Chapter 2 - A Team Forced To Pick A Slacker
Each of them held their own departments as at this moment, Noah was being led by his little sister into the Armament Department where Iron Rank Blessed could check out Iron Equipment before they set off for a Dimensional Rift.
"Mother has constantly been crying to me about how she worries that you might off yourself, with father complaining why you haven\'t done it sooner and saved them from the constant shame."
Truly hurtful words came out of the little sister as Noah only smiled while following behind.
He knew the girl was one of the few people in this world that cared about him, and that all the words she was saying were meant to motivate him to change!
"This time I\'m acting personally to include you in my team against the wishes of my teammates so that you can at least have the chance to dive into a Dimensional Rift."
"Maybe then you will gain some motivation to become a serious Blessed that his little sister can look up to!"
SHAA!
The little Sister, Annalise, turned her head full of red hair to lock eyes with the laid back older brother as she made her goals clear.
Her dark eyes shone with intense light as they looked lovingly towards Noah, with her young face keeping the cold expression. She looked at the boy that gradually had features of a growing adult, his dark hair and bright blue eyes being something that would have been one of his best features if he wasn\'t a slacker.
"Keep up!"
"Yes, yes. My little sister knows best."
There was a bustle of activity inside the Blessed Academy as many beings could be seen moving about.
The uniqueness was that they were dressed in colorful looking armors that were the [Loot Drops] from the Dimensional Rifts, with many Blessed wearing the common Iron Rank Equipment that would have been able to deflect bullets if they were back in Noah Homeworld!
Annalise passed the crowds of Blessed as she went towards the Armament Department, pulling her brother behind her as he moved with a lazy expression.
Some of the Blessed passing them by were familiar with them as snickers and a few laughs could be heard as they talked amongst each other.
"The slacker older brother with no talent and his beautiful sister that is in one of the top Iron Ranked Teams...truly a combination."
"Ay, are we sure they come from the same mother? It just doesn\'t make sense…"
"Haha!"
Sounds of mockery could be heard as Noah paid no attention to it, his mind as a 26 year old having grown sufficiently to not be bothered by the words of people barely reaching their 20s.
Annalise had a sharp expression as she seemed to be memorizing the faces of every Blessed laughing in mockery, having something planned later for them as she didn\'t make a move here!
The two of them arrived into a huge square hall that was the Armament Department.
On its large walls, numerous equipment were hanged- ranging from Swords to Flails, all the way to full body armor and helms.
"You guys!"
Annalise called out to a group that was on one of the counters of the Armament Department.
They were finishing checking out their weapons as they turned towards Annalise, their smiles being wiped away when they saw the Older Brother she was bringing along.
Each of them seemed to sigh inside as they tried their best not to let their feelings show.
"Come, come! We have to hurry before the lines get too long at the Burning Domains Rift!"
From the party, a girl with ponytails covered with a red full body armor came out with a smile to hug Annalise.
There were 4 other members in the party- 3 guys in their 20s and one other girl that had vibrant purple hair.
It was a balanced party of 6 Blessed as from their equipment, Noah could see it was two tanks, a healer, and 3 damage dealers.
His eyes shined brightly as he stared at the colorful equipment that had lights bouncing off of it, reminding him once more of the fantastical things he could have had in this world if he wasn\'t cheated out of his transmigrator system!
\'Haaa…\'
His eyes dimmed again as he saw his little sister mingle with her team, their eyes turning towards him every now and then as each of them unwillingly nodded.
Annalise came towards him again as she asked.
"Which weapon and armor do you want?"
Noah gave a light smile at this ferocious little sister of his as he spoke calmly.
"Just a sword and light armor. I\'ll just be watching my great sister and her teammates carry me to victory after all."
Annalise let out a harrumph as Noah\'s equipment was prepared, his figure looking more like a Blessed when he put the armor on and wielded the sword.
\'Hmm…\'
His eyes lit up as his body filled with energy, feeling like he could run multiple marathons as the sharp sword made him feel like he could cut anything!
Such were the boosts of Iron Rank Equipment that could be dropped from Dimensional Rifts.
Such equipment could be checked out from the Armament Department...but they required payment as Noah saw his little sister pull out a glowing gem from a small bag by her side to the receptionist on the counter to pay, this payment being to simply rent the equipment for a day!
This was because they rarely dropped from Dimensional Rifts, and the same applied to the glowing crystal gem his sister had pulled out.
It was a [Low Rank Iron Core] that was another loot drop from the Rift that was near the Blessed Academy.
It dropped with slightly more frequency as such a Core was the currency used among Blessed!
Cores such as these had a myriad of uses, but the main one remained to increase the strength of Blessed when they absorbed them.
The more valuable Cores could be dropped from the Bosses of Dimensional Rifts, and of course, the higher ranking Rifts gave even more abundant rewards if you could survive the dangers within.
"Brother, are you ready?"
When Annalise came back, she and her team were ready as the girls gave polite smiles to Noah, the guys not even talking to him as the party of 7 went out from the Armament Department and went towards a Dimensional Rift!
