Chapter 887 - Floral Ha
Before Mount Pantheon was officially opened, the whereabouts of the gods were unpredictable, and it was difficult to meet them even once, let alone make friends with them.
Today, however, Li Yi finally learned how the gods released the Ascension Quests.
When he raised the Divine Power of Lightning to 91, Fire Ice private messaged him to inform her receipt of a peculiar mission.
She had been farming demons with Jiaojiao recently, and now her level was 196. Although she was not a Territory Master in her own right, her equipment was powerful and made her virtually comparable to one.
Since Li Yi successfully staved off the Demonic Invasion and stopped the war with demons, Fire Ice had nothing else to do but to run around the Four Continents all day to improve her lifestyle skills.
Fire Ice was an Archeologist, a lifestyle class that was tasked to look for hidden treasures across the globe.
There was a saying that went like this: engineering caused three generations of poverty, and archeology leaves only ruins.
Meaning?
Without enough financial support in engineering, there was no way it could improve.
On the other hand, there would be no possibility of any positive development in archeology without devoting enough time.
It would be a waste of life for all the time wasted on archeology.
Dig a little in the east, dig a little in the west, to put together and restore the items after uniting the fragments. Archeologists knew that they could dig up valuables, but the chances were extraordinarily slim.
At best one could only get a bunch of white-colored garbage items after toiling away for one whole day.
Fire Ice had been studying archeology for several years without telling anybody. She would ride her Heavenly Warhorse during her spare moments and gallop from east to west. She was extremely committed to the profession.
However, fortune was not on her side. For several years, nothing came out of her excavation. Her small home was decorated with generally pretty objects of no use. The only notable thing was the Axolotl, but she was too afraid to ride it.
She set off earlier this morning with her tools. Her shovel dug up a sparkling white stick. She took it in her hand and the white stick automatically made a buzz.
A middle-aged priest in glittering white robes descended from the sky, his hand holding a Light Staff. He landed right in front of her.
“You are gifted, lass. I observe in you the potential of becoming a God. Say, are you willing to do something for me?”
The task was easy. Fully heal the wounded gryphon nearby. She did so with little effort.
After that, Fire Ice received what she referred to as the peculiar mission.
Fire Ice thought it was out of place because upon completion of the task, the priest gave her a floral hat and he disappeared in the skies. There were no explanations regarding the follow-up mission.
She had no clue what to do next, which is why she asked Li Yi.
After listening, Li Yi hazarded that she accepted the Ascension Quest.
He compared whatever she held to his own and found shocking similarities.
The white stick, which was a product of the fusion between the Divine Tome and God’s Heart, and the Floral Hat should be a ‘Tool for Ascension’.
Li Yi did not have the Floral Hat, but he had the Superior Vignette Mirror, and they should share the same purpose.
Li Yi teleported to Fire Ice. He asked for the Floral Hat for further inspection.
Each Tool for Ascension had its own unique ability. The Superior Vignette Mirror could weaken the strength of certain monsters. The white-colored ring worn by Fluttering Snow Purple Water Chestnut gave its owner the power to teleport to any coordinates within a map.
Li Yi tried to put on the Floral Hat and a body of clouds began to materialize around him. In the blink of an eye, he turned into a white cloud in the air.
As a cloud, he was able to change his appearance and fly freely. He could even turn his body into a thread and fit into a thumb-sized hole.
“After turning into a cloud, you are immune to all physical and spell damage,” Fire Ice explained.
She also tried wearing the Floral Hat.
This ability was called Cloudy Flesh, a level 1 Divine Spell, a normal skill which even Territory Power could not triumph against.
In other words, it meant total invincibility.
If one struggled to beat his opponent in a fight, one could turn into a cloud and harry his opponent to obscurity by flying up and down.
Of course, as the price of invincibility, when one became a cloud, one could not attack.
“Groovy.”
Li Yi levitated toward Fire Ice, lifted the spell and returned the Floral Hat.
“I have little use of it. You should have it.”
She also took out the white stick that constantly buzzed and handed it over to him.
“Nah, I already have one of these. I don’t need anything at the moment.”
Fire Ice turned red, her delicate arms were still up in the air, not retracting.
“Take them back. Become a god and impress me.”
“I... I, I, I, I...”
“What now? Trust yourself.”
The invincibility of the Floral Hat would serve as the best protection for the slightly slow-witted Fire Ice. As for the white stick, it was known at a glance that it was a characteristic of the God of Light.
Li Yi was reluctant to be a God of Light, neither was he satisfied with being the Thunder God, but the latter’s ATK was super strong. This was beyond doubt, as he had seen it before.
“You need to defeat a boss to make this white stick work. How about we team up and off one?”
“Okay,” Fire Ice eagerly took his hand, probably felt her movements exaggerated, and immediately lowered her head with her countenance tinted in scarlet.
Fire Ice could not fly freely in the Pantheon Continent, but as the Chief Executive of Starting Point City, she had none of those problems in the North Pole Continent.
Both of them returned to the North Pole Continent together and started a thorough search for bosses.
They could teleport anywhere within the North Pole Continent, and the speed at which two people searching for bosses was much faster than one.
It took only ten minutes for the duo to find a level 150 gold-named Frosty Wolf Chief.
An arrow of Li Yi’s killed it, which was her cue to absorb its Divine Power.
Fire Ice took out the white stick and pointed it at the Frosty Wolf Chief.
“Bzzz...”
“Bzzz...”
The unusual buzzing continued more than five minutes, and the body of the Frosty Wolf Chief did not change.
A furrow formed between his brows, “Can’t absorb?”
