Chapter 142 - 142: Rescued

Qiao Yin sat in front of someone’s tombstone, her legs tied with ropes, and a sharp knife hanging above her head.

This situation was as bizarre as anything could be, but she was undistracted. Picking up a needle, she sterilized it and skillfully inserted it into the young kidnapper’s head.

She silently apologized to her mother in her heart, for she had once sworn not to treat strangers at her mother’s grave.

When she used to practice acupuncture, she would use herself for practice, or stick the needles into her grandmother, her uncle, or some small animals.

She could have made a zoo with all the animals she had helped, but she never treated humans.

Because it was when her mother had been treating a patient that she was brutally murdered by that patient.

This event had caused a huge trauma for her in her early years and there was a time when she couldn’t stand the sight of blood.

It was her grandmother who cared for her and slowly treated this problem for her.

She had thought that she wouldn’t treat humans like her mother did. If she could save a dog, she would prefer to do that instead of saving a human.

Because some people never appreciate, and you might get killed while trying to save them.

However, she was under special circumstances now and had no other choice.

The silver needles were steadily inserted into the skin of the young kidnapper. Even though she had not used these needles for quite some time, it didn’t affect her smooth and proficient movement. Because this was a basic skill she had been practicing since childhood.

When she inserted the tenth needle, the young kidnapper slightly moved.

On the eleventh needle, he suddenly found his vision clearing up.

He hastily said, “Dad, my vision isn’t blurry anymore! I can see clearly! There’s no fog tonight!”

The kidnapper was greatly overjoyed. He didn’t threaten Qiao Yin with the knife anymore. After all, she couldn’t run away with her legs tied. He moved to his son, tears welled up in his eyes. “That’s great, really great, son, you’re saved! Never thought we kidnapped a divine doctor!”

He himself had some eyesight issues, so hearing his son’s vision recovered, he couldn’t wait for Qiao Yin to stick some needles into his head as well.

Qiao Yin really did treat him eventually, and he quickly experienced the joy of regaining his vision as well.

Even the headache that had been bothering him for a long time was greatly relieved. He felt much more relaxed.

When the day started to break, Qiao Yin completed the acupuncture session.

While putting away the needles she said, “One session of acupuncture can’t cure completely. Your son needs multiple treatments before his tumor can fully recede. However, it has likely eased his headaches for quite some time.”

She was creating a way out for herself, in case the kidnapper thought she was no longer useful after curing the diseases and decided to finish her off.

The kidnapper was very excited and was about to say something, when he saw a few figures appearing in the cemetery.

Then a police dog pounced over.

He yanked Qiao Yin towards him, placing her behind his own body.

Qiao Yin was somewhat startled. She initially thought that the kidnapper wanted to use her to block the police dog, but as it turned out, it was to protect her.

From not too far away, Lingche and the oncoming police were all taken aback!

A kidnapper protecting the hostage?

How strange did this scene look?

The kidnapper quickly moved to kneel down on the ground with his son. Both raised their hands high in the air to signal surrender.

Only Qiao Yin was standing there, looking less like a hostage, and more like a ringleader.

The sun rose and cast its golden light on her pale face, adding an eye-catching radiance.

A helicopter circled over her head, the propellers stirring strong gusts of wind, causing her long hair to flutter wildly.

The police dog, showing great discernment, lingered in front of her, not attacking but guarding her.

The policemen, fully armed, rushed over. Some restrained the kidnappers, some cut the ropes on her legs helping her regain freedom, while others draped a blanket around her, shielding her as she walked slowly forward.

Noises filled her ears, unreal feelings of being rescued engulfed Qiao Yin. She was no longer capable of distinguishing who was speaking nor could she clearly hear the words.

Then, she saw Lingche standing still in front of her.

His eyes revealed a complex expression, one she found hard to interpret.

But that didn’t matter now, did it?

Her legs, numb from being constrained for so long, wouldn’t obey. Yet, she still managed to take a determined step forward, walking past Lingche.

However, in the next instant, he held her hand..
