Chapter 46 - Happy?

Graven walked in the cemented pathway going to his house.

Cooper left the swing. "Brother, wait!" he said and went to his brother\'s side.

Graven stopped in his tracks and looked at him. "What is it-?"

"How long are you going to stay here?" asked Cooper.

Graven pondered the question for a moment. "I\'ll be staying here for one week," he answered.

"That\'s too long!" Cooper blurted in protest.

Graven raised his brow in confusion. "Why?"

"I want you to go back to your place right now and only come back here on the day when Laura and I are going to get married. That\'s what I\'m asking from you. I rarely ask you anything, just this once," Cooper pleaded.

Graven\'s confusion intensifies. "But why-?"

Cooper took a deep breath. "Can\'t you see, Laura is trying hard to catch your attention the whole time! I think she was attracted to you the first time she saw you. I don\'t want her to leave me because of you. I like Laura a lot. It will break my heart if she kept fantasizing about you while she kept ignoring me. Let\'s face it, when it comes to the look department, you are much more attractive looking than me. Naturally, women will flock to you. You will have no shortage of women to keep you company. My future wife is my happiness. Please pity your ugly and pathetic brother..."

Graven stared at Cooper for a few minutes and sighed. "Anything else?"

"No more. I just want you to leave right now. It will give me peace of mind. Please, don\'t get me wrong. I hope you understand how I feel right now. I wish you will understand the painful feeling of watching your soon to be wife staring at your good looking brother. I don\'t want to elaborate much. I feel pain every time Laura looked at you. I\'m just being honest here. I hope you understand my situation," Cooper said.

Graven shifted on his feet and sighed. "I see you are jealous out of nothing at all. I want you to know that although your wife is beautiful, she\'s not my type. I felt no attraction to her. So...rest your mind at ease and stop being suspicious of her, " he said.

Cooper snorted. "You stole my women before! I can\'t trust you when you\'re in the same place as my future wife. I\'m just being cautious, don\'t get me wrong..." he insisted.

Graven sighed. "Correction, I didn\'t steal your women. They\'re the ones chasing after me. I never bedded any of your women out of respect for you!"

Cooper growled. "They told me that you are ten times a better love than me. They talked about their wonderful moments with you in bed. Don\'t tell me - that they\'re lying!" he hissed at him.

"You should know by now that women sometimes tell lies for their benefits," Graven said and released a deep sigh. He clenched his hands in annoyance. He was annoyed with his brother\'s childish behavior. But even if that\'s the case, he maintained patience all the time in dealing with Cooper\'s outbursts. And today is not an exception. "Alright, since you ordered me to leave, then go ahead, informed my driver in the stable to ready my carriage. I\'ll just take my belongings out from the house," he said calmly.

He won! Awesome! Cooper grinned. "Thank you for your understanding, brother," he said and left the mini-park to go to the stable and inform the driver to prepare his brother\'s carriage.

Graven watched his brother\'s back until he disappeared from his view. He proceeds to walk towards his house to gather his things and left.

He entered the house and looked at the guy sitting on the chair, beside the dresser table with a mirror, facing the door.

"Your brother is giving you a hard time again, eh? Why don\'t we just finish his life and be done with it?" said the guy.

Graven shook his head. "No. Don\'t do that. My brother is just a pathetic soul. He\'s not worth losing my patience and control," he replied. He and Cooper were very close when they were still young. But his brother changed after they grow older. Cooper saw him as his rival in everything.

"Okay. as you say so," the guy said.

"Bring our belongings outside. My brother Cooper ordered me to leave the house today," he said.

"But you just come home today. We will be staying for one week here. That\'s your plan, right?" said the guy.

Graven nodded his head. "Yeah...but as you can see, my little brother is angry. He wants me to distance myself from this house and return only on the day of his wedding. I have no problem with that. I just come home to visit my father and meet my sister-in-law. Now that I\'m done meeting her, I might as well disappear from their lives," he said.

"How about your sister-in-law?" the guy said.

"How about her? I don\'t have the time to think about her right now," Graven said calmly, followed by an unreadable expression on his face. "Anyways, let\'s keep moving. Just bring the luggage and put them in the carriage. "I\'ll just go back to the mansion for a few minutes to inform my father that I\'m leaving," he said.

"Okay," the guy replied. He grabbed the luggage from the floor and placed them outside the house, waiting for the carriage to arrive.

Graven exited the house and went back to the mansion. He found his father on the veranda drinking tea. He lowered himself on the chair facing him. "Father, I have to go back to the site. We have an emergency. I need to go back there, ASAP!" he said.

"Wait...you just arrived today, and you will leave again?" Nicholas said.

"I\'ll be back next week to pay you a visit," Graven said, trying to reassure him.

"Okay, you may go now," Nicholas finally said.

"I\'ll take my leave now, Father. Take care of yourself," Graven said and left the veranda.

When he returned to the mini-park, his carriage was already parked outside the door of his house and his right man was putting their luggage back inside the carriage.

Graven looked at his brother standing nearby. "Happy-?"

Cooper smiled broadly and gave him a thumbs up. "Yes, thank you, brother, for your understanding," he said triumphantly.

Graven breathed deeply and shook his head. Under normal occasion, Cooper doesn\'t behave like this. He doesn\'t care if he will stay for one week, one month, or even one year in the mansion. He never did something like this before. This is the first time he did this because he was jealous, afraid that he will steal his beautiful wife under his nose.

His right man signaled him that everything is ready in the carriage. Graven boarded the horse-drawn carriage and ordered the driver to leave the mansion.

Cooper watched in satisfaction while watching the carriage moving away from the mini-park going to the iron gate.

Now, he will look for his slutty wife and rubbed his victory on her face.
