.

The very idea of marrying such a woman was laughable to Qian Ziang.

Initially, he had no intention of stepping out to address the matter. However, upon further consideration, he saw an opportunity to make things unequivocally clear. He wanted to ensure that Shen Lianxue abandoned any lingering hopes of marrying him.

“Very well, let’s go outside and see what she wants,” Qian Ziang decided.

With that decision, he strolled out of his quarters.

As he emerged, Qian Ziang was taken aback by the size of the crowd gathered outside. He had underestimated the extent of the spectacle.

Nonetheless, he quickly composed himself. The onlookers were primarily drawn by Shen Lianxue’s presence, and their interest didn’t concern the Qian Family. Qian Ziang didn’t feel particularly concerned about the situation; in fact, he welcomed the additional witnesses.

The more people, the better.

He intended to clarify matters so thoroughly that Shen Lianxue would abandon any lingering hopes. Perhaps she would even take her frustrations home and cease causing any turtner trouD1e.

“You’re looking for me?” Qian Ziang said in a condescending tone.

Qian Ziang was accustomed to being dismissive of Shen Lianxue, but no matter how he treated her, just one word from him would make her feel touched and grateful.

“The engagement has already been terminated. Stop fantasizing about me. Go back,” Qian Ziang expressed his disdain.

From Gu Chaoyan’s perspective, the annulment of the engagement wasn’t an unforgivable act. She had no intention of marrying him, so breaking it off was the logical course of action. However, Qian Ziang’s actions extended beyond merely ending the engagement.

It wasn’t the termination of the engagement itself that irked her, but rather Qian Ziang’s deceitful behavior. He had been aware that Shen Lianxue possessed numerous mystical weapons from her mother, yet he had manipulated her into surrendering them before abruptly ending the engagement. Gu Chaoyan had no intention of letting him off so easily.

Qian Ziang harbored numerous ulterior motives, and it was his scheming nature that had ultimately led to Shen Lianxue’s demise.

“Dream about you? Why don’t you look in the mirror? Examine your own appearance. Is there any reason for me to have delusions about you?” Shen Lianxue didn’t hold back and relayed the Qian Family’s message to Qian Ziang.

“I came here to remind you that, even after ending our engagement, Young Master Qian has yet to return the items I lent him.”

Qian Ziang appeared taken aback.

Items?

Lent?

“Those items are mine. Since when did you lend them to me?” Qian Ziang retorted confidently.

Gu Chaoyan cast a look at Qian Ziang as if he were a fool.

She had initially expected it might require some effort to prove that Qian Ziang had her possessions. Unexpectedly, he readily admitted to it, making the situation much simpler.

This was more than she had hoped for.

“Give? Who do you think you are? Why would I lend you so many cultivation artifacts?”
