Chapter 73 - Tranquil Forest!
Ban ignored the matter regarding the guardian and focused more on the first part.
\'Why did I buy a map hastily yesterday?...\'
Ban thought in frustration as he received the map in Kuys hand. He spread it open and he realized it was even more detailed than the one he bought yesterday.
Inspecting the map, Ban could only sigh as he resisted himself from shedding tears. He just wasted 2 Gold Coins for buying a map that he won\'t be able to use as he already has something better in hand.
Ban put the frustration at the back of his head as he closely observed the details of the Map in his hands. There was a yellow line that started from the city and ended on the Eastern side of the city, the Beast-Filled place, Tranquil Forest.
Upon noticing that, Kuys immediately explained that the Elder Monk Tree is located near the core area of the Tranquil Forest. He said that as long as Ban followed the yellow line closely, he would be able to arrive at the location, safe and sound, and the only thing that he needed to be wary of was the stray Beasts that might appear all of a sudden.
Kuys dismissed the matter regarding the guardian as he thought it was near impossible for Ban to encounter it. However, he did provide Ban a solution and a way to escape if he ever encountered it.
Ban kept on nodding his head as he listened to Kuys lecture. He etched them deep into his mind as he was unfamiliar with the Eastern side of the city, even more so for the Tranquil Forest that was already located past it.
Kuys also warned him that although the forest was called Tranquil, it was still very dangerous as it was, after all, a Beast-Filled Forest, just like the Forest of Lagom.
The reason it was called that way was actually just due to the multiple herbs and plants with calming or tranquilizing effects that grew there. And with that, the Beasts that lived there also became calmer than the ferocious Beasts that lived in the Forest of Lagom.
After Kuys finished his lecture, Ban did not immediately go towards the Adventurers Guild and instead went to the Kuys Bar backyard to do half of his Daily Mission requirements.
After he finished the first half of his Daily Mission requirements, Ban did not waste any more of his time as he directly ran towards the Adventurers Guild to accept the Quest that Kuys had issued.
It is important that an Adventurer always accept every task in the form of a Quest.
In order to rank up to the next Adventurers Rank, every adventurer needs to complete a certain number of Quest, aside from the strength requirements.
For a Wood Rank like him to rank up to the next rank- the Bronze Rank, he needs to complete twenty F-Grade Quests, ten E-Grade Quests, and one D-Grade Quest for the final test.
The higher the Adventurers Rank is, the more kind of Quest they could accept and issue. It also means more earnings for them.
Ban already completed 1 F-Grade Quest yesterday. He still needs to complete a handful of Quests before ranking up but unlike before, he was no longer hasty to increase his Adventurers Rank. After all, he already has a separate Adventurers Rank and it was even a Gold Rank one.
After arriving at the Adventurers Guild, Ban immediately went towards Marrie\'s receptionist table and told her about the Quest that Kuys had issued.\'
"We already checked the validity of the request and Graded it as an E-Grade Quest. If it was any normal day, I would definitely stop you from accepting this Quest, but you got owner Kuys permission so you\'re good to go." She said while handing Ban the Quest paper.
Quest Information:
Quest Grade: E
Quest Requirement: Go to the Tranquil Forest and harvest 30 branches of Elder Monk Tree.
Reward: 6 branches of Elder Monk Tree.
Note: 1 branch of Elder Monk Tree will be given as a bonus every 10 more branches of Elder Monk Tree harvested.
Ban nodded upon seeing the Quest Information. There was also already a stamp seal at the bottom of the Quest paper, meaning it was already approved by the Adventurers Guild and there\'s no need to worry about a scam or ambush waiting at the Quest site.
Ban bowed his head towards Marrie before going out of the Adventurers Guild. He also did not linger any longer as he and Eva ran towards the Eastern side of the city.
Some time later, they arrived at the carriage area situated on the east side of the city. The route leading towards the Tranquil Forest starts from here. He could even see some Adventurers boarding carriages to go and do their respective Quests.
From what he heard yesterday, the Beasts gathering in the area around the Beast-Filled Forest, Lagom, had somewhat died down. The other Adventurers even said that it might take at most two weeks now before the first batch of Beasts attack the city.
They felt elated as it would mean that they now have more time to prepare for the Beast Tide, meaning, the Blacksmiths can prepare more weapons and armors, while the Alchemists can prepare life saving medicines and other recipes that can help on the said event.
That\'s also the reason why the Adventurers\' tense nerves relaxed a little bit and the reason why they could do other Quests instead of prioritizing the Quests that concern the Beast Tide.
Unlike the others, Ban did not board any carriage and instead opted to run towards the Tranquil Forest even though he already had the necessary coins to board one.
He estimated that he should be able to complete all the required kilometers for his Daily Mission the moment he arrives at the Tranquil Forest. And by then, he could then proceed to finish the other requirements and finally complete the Daily Mission so he could receive the rewards, especially the random item part.
He did not waste any more time and started running towards the Tranquil Forest alongside the hired carriages.
