Chapter 313 - A New Tang Yun

Chapter 313: A New Tang Yun

“Bah, so stingy!” Zhao Anan snorted and then said, “Anyway, Lun and I need to leave this place now, otherwise we will be in big trouble if Zheng Jing catches us on site. He has even stressed to me that I mustn’t bring Lun here and cause trouble.”

Shangguan Ning felt a touch of warmth flowing across her heart. She was very grateful for what Zhao Anan had done for her.

Tang Yun was a thorn inside her heart. They had never been friends to begin with but after she had a huge argument with her, they had become enemies. Zhao Anan chose to stand by her side without hesitation and helped her punish that detestable woman, which moved Ning’s heart.

After hanging up, Shangguan Ning noticed that Jing Yichen was already there. She had been so immersed in the conversation with Zhao Anan that she didn’t even notice his presence.

Jing Yichen walked forward and held her by the waist, tucking some errant hair behind her ears. He said softly, “The woman is still alive?”

Shangguan Ning had thought that if he ever begged for mercy for Tang Yun, she would have released Tang Yun.

No matter how annoying she was, she had once saved Jing Yichen’s life. That was already a huge favor and she couldn’t hurt her so badly.

Jing Yichen asked the question in such a way, that it made her feel guilty.

Jing Yichen had never planned to beg for mercy for her. What he cared about was how she felt as his wife about it.

“Not yet, but she is suffering a great deal. I had not wanted to tell you that, fearing that your heart would ache for her. But you overheard everything. Don’t blame Anan, she punished Tang Yun for my sake, just blame me if you want to.”

Jing Yichen pinched her chin and said unhappily, “Ning, no more such talks, okay? Why should my heart ache for anyone else? You are enough for me and I don’t have so much time for other people. I don’t even care about Anan. Tang Yun saved me once, but I only regard her as someone I feel grateful towards. However she doesn’t affect how my heart feels.”

As a matter of fact, Jing Yichen had never experienced heartache before meeting Shangguan Ning.

He used to be cold and distant to others and only paid a little attention upon Zhao Anan to ensure that she was fine. For example, if Anan was bullied by someone or hurt by someone in a fight, he didn’t even give her a look.

He didn’t care about anything unless Zhao Anan threatened him with the two old ladies at home.

But after meeting Shangguan Ning, he felt heartache for the first time. His frozen heart softened every now and then because of her smile.

So he wanted to explain clearly to her that his feelings for Tang Yuan differed from those he had towards Shangguan Ning.

Sure enough, after the explanation, Shangguan Ning smiled. Then she kissed his face happily. “Okay, you are not allowed to feel concerned for others. You are only allowed to feel concerned for me.”

Her mood was always able to affect Jing Yichen’s mood. He also felt happy when he saw her happy.

He gave a kiss to his wife and then went to take a shower. When he came out, he found that Shangguan Ning was still awake.

He laid down next to her and then swept her into his arms as he asked in a low voice, “What is it? Not asleep yet?”

A soft smile hovered over Shangguan Ning’s face. “I can’t fall asleep until you tell me what it is going on.”

Jing Yichen understood that she was referring to Tang Yun. He had not wanted to conceal it from her and seeing that she asked, he said softly, “Things are getting more complicated than I had anticipated. Tang Yun is involved with far too many forces. She got pregnant on purpose and according to her, Jing Yiran and a woman combined their forces to help her with the plan.”

“Tang Yun is not as simple as I have anticipated. When Zheng Jing interrogated her, he found out that she has been trained before. When she lost the most fundamental ability of awareness because of the drugs, she was still able to lie. Mu Qing’s drug is top-notch in the world and very few people could have resisted that. Zheng Jing said that if anyone can resist that drug, he or she has to be trained for at least four years and he or she has been taking that medicine regularly so as to form such a strong ability of resistance.”

Jing Yichen was frowning and sounded serious.

Tang Yun was looking more and more suspicious.

He had never asked Tang Yun about her family. Nor had he ever done the research before, because he didn’t care about this woman ten years ago and he didn’t care about her ten years later. So he hadn’t made any efforts in getting to know details about her background.

He had only heard Tang Yun mentioning that her parents died at an early age and that she was an orphan living with an uncle.

But according to Lee Duo’s research, traces of her past life had been cleaned up. It was impossible to find out her past documents, nor could her parents’ or uncle’s documents be found. Ten years ago, she appeared from nowhere and then disappeared somewhere until ten years later she was found by Jing Yichen.

Or maybe she had not been found by Jing Yichen. She had just made it look like it.

“Ning, I need to get to know Tang Yun from scratch. She is very different from how I remember her.”

Jing Yichen sounded very confused.

She slipped her arms around Jing Yichen’s waist and put her forehead against his and said, “Yichen, it doesn’t matter what kind of a person she is, as long as you don’t change. You can’t possibly see through every deceit.”

Tang Yun admired Jing Yichen and that couldn’t be hidden. She might have had other purpose, but it was clear that she had fallen for Jing Yichen. And this kind of crazy admiration and extreme personality had perfectly hidden her purpose and motivation, so that everyone would think that she was just a woman blinded by love.

Jing Yichen thought about Ning’s words and soon adjusted himself mentally.

Tang Yun was not someone special for him. She was just a gleam of warm sunlight in his past life of darkness. But now, he gradually understood that the sunlight had been a false impression.

That was something Jing Yichen couldn’t possibly accept. The sunlight he had been chasing for ten years turned out to be nothing other than a delusion.

But he was not someone ordinary. He had strong willpower and the ability of self-adjustment. He could control his emotions quickly and start to analyze the issue in calmness and rationality.
