Chapter 895

The first was obviously in connection to the low opinion she had about the business under the care of the woman named Governess Twine.

They had tainted a deal that was supposed to be sacred among businessmen which was unforgivable in her sights.

Therefore, she had suggested Melissa to stay away from such people in the future.

This statement was sufficient to hint that purchasing anything else from them would be a foolish move on her part as similar incidents could occur in the future as well.

Her first reason was due to her personal feelings towards this matter whereas the second reason for interfering was to help the King with his plans.

The older ladies of their Kingdom might find it difficult to change their ways at the drop of a hat but it might not be so for the younger girls.

.....

They were still at an impressionable age where it would be easy to influence them to start expressing themselves and what their thoughts were on various matters.

An act as simple as suggesting her father to look for Earl Mikren to purchase a new piano could be the beginning of something new for Melissa Jorbin, who in the past never had much thought about such matters.

As long as they took the first step, there was no saying how far these girls could go in the future.

Thus in this way, the King’s goal which was to raise the status of women through various efforts could be one step closer.

Yvonne also wasn’t blindly leading Melissa down the wrong path where she might be reprimanded by her father for interfering in areas where her opinions weren’t needed.

She knew that Melissa’s father, Marquess Jorbin was one of members of the King’s Council of Ministers so it was safe to assume that he would not be against what their Ruler was propagating quite openly in the past few months.

As far as she was aware of it, among the active members of the Council of Ministers, only Duke Maldock Brodie was unhappy with the King’s desire to improve the status of women in their Kingdom.

The rest were helping the King in propagating his ideas to get the other nobles acquainted with what he wished to achieve in the coming years.

Though Marquess Jorbin was one among those ministers who weren’t too active, Yvonne was confident that at the very least, he was not against the King.

‘The man married a woman who comes from a forward-thinking and progressive nation.’ She added to strengthen her assumptions as Marchioness Jorbin’s homeland did not look down on women.

Therefore, if he had married a woman who was brought up with such liberal values then it was safe to assume that he wasn’t the most obstinate of the bunch.

Hence, she wasn’t too worried that he would object to Melissa’s request or chide her for speaking out of turn.

Having thought these things through, she had used this opportunity to involve the young girls in matters which were often reserved only for the boys.

While she was lost in thought, the others had spent a few moments mulling over this topic.

“Has Miss Yvonne used the pianos from the Mikren fief?” Melissa inquired at the end of the long list of facts that the two young masters with them had just stated.

The moment the eldest triplet spoke up, the rest nodded soon after.

It seemed that the triplets weren’t too concerned about how the Mikren fief functioned but were keen to focus on the aspects that concerned them.

The little girl who had attempted to get them involved in business matters felt her eye twitch when she saw that her brief effort had gone in vain.

However, she soon regained control of her expressions before they noticed what was wrong with her.

‘Well, I cannot expect them to change right away...’ She reminded herself which helped ease her heart while also thinking of how to respond to the older girls.

“I haven’t but heard only good things about it from Marquess Samed.” Yvonne smiled while pushing the blame on the scapegoat she used whenever she was stuck.

Gaining a lukewarm response, Melissa, who wants to hear about Miss St. Claire’s first-hand experiences with that piano, pursed her lips.

“I shall speak to my father about it.” She muttered after a moment’s pause.

Hearing this, Yvonne nodded without much change in her demeanor but on the inside, was glad that Melissa had taken the initiative to bring this matter before her father.

If girls began discussing such minor topics with their fathers then who knows, they might move on to debate matters of greater significance in the future.

Her goal had always been to be a successful business woman but she did not wish to progress alone.

In this world where the opinions of a woman did not receive much attention, she hoped for certain things to change so that they too might gain the right to state what was on their minds in areas that were of importance.

Therefore, through this little effort she had put in, she hoped that these girls would start caring for matters which would be essential for their growth rather than limiting themselves to what others expected them to be.

___

While Yvonne was hoping for a brighter future for the little girls she would be growing up with, the man who had just become her scapegoat sneezed out loud.

“Winter is fast approaching.” Marquess Samed remarked while rubbing his nose.

He had no clue that his name had just been utilized by his pupil and hence continued to focus on the conversation that he had been a part of.

Standing next to him was the same man, Marquess Kiron, who had been with him since the party had begun but a few others had joined them along the way.

Among the newcomers was the Earl who had been mentioned in the conversation taking place in the younger generations’ group and there was also the older man whom Yvonne had seen but could not recognize when she first arrived at the party.

Standing in the midst of these men ranging from the age of late twenties and early eighties, there was one who had turned twenty-one only recently.

However, he did not seem out of place when he stood with these older men who engaged in deep and meaningful conversation, touching on various intellectual topics that concerned their Kingdom.

If Yvonne had caught sight of them right now then she surely would have marveled at how this young man’s appearance matched that of another person present in their group.

After all, he could be said to be a life-like but much younger replica of Marquess Kiron who was standing next to him.

The conversation in this group had just died down but there was someone who had a lot to learn from them.

“Once classes at the Academy begin, would the boys be allowed to return home for any special occasions?” The Royal Tutor inquired, trying his best to maintain a subtle facade as he commenced his covert investigation.

His innate nature to pry information out of the other person had been a tough one to suppress.

Therefore, even at this moment, it had been triggered, especially considering the fact that there were so many influential individuals who had arrived at this party which made it the best place for him to gain some valuable gossip.

The four men standing with the Marquess knew exactly what he was trying to do and they also knew why he had brought this matter up right now.

Earl Brax Mikren who also stood in this group alternated his gaze between the curious instigator of this topic and another man whom he was already quite familiar with.

‘How long were you waiting to ask that question?’ He rolled his eyes and smirked when no one was watching as his gaze landed on the famous tutor once again.

The Royal Academy was set to reopen in two days but only a few weeks later was the birthday of their Ruler.

The boys, those who were the heirs of their fiefs, would have to attend the birthday celebration of the King as it was a tradition that had been followed since King Ophire had taken his seat on the throne.

His birthday celebration was used as an event for the Fief Lords and their heirs to unite in one place where they got to interact with each other and with the King.

Therefore, the presence of many noble boys who were heirs would be mandatory for this event which was often compared to a battlefield due to the severity of its nature.

However, thinking of the last six months when the boys studying at the Royal Academy weren’t allowed to step outside its premises, Marquess Samed’s query had some weight to it.

Would the boys be allowed to return to the Capital in order to attend the King’s birthday celebration or would they be forbidden from doing so?

Whatever the answer might be, Marquess Samed was sure that he could find some juicy gossip either way.

Therefore, not caring about what they thought of his nosy nature, he was curious to know what reply he would gain from them.

His gaze was especially focused on one man present in this group with him who was also the reason for this query to be made known in the first place.

‘Who else to ask about this than the Dean of the Royal Academy himself?’ Marquess Sullivan Samed grinned inwardly as he awaited what the oldest man in their group had to say.
