Chapter 489 - Jittery With Excitement
Chapter 489 - Jittery With Excitement
The events that happened next were as follows:
Sunday was chosen as the day that Sevenz would visit the St. Claire mansion to discuss Ocular\'s matters in relation to CLOVER.
Upon his arrival, he found out that his friend was grounded due to what had taken place, making him feel worse about his involvement that brought about this punishment.
He had been mulling over what had happened during their encounter and realized that she had not tried to take advantage of her relationship with him.
This brought him joy as he now had a pure friendship that had not been tainted by greed.
Thus, when he arrived at her house, he came bearing peace offerings for every member of the family.
Yvonne rolled her eyes and disregarded his gifts while focusing on the reason for his appearance here.
They delved into deep discussion with numerous back and forths which the rest of the family just sat and watched without pitching in their thoughts.
CLOVER was all Yvonne\'s responsibility so neither Rutherford nor Howard interfered while Raylene was just stunned to see her child being such a sharp-tongued person as she negotiated with one of the best caravan owners in their Kingdom.
Finally, Sevenz and Yvonne came to a conclusion which satisfied both of their requirements.
Ocular would be selling the soap under the name of CLOVER and gain an aforementioned amount of the profit which they had just negotiated.
With this came the end of their negotiations and the two heads of businesses signed the documents that Rutherford had prepared for them.
CLOVER would now use Ocular\'s traveling caravan to supply soap to the commoner population throughout the Kingdom.
Since all the necessary certification for CLOVER was completed and validated, Ocular would not have any issues with selling their products in the numerous fiefs.
"No nobleman can buy them from you." She insisted that the commoners would be the only ones who can purchase her soaps.
This was because the noblemen could spend their money on Earl Blaise\'s expensive soap while she would provide her products to the commoners who were the ones in need of aid.
While Sevenz hoped that she would change her mind as nobles were a thriving and profitable market that CLOVER could set foot in, Yvonne had different plans.
\'Once the plague is over… CLOVER will then take over the noble market as well.\' She smirked as her first step was to gain a monopoly in the lower market of commoners.
The commoners were easier to sway and also the fastest to win over.
They would rather have something for cheap than spend their valuable coins only to obtain scraps that the Earl sold them.
Not to mention that the Hagen family\'s soap was much better than Earl Blaise\'s.
Therefore, the answer was obvious to Yvonne about which soap the commoners would choose if they were given an option.
"The noble market will be hard to venture into right from the start." She explained to her friend that trying to push their product into the market right away would be foolish.
As they prided themselves in their noble lineage, they would first, refuse to purchase something cheap in price, and second, not from a renowned noble family.
CLOVER needed to make a name for itself without her father or the St. Claire family name\'s assistance.
This would only be possible if the noble masses were to realize that CLOVER\'s product was much better than Earl Blaises.
"So until I take over the commoner market, I do not plan on venturing into the noble market." She declared and stood firm in her words.
Sevenz had not thought of it in this way and nodded his head that she had made the proper decision for her current situation.
Rutherford and the rest too were impressed with her foresight and were generous in their praises.
Once the discussion about the contract was completed, Sevenz proposed his idea of how they would sell the soaps once they received the consignment.
"Start from the South and make your way to the North." The little girl countered his proposal which was to do the opposite.
While the man was confused as to why she had asked him to do so, seeing her confident appearance as she asked him to trust her made him agree with her plan.
\'If we finish selling in the South first then Ocular will not get caught in the plague once it sets off down south.\' Her thoughts were concerning the health of the employees that Ocular hired.
In less than a year, the plague\'s first cases will be reported in the southern fiefs and she did not wish for Sevenz and his people to contract the disease while selling her soaps.
\'I should hint about this later on as well.\' She decided to warn her friend through vague means to ensure his safety as well.
In accordance with her suggestion, Ocular would first start off with the southernmost fief of Wescott and make their way up to the northernmost fief which was the Roschester fief.
"This way, CLOVER will already be famous by the time Earl Blaise hears about it." She smirked as a mischievous glint flashed across her eyes.
\'So that was her plan?\' Sevenz and Rutherford misunderstood her main reason for the suggestion but Yvonne did not try to correct their speculations.
Since Sevenz and Yvonne were now business partners, Raylene invited him for lunch and he did not hesitate to accept the offer.
During lunch, Rutherford and Howard sulked but there was nothing they could do as Raylene and Yvonne were busy in conversation with their guest rather than paying attention to them.
Sevenz left soon after their meal in order to prepare for the expedition that Ocular would soon be heading out for.
South was their first stop and they would need a lot to prepare before they could head out next week.
This was perfect as the soaps that the Hagen family were manufacturing on a large scale in the Plantation would be ready for export by then.
Things were going smoothly and the happiest of them all was Yvonne, jittery with excitement for what the future holds for her and her company.
__
The next morning would mark the end of their Summer vacation which implied that Howard would return to the Royal Academy.
Taylor headed to the St. Claire mansion to pick his best friend up before they could journey back to their Academy together.
Raylene was thoughtful enough to pack snacks for them and also for the other two boys, Topher and Damien who for some reason had not arrived here today.
"Make sure you share with the others." The mother taught her son to share and not be greedy enough to eat them all by themselves.
Yvonne was engulfed in a tight hug by Howard but when Taylor wished to do the same, he was dragged by the collar and tossed into the carriage by the young master of the St. Claire mansion.
\'Good job, son!\' Rutherford cheered for his son who was quick-witted and smart to handle such situations with ease.
Sulking in the carriage, Taylor could only wave goodbye to his sworn sister as they began heading out towards their destination.
__
"Back to your room now, Vonna." Rutherford reminded her that she was still grounded and could only step out during class hours and meal hours.
Pouting and grumbling, Yvonne had no other choice when faced with two stubborn adults who wished to stick to their initial plans of grounding her for three months.
Thus, the little girl returned to her room until her classes could begin.
Inside her room, Yvonne sat by the window and pondered over everything that had happened in the last few weeks of summer vacation and recalled an interesting piece of information.
\'I wonder what kind of etcher Young Master Topher met?\' She rubbed her chin while trying to guess which one it could be.
Since she had not had the chance to meet him ever since she returned to the Capital, she was still ignorant of this matter.
However, after a few minutes, she came up with a blank as she did not know how many kinds of etchers they were and which one he might have found.
She also had not inquired about this matter to Taylor as it had slipped from her mind back then.
Therefore, now she could only think of one person who could diminish her curiosity.
\'I should ask Marquess Samed when he arrives.\' She decided as not only was he a known gossipmonger but he was also Topher\'s uncle who might know better about this matter.
Sighing in dismay, she had a feeling that she too would turn into a gossipmonger during her punishment period.
