Chapter 358: A Monarch’s Treasure, Congregation Of Experts

Chapter 358: A Monarch’s Treasure, Congregation Of Experts

Faint clouds hang high in the sky, southbound geese yonder fly—autumn.

Two figures—a big one and a small one—raced across the boundless plain in low altitude before they finally arrived above a tribe.

It was a large tribe with tall structures, occupying vast land, which contained countless herded Boundless Great Beasts and dried meat being hung around.

It was a rare tribe in the Boundless Plane, where resources were aplenty while buildings were magnificent.

Tragically, like other tribes, dead bodies littered the wilderness while most buildings had collapsed. It was evident that it had gone through a massacre.

“These damn devils!”

A giant gnashed his teeth as hatred was written all over his tender face. He was the giant child Meng Lei just saved—Samo.

A cute name indeed.

“Men or women, old or young were all slaughtered mercilessly. This is tantamount to the devil’s descent!” Meng Lei had great emotions.

“Uncle, can you help me take revenge?”

Samo looked at Meng Lei with hopeful looks in his eyes.

“Revenge?”

Meng Lei raised an eyebrow before saying righteously, “I have descended upon the Boundless Plane to destroy these extraterrestrial demons and save your world!”

Samo possessed the thunder-origin divine body, and Meng Lei planned to bring him under his control. Hence, he needed to establish an image as a symbol of justice in Samo’s heart.

“Thank you, Uncle! You’re such a nice person!” Samo said gratefully.

“I’m not that nice. I just hate to see the atrocities committed by those evil extraterrestrial demons!” Meng Lei felt more and more guilty the more he said those. “Let’s move on and keep going. We must catch up to them as soon as possible!”

“Yes!”

Meng Lei kept the bodies with a wave of hands and continued his journey with Samo.

After hurrying for the entire trip, they finally reached another tribe of Giants. However, this tribe was suffering from the most horrific disaster in their history at that very moment.

A bunch of Colossal Dragons had descended upon this tribe, carrying out their inhumane massacre.

These Dark Demonic Dragons—other than one high-level Great Demon God—were all mid-level Great Demon Gods.

They were spitting black flames to burn the tall structures, massacring the Boundless Giants.

Despite this tribe’s strongest giant’s best efforts, there was nothing he could do as he got trampled on by the Dark Demonic Dragons like a toy.

The other Boundless Giants were either trembling as they awaited their inescapable fate or getting burned into blackening dry corpses. It was a horrific sight to behold.

“Uncle!”

Samo looked at Meng Lei and begged.

Meng Lei took a step into the skies above the tribe, with his voice thundering across the place.

“You damned extraterrestrial demons, how dare you kill the innocent and slaughter the weak!”

The Dark Demonic Dragons who were ravaging the tribe were taken aback slightly as they looked up in the sky to see Meng Lei towering over them. They were amused immediately.

“Where did this worm come from to be a busybody? Die!”

A Dark Demonic Dragon roared and sprayed out a black dragon breath.

“Be careful, Uncle!”

A frightened Samo screamed as he could sense the threat of the deadly dragon breath from afar. It contained terrifying destructive powers as it was just like boiling lava plus poisonous acid—blazing hot and highly corrosive.

A drop of that would burn and corrode Samo into nothing in which not even the bones would remain.

“Hah!”

Meng Lei calmly extended his right hand with a light clap. A gigantic palm a few million feet long appeared out of nowhere and pressed toward this Dark Demonic Dragon.

Boom!

The gigantic palm crashed down and decimated the black dragon’s breath in an instant before crushing this Dark Demonic Dragon and turned it into a meat sauce.

“Yay! Uncle is so mighty and powerful!” Samo shouted in great excitement.

“No! Bartulu!!”

“He killed Bartulu!”

“Die!”

Meng Lei’s action opened Pandora’s box as he enraged the rest of the Dark Demonic Dragons.

They bellowed and roared as they charged at Meng Lei, trying to tear him into pieces.

“You all have overestimated yourselves!”

With a wave of the hand, thousands of spears shot out and flooded more than 30 Dark Demonic Dragons, turning them into swiss cheese.

“Ding! 1 Dark Demonic Dragon killed. 61 million Divinity Crystals gained!”

“Ding! 1 Dark Demonic Dragon killed. 63 million Divinity Crystals gained!”

“Ding...”

“S-so powerful!”

Samo widened his eyes in disbelief—the ability to wipe out over 30 powerful extraterrestrial demons. How powerful was that?

“Uncle, you’re so incredible!”

Samo’s eyes were brimming with idolization.

“Work hard with your cultivation, and you’ll be as great!” Meng Lei patted Samo’s head and smiled. “Let’s proceed down and check it out!”

“Yeap!”

The two landed on the ground. The Boundless Giants that survived looked at Meng Lei with terror-stricken faces, while that strongest giant of the tribe hurriedly dragged his body to block off Meng Lei.

He was known as Pico. After getting trampled on previously, he was already heavily injured. However, his resilient eyes still stared at Meng Lei and Samo vigilantly.

In Pico’s eyes, Meng Lei was an enemy much more terrifying than the Dark Demonic Dragons!

“Don’t be nervous. I’m not here to hurt you.” Meng Lei signaled for them to calm down.

“Hey, Mister, this uncle is here to help protect us!

“It was he who saved me and killed every extraterrestrial demon along the way to save us Boundless Giants! Uncle is a good person!”

“Good person?” Pico was taken aback for a moment as he looked at Samo with a puzzled look. “You’re a Boundless Giant!”

“Yeap!”

Samo nodded.

“Kid, he fooled you!”

Pico looked at Meng Lei with hostility. “He’s different from us! He’s an extraterrestrial demon like those dragons who will only slaughter us. He won’t help us!”

“Fool you?” Meng Lei scoffed. “Why do you think I need to lie to all of you?”

“Hmph! Who doesn’t know that all of you demons will do anything for the Monarch’s treasure?”

Hatred filled Pico’s eyes. “Let me tell you this, I have no clue where the Monarch’s treasure is! Even if I knew, I wouldn’t ever say it! You disgusting demons!”

“Monarch’s treasure?” Meng Lei perked up. “What’s the Monarch’s treasure?”

“Stop acting!” Pico said coldly, “You thought I’d tell you where it’s hidden just like that? You can stop daydreaming!”

“I don’t care whether you believe it or not.” Meng Lei sneered. “Samo, I’m going to continue hunting those extraterrestrial demons down in other places. Are you staying here or leaving with me?”

Samo took a glance at Pico and shook his head. “Uncle, I’m leaving with you!”

Although Pico and the rest were all Boundless Giants, he did not know any of them. Hence, he would prefer to follow Meng Lei.

“Let’s go then.”

Meng Lei smiled in satisfaction and disappeared from this tribe along with Samo.

“...”

...

“Samo, what’s the Monarch’s treasure?” Meng Lei asked on the way.

Samo did not doubt him, so he explained, “The Monarch’s treasure is the treasure left behind by the greatest, strongest ever Boundless King in the legends. It’s said that it was the Boundless King’s lifelong riches!”

“Then do you know where it’s hidden?” Meng Lei asked casually.

“I don’t know,” answered Samo as he shook his head.

“The Monarch’s treasure is just a legend. Naturally, no one would know its exact location. Wait! Maybe the Great Prophet might know something about it!”

“Great Prophet?”

Meng Lei was puzzled.

“The Great Prophet is the greatest Boundless Giant on the Boundless Plane. He lives in the Monarch Mountain, guarding the statue of the Boundless King for his entire lifetime!”

Awe flashed across Samo’s eyes. “The legends said that the Great Prophet’s ancestor was the Boundless King’s right-hand man, following the Boundless King in his domination over the vast universe!”

“I see.”

After half an hour, they arrived in another tribe. Still, Meng Lei and Samo were a step too late.

This huge tribe did not survive the disaster as it was massacred. Meng Lei kept the bodies with a wave of hands and continued forward.

Onward...

Kill...

Onward...

Kill...

Of course, Meng Lei did not travel forward blindly as he moved in the direction of the center of the continent.

After some devious questioning around the continent, he already had the rough idea that the Monarch Mountain was in the middle of the continent.

Meng Lei believed that the experts of each existential plane were heading to Monarch Mountain as well. After all, no matter how tough the Boundless Giants were, they could not withstand the harshest questioning of all—reading their spirit memory!

Anything the giants knew or not would have been known to the experts of other existential planes. Hence, the Monarch Mountain would be unavoidably exposed to everyone.

The truth spoke itself as Meng Lei had expected. Experts from each existential plane had gathered at the Monarch Mountain. By the time Meng Lei reached the mountain, most of the experts were there already.

Contrary to what he had imagined, the mountain was unlike the undulating nature of other divine mountains. Instead, it was like a holy sword straight in between heaven and earth.

In summary: it was thin and high.

Standing at the mountain foot was like standing under the Korin Tower, where half of the mountain was covered up by thick clouds, while the top of the mountain was not to be seen.

At the moment, two sides were in a standoff.

One side was the massive numbers of Boundless Giants—they formed a densely-packed blockade around the mountain as they guarded the Monarch Mountain firmly.

Opposite them were experts from other existential planes—Colossal Dragons, Angels, Giant Elephants, Behemoths, Immortal Fire Phoenixes, Frost Gods...

Divine Netherworld Phoenixes, Fallen Angels, Abyss Demons, Purgatory Kings, Dark Demonic Dragons, Hell Dragon Gods, Necromancers, Fire Demons, Dead Souls, the Undead...

The sheer numbers were no less than a million.

The weakest ones were mid-level higher deities and mid-level Great Demon Gods. High-level higher deities and high-level Great Demon Gods were aplenty as well.

And, of course, the Fairy Goddess and other goddesses were there as well. They joined up with goddesses from other Divine Realms to make up over 300 goddesses.

At that moment, the experts of different existential planes surrounded and jammed up the Monarch Mountain. Cold, greedy eyes wished they could devour the mountain immediately.

“This massive formation is unprecedented!” Dodola commented. “Meng Lei, have you seen so many experts on the same stage?”

“Not really!”

Meng Lei licked his lips as he swallowed his saliva. His eyes were overt and filled with greed, as though they had seen a bunch of portable treasuries.

What about the Monarch’s Treasure?

In Meng Lei’s eyes, a million experts in front of him were the richest treasure.

Just think about it!

A mid-level Great Demon God was worth around 60 million Divinity Crystals. 10 of them would be 600 million, 100 of them would be 6 billion, 10,000 of them would be 600 billion...

,000,000 of them would be 6,000 billion, which was... 6 trillion.

6 trillion Divinity Crystals!

That was already a lot.

“Foolish Boundless Giants, you are surrounded! If you know what’s good for you, get your Great Prophet to come out at once! Or else, we don’t mind helping you flatten the Monarch Mountain...”
