Chapter 147 - What A Noble Man
"Don\'t forget what we discussed earlier…" Ban said, interrupting Belle who was about to say something.
Belle was surprised about his interjection and she ended up yelping a little due to it. She nodded head after her initial surprise but Ban thought that her nod was a little forced. He thought that she might have forgotten most of it already.
And with that in mind, Ban started recounting what they had discussed earlier to refresh her memory.
Belle could only nod her head while listening to Leon. She does not want to interrupt him so she only listens. It also helped as she actually really forgot some of the details of their discussion earlier.
The discussion ended up taking most of their time and they did not even notice that they were already near the Adventurers Guild.
At the same moment Ban finished recounting, the carriage also slowly stopped, followed by George\'s relieved voice.
"We\'re here!" He said enthusiastically. He managed to arrive at the Adventurers Guild in time without having the Guard Commander\'s daughter flaring up. He felt that he should be safe against her now.
However, contrary to what he expected, it seems that the Guard Commander\'s daughter was pissed off?
Leon was the first to get off the carriage. He then turned around and offered his hand to help Belle come down the carriage. He was worried about her as the carriage\'s door was elevated from the ground.
Belle happily accepted his offer with a smile. She then jumped off the high elevated door with Leon\'s hand as a support.
However, despite that, she was still feeling irritated about the carriage driver.
\'How can he drive so fast? We arrived earlier, sigh!\'
"Don\'t worry about the carriage\'s fee Leon, I\'ll handle it…" Belle said with a smile.
Ban nodded his head after hearing that. He actually does not mind paying but if she wants to pay it, then \'thanks\', was all he can say.
She then turned around and went towards the other side of the carriage. She took a few silver coins from her Storage Pouch and beckoned for George to come over to get the fee.
George happily approached her thinking that something was not wrong. However, he was proven wrong the next moment as he actually received a kick on his foot before Belle handed her the payment.
"Hmmph! Drive slower next time!" She said before returning to Leon\'s side as if nothing had happened.
George could only jump like a donkey as he grabbed his aching foot. \'What the hell… My carriage driver friend said that she doesn\'t like to ride in a slow-moving carriage…\'
He could only comfort himself from what he heard from Leon next.
"Wait for me here…"
He nodded his head enthusiastically before he boarded his carriage again. He then drove away to park the carriage under the shade of a tree.
Leon and Belle finally walked towards the Adventurers Guild a moment later.
Belle heard what Leon said and she wondered where he wanted to go. She previously mentioned to him about the rewards, she thought that he might have forgotten about it already. She planned on reminding him about it later after their matter in the Adventurers Guild ended.
They arrived inside the Adventurers Guild a while later. The Adventurers immediately turned their head towards them as their pair was rather strange. One was wearing a strange outfit that gives off a dangerous vibe while the other was like a child walking beside him.
Some of the Adventurers recognized the two but in different matters. One was from the commotion he caused the other day while the other one from her father. They didn\'t want to offend either of them so they just lowered their heads a moment later as they went back to what they were doing earlier. However, each one of them was actually thinking of the same thing at this moment, \'Where\'s Delo?\'
Ban and Belle arrived at the receptionist table of the receptionist that assisted them earlier on the quest. However, a minute had already passed and she could still not be seen.
Just as they were about to move towards another receptionist, a beautiful receptionist with pale blue hair approached them calmly.
"Hello, what can I do for you? Sorry for the inconvenience but the receptionist of this table left earlier due to something urgent. If you want to accept and hand over a Quest, you can do it with me instead." The pale blue-haired receptionist said with a smile.
Belle and Leon looked at each other before nodding their head as if agreeing to something.
"We wanted to report about something, as well as changing the details of a Quest that I have issued before," Belle calmly said.
The receptionist nodded her head before she turned around, "Alright, follow me."
She then led them towards an empty and sealed room. She offered them a seat before she asked one of the workers to bring them a drink.
"This room is sealed from the outside and no sound will come out of here. So only the three of us will be aware of what happened here. I noticed that you two seem to want to talk about something in private so I just led you here for convenience…" she explained while sipping a cold drink.
"Good…" Belle said as she also drank the same drink the receptionist was drinking.
Belle knew that Leon doesn\'t like to talk that much to \'other people\' so she immediately explained what happened earlier.
She recounted everything from start to finish. Of course, she omitted and added a lot of details just like what she and Leon agreed on earlier.
"What a noble man… I\'m sorry for your loss!" The receptionist commented after hearing her story.
\'So basically, Delo sacrificed himself when they were chased down by the Century Centipede just so the two of them could escape? How noble… I hope Mr. Delo finds a safe place in his second life.\'
"I have noted what you have said and we will investigate the matter regarding the Century Centipede later. If what you reported was proven to be true, then you will be highly compensated for it." She said with an assuring smile.
"And regarding that Quest Change…"
