Chapter 148 - 148 Sometimes You Really Need a Man

The bodyguard, following orders, stepped forward and gestured towards the man.

The man was towering and robust, having hardly ever lost a fight before, which made him dare to buy the problematic house — it did not matter who the owner was, he would beat them away once they showed up.

Infuriated that his door had been kick-opened, he clenched his fist and swung it at the man’s head.

However, Yu Fei did not even dodge. The instant the man swung his fist, Yu Fei swiftly grabbed his wrist and twisted it back.

A cry of pain rang out.

As though he hadn’t heard it, Yu Fei swiftly punched the man’s shoulder, chest, and stomach, then kicked him flying out the door.

With a “thump” accompanied by the man’s screams, he landed like a dead pig on the concrete outside.

The whole process took just two short minutes.

Continuing, he then approached the woman. In her terrified eyes, he kicked her out as well.

Another scream echoed.

The bodyguard calmly stepped back to Lu Lingche’s side and said, “President Lu.”

“Throw them all outside, along with their stuff.”

Yu Fei nodded and walked to the door. In their terrified eyes, he dragged each one down from the second floor to the first and threw both outside.

He quickly returned, throwing the suitcases the couple had brought in as well. Only then did he step out and stand by the door.

Upon seeing how swiftly he had resolved her predicament, Qiao Yin was a bit grateful. She said, “Thank you, and apologies for the trouble.”

The bodyguard hastily replied, “Young madam is too polite, I’m just doing my job.”

Lu Lingche frowned at Qiao Yin, “Why are you thanking him? Shouldn’t you be thanking me instead?”

Qiao Yin looked at him and then at the door, “It seems like my door is broken.”

Lu Lingche commanded, “Yu Fei! Why did I tell you to open the door and you are kicking it? Hurry up and fix it!”

The bodyguard was breaking out in a cold sweat, “Yes, of course, President Lu. I’ll fix it right away.”

Similar situations in the past had led him to resort to kicking doors open, a simple and efficient approach. Accustomed to this, he forgot that this was Qiao Yin’s home now.

However, he quickly repaired the door and even arranged a new password lock to replace the couple’s lock.

Once everything was sorted, Lu Lingche left with the bodyguard.

Qiao Yin stood by the window, watching Lu Lingche’s car leave the compound, her gaze lingering for a long time.

Now she somewhat understood why her mother chose to marry. Having a man in the house really made a difference.

In retrospect, her mother may not have loved her father that much. She just needed a man’s help to deal with some issues that were too much for her to handle alone.

Fortunately, Qiao Haidong was good looking and obedient to her. He was a reliable tool and thus, her mother married him.

Unfortunately, her mother never correctly gauged him, since Qiao Haidong’s obedience was all pretense. After marrying his new wife, he neglected and ignored his daughter.

As for today, after reaping all the benefits, he first sold the formula left for her by her mother, then sold the house left for her. She almost became homeless because of him.

But for now, she was too tired and lacked the energy to confront Qiao Haidong.

She made up her mind to settle this score later.

The house was a mess which she lacked the energy to tidy up. She merely took a shower and then went to bed.

Luckily, the couple had just moved in and hadn’t cleaned out her belongings. Her bedroom remained almost unchanged, otherwise she wouldn’t even have a place to sleep.

On the other side, Lu Lingche returned home, took a shower, changed his clothes and, just as he was about to go downstairs, he saw Lu Yanxi rushing in, “Second Brother!”

Lu Lingche furrowed his brows, “What are you here for?”

Lu Yanxi replied, “I saw the news that the kidnappers have been caught and the hostages have been rescued! Where is my second sister-in-law?”
