Chapter 66 - A Boo-boo?
Chapter 66 - A Boo-boo?
Marquess Samed could not believe that she had just insulted a deceased member of the Royal Family without a moment\'s thought.
\'It\'s fine if she says that in my presence but if I don\'t teach her well and she says the same or something much worse before someone who had ill intent towards her then she can surely be hanged for it!\' He glared at her as that scary thought came to his mind.
"Miss St. Claire, I will not have my pupils uttering words of disrespect against the Royal family!" He reprimanded her while shaking his head in disapproval.
Yvonne knew that she had fucked up the moment she noticed the change in his aura which went from the usual goofy smugness to a ferocious grimness.
She promptly came to the conclusion of what she had to do to appease him.
She did not hesitate to apologize with a sincere heart and yet that was not sufficient to placate his anger.
Marquess Samed made her write a three-page long essay on how words of disrespect towards the members of the Royal family, either dead or alive could cost her her head.
Checking the essay until the very last word, he nodded his head and then returned it to her.
"You better be careful before you speak in the presence of others. Especially if the person has bad motives towards you." He gave her an important life lesson which would certainly come in handy in the future.
Yvonne was not an idiot to ignore that advice, she was just used to staying inside her estate and the only outsiders she was meeting were her tutors.
\'I\'m getting careless because I don\'t meet anyone new.\' She assessed the plausible reason for her reckless behavior.
She nodded her head once again to show that she would certainly keep his advice in her mind and not spout nonsense before strangers.
"Can we please get back to the reason why Governess Bloom was unable to take up the responsibility of teaching the Royal Princess and her playmates?" Yvonne politely inquired about the blazing curiosity that was eating her alive.
\'He spoke about everything relating to that lady but has not yet revealed why she was not fulfilling the role that was meant for her!\' She snarled in her mind while an innocent smile sat on her face.
\'She seems to be very much invested in knowing why I was chosen as the Royal Tutor. Is she worried that I might neglect her studies to accommodate Princess Felicia?\' Sullivan\'s thoughts moved in a completely different direction than what was going on in Yvonne\'s mind.
His heart was overwhelmed with joy and pride when he came to the conclusion of how much his student valued him.
Yvonne tilted her head and stared at him in confusion when she saw his beaming face.
"Don\'t worry, Miss St. Claire. My time may have been divided but my attention will most certainly not get divided. I will continue to give you my undivided attention since you still are my favorite student." He reassured her to ease her silly worries.
Listening to his conceited words, Yvonne\'s lip twitched following which she smiled and gave him a grateful nod.
"The reason, Marquess?" She questioned once again when she saw that he had forgotten about her earlier query.
Marquess Samed was pleased with her unquenchable thirst to gain more knowledge and finally decided to answer her.
\'I\'ll just ask her not to speak of this matter to anyone else. If she doesn\'t let this matter leak then the King will never know that I revealed the conversation we had to someone else.\' Sullivan debated with himself before revealing the secret that was supposed to be kept to himself.
If Yvonne knew of this matter then she would certainly click her tongue at her gossipy teacher who couldn\'t keep a secret even if his life depended on it.
Even though she was the one who had continually insisted to know the reason for this replacement, she would still blame him since he had succumbed to his gossipy nature.
"The Grand Duke was injured during his recent expedition and King Ophire had reckoned that Governess was the perfect person to nurse him back to health." He disclosed a royal secret without any qualms.
"Make sure that this stays between us and a third soul shouldn\'t hear of this matter!" He then warned her in a firm tone that did not allow any room for refusals.
Following which, he narrowed his eyes and glared at Yvonne\'s little face with an intense stare to show just how serious he was about his warning.
However, as she was lost in her thoughts she failed to notice his scalding eyes.
\'So the reason why such a major deflection from the script took place was that the second male lead had a boo-boo?\' She scowled as her thoughts were filled with annoyance for the Grand Duke.
Her already hateful feelings for him grew by a couple more notches after she was aware that this man was the reason for the changes that would happen soon as Governess Bloom would not be the one to groom and guide the young girls.
\'If this causes the future to change too drastically then I am going to find a way to make his life a living hell!\' She glowered and clenched her little fists into balls.
Her plans to lead a life in peace and solitude, away from the drama that would soon ensue after the lead characters turned into young adults, was becoming more and more unpredictable as a result of these major changes.
One of the reasons why she had been so calm even after being thrown into this world was the foreknowledge she had, thanks to the script that she had read.
But now, things were getting out of her hand and the blame for that was pinned on her supposedly future husband, Grand Duke Draco Roschester.
If only she knew that she was the prime culprit for his injury and also the main catalyst behind all these changes, how would she react?
"Where did your mind run off to?" Sullivan snapped his fingers before her eyes to get her attention back on him.
Yvonne simply shook her head and cleared her throat while trying to think of a reasonable explanation for her momentary daze.
"I was wondering how the Grand Duke was injured and what was his expedition about?" She inquired with an innocent smile.
Sullivan narrowed his eyes and immediately shook his head in disapproval.
"You need not bother about the affairs of the Royal family." He dismissed her question with a simple statement.
Yvonne\'s brows scrunched up when she heard his firm refusal and her curiosity was piqued after being declined.
"The things concerning the Royals are not something that we, the subjects should be nosy about. Especially matters concerning the Grand Duke." He explained after noticing her inquisitive eyes.
Hearing his words, she was reminded that his reasoning was correct.
At the same time, hearing him emphasize the \'Grand Duke\' part of the sentence, she felt an irksome feeling rise within her heart.
\'Why should I be bothered about that scumbag!? He can fall in a ditch and break his back for all I care about!\' She scoffed at the very thought of that man.
__
Right at that moment, a young boy sipping tea while sitting in the Royal Garden scrunched up his brows after feeling a shooting pain emanated from his back out of the blue.
An elderly lady wearing a midnight blue gown who had been standing by his side gazed at the young boy\'s contorted face and her expressions shifted to show a deep panic which she quickly concealed.
"Young Lord, are you feeling unwell?" She questioned and simply raised her hand to signal a man standing at a distance away from them.
Though she was old, she still had a graceful and elegant aura surrounding her. When she spoke, her voice gave the people around her a sense of calmness and serenity.
The young boy who was in his adolescence shook his head and raised his hand, immediately halting the man who was about to rush away.
"I\'m fine, Mrs. Bloom." He leisurely raised his head and answered as he gave her a reassuring smile.
The moment he looked up, his emerald green eyes caught the rays of the sun and it seemed as though there were a million stars trapped in them.
His glossy blonde hair, a trait only belonging to the Royal family of Rosenhyde fluttered as the heavy breeze flew by them.
The elderly lady who was just addressed as Mrs. Bloom was reluctant at first but seeing his firm eyes, she nodded and acquiesced his words which could be considered as an order disguised in the form of a simple answer.
