Chapter 159 - I Married You
Chapter 159: I Married You
Luo Tao tucked Mo Yan’s hair behind her ear and said in a gentle voice, “How can I bear to do that?”
Mo Yan’s heart was trembling from his words of love, “My parents had that kind of past. My identity and my brother’s are still unknown. Mo Dong even chased us out. Do you really not mind?”
“I married you, not your family.” Luo Tao replied with a chuckle and said, “Leaving the Mo family is a good thing. If you guys are still tied to the Mo family, I’ll have a headache facing that kind of sister-in-law and father-in-law.”
Seeing Luo Tao pretending to be troubled, Mo Yan could not hold back her smile and tapped his forehead.
“Congratulations, young master Luo, for escaping the clutches of your father-in-law and sister-in-law.”
The way he addressed Mo Yan reminded them both of the night they went to Allison Music Restaurant for dinner. One knew Mo Yan’s identity and deliberately probed her, while the other had no choice but to pretend to be rich.
The two of them looked at each other and smiled. Although Mo Yan did not know what Luo Tao was thinking, it did not stop her from feeling amused by her embarrassment.
“Call Mo Cheng. Let’s eat out tonight.” Luo Tao smiled at Mo Yan.
Mo Yan nodded and walked to Mo Cheng’s room.
“Cheng, have you packed your things?”
Mo Yan knocked on the door a few times, but there was no sound inside. After a while, the door was opened.
Looking at Mo Cheng, whose eyes were red but pretended to be fine, Mo Yan did not expose him. She smiled at Mo Cheng and said, “Let’s talk?”
Mo Cheng lowered his eyes and nodded. “Yes.”
“Sister, is what that woman said true?” Mo Cheng sat by the bed and asked in a low voice.
Mo Yan shook her head. “I don’t know.”
Hearing Mo Yan’s answer, Mo Cheng raised his head in confusion. “Sis, you don’t know either?”
“Yes, I don’t know what happened back then. I have to ask Mom.”
Mo Cheng fell silent again. He didn’t know how to ask his mother.
“Cheng, no matter what happened back then, she is still our mother. There’s no point in thinking about it.”
“Sister, you don’t understand,” Mo Cheng said in pain.
“I used to think that I could get rid of the label of illegitimate child, but...”
Mo Yan stepped forward and hugged Mo Cheng. She did not know how to comfort her younger brother.
“Mo Lian often lies. Maybe what she said is not the truth. We’ll see after we ask Mom.”
Seeing Mo Cheng like this, Mo Yan could only stall for time. She could not let Mo Lian ruin Cheng with just a few words.
“Lie?”
Mo Cheng’s raised face revealed a glimmer of hope, which made Mo Yan unable to bear it. She could only grit her teeth and continue speaking.
“Yes, Mo Lian is lying. Didn’t you hear her say that I was the one who stole her marriage.”
Mo Cheng acknowledged and temporarily believed Mo Yan’s words. Then, he asked, “Sister, what was the meaning of the conversation between her and brother-in-law afterward? What substitute marriage?”
Although it was a question, thinking back to when their Mom’s surgery’s fee was paid just when Mo Yan got married, the answer was obvious.
Seeing that she couldn’t hide it, Mo Yan told him everything.
Mo Cheng frowned and asked, “Sister, now that everything has been exposed, what are you going to do? Are you still going to be with brother-in-law?”
“Yes, of course.” Mo Yan smiled lightly. Her smile was full of happiness.
“Although I first married him for other reasons, I realized a long time ago that I liked him. Marrying him was the best choice I made.”
Looking at Mo Yan whose eyes were shining when she mentioned Luo Tao, Mo Cheng wanted to say something but stopped himself.
“What’s wrong?” Mo Yan asked.
Mo Cheng shook his head. Since Mo Yan liked him, he shouldn’t talk about his guess. Let them go with the flow! Moreover, he did not know when Mo Yan made her decision, so he should not add to Mo Yan’s worries in the future.
After sorting out his emotions, Mo Cheng pulled out a smile. “I hope that you will always be happy. Of course, if the two of you are separated one day, I will stand by your side and support your.”
Mo Yan bent her finger and gently knocked on Mo Cheng’s forehead. Mo Yan scolded him with a smile. “Sseparated? What? You don’t want me and your brother-in-law to live a good life?”
“That’s not it!” Mo Cheng held his forehead in an exaggerated manner, as if Mo Yan had hit him so hard that it hurt.
“Hmph! Once you got a husband, you forget about your younger brother.”
Mo Yan raised her knuckles, as if she wanted to knock on Mo Cheng again. Mo Cheng cooperated and retreated a little, pretending to be afraid.
Mo Yan was so amused by Mo Cheng’s acting that she could not stop smiling. She said, “Thank you for your concern, but your brother-in-law and I will be fine.”
Mo Cheng pouted, and suddenly a rumbling sound came from his stomach.
