Chapter 698 - No Man’s Land
Chapter 698: No Man’s Land

The two great factions stood in clear opposition from each other on the island. The middle zone was stained with blood and many corpses littered the ground.
The dense fog was still present, but most of it had dissipated. Paired with the rubble and ancient decaying trees, there was a desolate feeling to this area as though it was a forgotten battlefield from ancient times.
“Yee-haw, yee-haw! This grandfather of yours will stand his ground, even if the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western winds blow against him. Who dares to have a match with me? Grandfather Donkey will kick you and send you off to meet your grandfather!” taunted buck-toothed Old Donkey. He shouted out his catchphrase, challenging all the evolvers from the outer realms and even kicking his hind legs backward from time to time.
“Little donkey, come and receive your death!”
Someone from the opposition had a violent temperament as well, calling out loudly and brashly as he walked to the center of the battlefield. The voice belonged to a black-winged divine ape with shining black fur wielding a large wolf tooth. He was a powerhouse from the Flying Demon Ape race, an extremely powerful race in the planetary sea.
His eyes were green, and black light circulated around his body. His wings resembled demon wings, and he was about three meters tall. His appearance was fairly uncouth and tyrannical with his protruding lips and prominent fangs.
Even if divine son Xu Chengxian from the spirit clan was defeated and became a prisoner, the allied army had a considerable amount of people who knew no fear. Evidently, they still had impressive people to take charge of the situation.
They had confidence because they had other terrifying people with different constitutions on their team who hadn’t shown their faces, such as Innocuous Divine Physique and so forth.
After the Flying Demon Ape walked out brimming with murderous aura, he challenged Old Donkey to a battle. The wolf tooth was tens of thousands of kilograms, but he held it as effortlessly as holding paddy.
“F*ck! Gorilla, are you tired of living? Who’s the little donkey? I’m your Grandfather Donkey!” Old Donkey cursed. He hated hearing people call him little donkey.
The Flying Demon Ape sneered and said, “In my eyes, you’re all wild beasts; natives on an inferior planet and a civilization that hasn’t properly evolved. You’re all chickens, dogs, horses, and mules! You guys ain’t much!”
“Gorilla, who are you talking about? Your evolution isn’t complete and you’re covered in fetus fur, yet you have the gall to talk about your grandfather donkey. Shut up. At the very least, I’m more handsome than you,” chided Old Donkey.
Everyone was speechless. This guy who had large ears and uneven buck teeth felt no shame in calling himself handsome?
Old Donkey had always been spineless and liked to move his lips instead of taking action. He naturally felt afraid after seeing the ferocity of the Flying Demon Ape.
Yet, he still wore a look of disdain on his face as he said, “Gorilla, grandfather can’t be bothered to deal with you. My specialty doesn’t coincide with yours. I’ll let your second uncle beat you up. I can guarantee that he’ll beat you up so badly you’ll be crying for your daddy and calling for your mama. You’ll regret being born in this world!”
He then looked toward his faction and glanced at the old ape from Dalin Temple. He tried to curry favor with the old ape with a pleasant look on his face as he said, “Elder Brother Monkey, can you please discipline this big uncouth nephew of yours in my place?”
The Flying Demon Ape cursed, a chilling look reflected in his eyes. No matter what, he was a divine son from a very well-known race. Yet a wild beast who he viewed as a native had ridiculed him, so his murderous intent immediately revealed itself.
The Old Ape from Dalin Temple had already evolved and consumed clouds and qi. His fur had turned silver, as though he was forged with silver. Only his eyes were shining like golden lamps!
He walked out carrying a large club. It was the weapon Chu Feng had brought back from the cosmos and gifted to him.
“Roar!”
In the blink of an eye, the two apes attacked. One was as black as ink, looking as though he had come from hell; the other was a shiny silver, illuminating the battlefield with its divine light and bearing terrifying energy.
Clank!
These two were known far and wide for their boundless strength. Their clubs collided when they charged at each other. Sparks flew everywhere, and the impact resounded like ironware being forged.
The ground beneath their feet trembled. These two apes were far too powerful. The void rumbled when the wolf tooth and metal club smashed against each other, causing an explosion in the air.
The aftermath of the sonic boom was a white mist that shrouded them, creating an astonishing scene.
Zing!
All of a sudden, a glaring light beam flew over. It was an arrow feather that flew toward the back of Old Ape’s head. This was a fatal attack that came from the allied army.
Without a doubt, the assailant not only possessed impressive strength, but he was also vicious and terrifying. The arrow feather was purple and golden in color. It burned in the void like a comet that struck the ground.
A sharp glint flashed in Chu Feng’s eyes. He had been watching the battlefield closely with discerning eyes, and his divine senses were heightened to their peak for fear that something bad would happen.
Pcht!
A golden flying sword flew at break-neck speed toward the arrow feather.
Boom!
A violent explosion occurred in the sky. That shining purple arrow feather was a secret treasure. It was dense with energy, and it exploded when it came in contact with an obstacle because it couldn’t pass through.
One could assume that in the event the arrow struck Old Ape during this intense battle, he would be flustered and suffer a huge loss even if the arrow feather didn’t penetrate the back of his head.
Whoosh!
When Chu Feng used his flying sword to block the stealth attack, he made his move, too. His energy surged, and it was as though he had grown wings. He took to the air like a large, golden bird and swooped down at the enemy in an instant.
“How daring!”
“You’re courting death! Kill him!”
Murderous intent soared from the allied army. Everyone raised their weapons and brandished them at Chu Feng. Many people released their secret treasure, directing their efforts against a single adversary.
From their point of view, Chu Feng was too daring because he entered a large army alone. If he succeeded, it would really be a blow to their morale!
The saint children from every race were spontaneous, acting together without much chit-chat. A vertical eye opened up between the eyebrows of some saint children, shooting out terrifying murderous light; some saint children waved their fists which bore perilous energy.
However, Chu Feng was jubilantly unafraid as he dove right into the crowd. His energy surged as he slashed out with his Sword of Reincarnation, emitting a burst of crimson light.
Not everyone was a saint child in this region; a large portion of them were their followers. The followers immediately met with distress and were chopped in half at the waist, littering the battlefield with their corpses.
Whoosh!
Chu Feng dodged the saint child’s attack. He brandished his sword again and sent his opponent’s head rolling. He felled his opponents in the crowd like he had entered no man’s land.
Boom!
But in the end, he still had to deal with the trump cards up the sleeves of a few saint children. Runes suddenly flickered here and there as light beams shot up in torrential waves. An intense battle had erupted!
“Chu Feng, you ought to die!”
Someone shouted with a sinister look in his eyes as a purple light beam flew over. The one who launched the attack was the one who had mounted a sneak attack on the old ape. He drew his bow and was about to shoot Chu Feng.
Chu Feng wore a cold expression on his face as he successively collided with ten or so saint children, making a few of them cough out blood. His battle clothes were damaged, but he didn’t retreat. He punched the purple arrow feather and charged right over.
The purple-haired archer held a large bow with bowstrings that continuously trembled as he shot arrow after arrow.
When Chu Feng charged at him, he suddenly threw his arrow feathers away and transformed into a large purple hedgehog that was as tall as a small mountain, releasing a myriad of arrows from his back all at once.
All of the hedgehog’s long spikes came off his body and turned into flying pikes. He was an expert at the transformation realm who was giving it his all at this moment, disregarding that it was at the expense of his vitality. He released all of the sharp, purple spikes from his body all just so he could deal a fatal blow on Chu Feng.
Evidently, this was an intentional ambush to lure Chu Feng over before killing him.
Right at this moment, a middle-aged man from the Spirit Clan appeared, commandeering a Spirit Clan troop. They brandished their weapons and charged forth.
The cavalry from the Deity Race made their move at the same time. Even though their battle formation had been broken earlier on and many people had died, they had regrouped and were set on killing Chu Feng.
Clank!
A large golden bell appeared outside of Chu Feng’s body. He used Robbery Induction’s breathing technique to create a canopy in the shape of a golden bell and used it to protect his body.
“Do you want a group fight or a one-on-one duel? It’s up to you guys!” said Chu Feng with a chilly expression.
Magnets flew from his frontal side in huge volumes and fell. Black magnetic flags appeared one after the other and formed a domain, blocking the advancement of the Spirit Clan and the cavalry from the Deity Race.
Clank, clank, clank!
When the long, purple pikes that filled the whole sky hit the large, golden bell, the sound was deafening and unending. However, none of them could penetrate the bell.
Meanwhile, Chu Feng had advanced forward and used his Sword of Reincarnation on this hedgehog the size of a small mountain.
“You guys said you were going to help me obstruct him!” screeched the large purple purple hedgehog. He shot a look of despair at the Spirit Clan and the Deity Race, but it didn’t change anything.
The two large races couldn’t shield him because the domain prevented them from doing so.
Chu Feng gained enough time to attack. A naked hedgehog without its spikes was practically defenseless. Even if it was retreating and retrieving a few weapons, it still couldn’t block the Reincarnation Sword.
Chu Feng sliced the hedgehog’s body in half and waves of blood splashed out, intimidating everyone present.
He was chopping the enemy when the army was distracted!
“This is the outcome for daring to mount a sneak attack during a fair showdown!” Chu Feng didn’t stop as he crashed his way through, commencing a massacre in the crowd.
“Grandfather is coming too! Arrogance will inevitably meet with misfortune!” Ouyang Feng also took to the battlefield, complete with the aura of a divine beast. However, he attacked craftily and mounted a sneak attack. He used his Toad Palm and blew a saint child up.
Chu Feng and Ouyang Feng combined were like two arrows that bore holes and prevented the enemy from advancing further. They charged through the crowd and attacked the Spirit Clan and Deity Race, launching a massacre.
“Fellow comrades, what are you waiting for? Attack and exterminate them! Don’t let anyone escape!” yelled the middle-aged man from the Spirit Clan.
“Who are you going to exterminate? I didn’t return this time to watch you guys behave arrogantly. I’m going to kill all of you, not even the little ones are allowed to escape. I’ll see which one of you dares to come over!” Chu Feng retorted.
His aura rose sharply like a prehistoric ferocious beast being born and a dangerous scent erupted from him. He traversed this zone and inflicted heavy damage on the Spirit Clan and Deity Race.
“Sky Demon Slaughters the Immortal.”
Yellow Ox also launched an attack from behind. Although he was small in stature, he was astonishingly powerful. He swept the enemy from all sides in his frenzied attack.
Chu Feng, Yellow Ox, and Ouyang Feng weren’t that far away from each other as they launched direct attacks on the allied army. This stance undoubtedly startled and infuriated many people, yet this too made them feel afraid.
It was clear that they held no regard for the allied army because they actually dared to charge in and massacre everyone around them. Confidence was bursting at its seams for them and that was a serious blow to the allied army’s morale.
All the saint children attacked together because they wished to kill them all immediately. Even if one person was seriously injured, that was fine too because they could boost their own confidence and will to fight.
Unfortunately, they were defeated. No one would’ve thought that the trio would be so fearless that they would dare to force their way through. For a moment, they couldn’t be stopped.
“Kill!”
The great demons of Kunlun also made their move from the rear. They actually still had the Amethyst Sky Thunder in their hands, but hadn’t used them before. Now, they got close to the allied army and decisively threw them out.
A riot broke out on the island.
“Offer sacrifice to the heavens with blood!”
The middle-aged man from the Spirit Clan roared. He had been staring at Chu Feng with a chilling gaze. He wanted to capture Chu Feng in exchange for divine son Xu Chengxian.
The mist behind them dissipated and a blood-colored altar suddenly appeared. This was an unconventional development of the Divine Blood Banner. Without the banner, it was just an altar but the effect was the same and even more terrifying.
This might possibly be the trump card they had prepared specially to exterminate Chu Feng. Who knew how many precious treasures and resources they had spent on this thing.
Buzz!
The blood-colored altar lit up with tightly packed runes, swallowing Chu Feng into it.
Chu Feng was startled, not out of fear, but because he had a trump card. After he entered the void, he didn’t fully use everything he had up his sleeves. Rather, he took out a blood banner right away.
This item belonged to the Spirit Clan. He had initially seized it from an old woman who claimed she followed the path of the golden arhat. This banner was very mysterious and unfathomable power.
Chu Feng waved the divine banner, and in a split second, the altar dimmed. The banner had absorbed the divine energy and blood essence that had been prepared on this blood-colored altar.
“You’re helping me nourish my secret treasure? I don’t even need to use my hidden trump card. I really am grateful to you,” muttered Chu Feng as he stood there and sneered.
If someone else had been absorbed by the altar and entered this blood-colored space, they would have most likely met with ill fate, but Chu Feng was completely unharmed. The Divine Blood Banner shone brighter.
Bang!
He violently shook the blood banner and the altar exploded. He simultaneously put away this secret treasure because he didn’t want to reveal it now, leaving it so that he could make the Spirit Clan his scapegoat.
“You—” The middle-aged man from the Spirit Clan was startled and furious.
“Old Genius, hand your life over!” shouted Chu Feng. In the instant he rushed out, he brandished his sword and slashed forth.
The middle-aged man from the Spirit Clan raged. He hated the title of Old Genius that people in this age group gave him. So much so that he wanted to storm into the cosmos and settle things with the first person who addressed him as such.
Clank, clank, clank!
Sword qi weaved about and sparks flew everywhere. Chu Feng chopped off the middle-aged man’s head and it flew up with a final pop.
Boom!
At this moment, a terrifying brilliance blossomed. Yang qi surged and charged toward the back of Chu Feng’s head with the intent to kill him in one blow. The timing of the attack was very precise because it was in the split second that Chu Feng succeeded in killing the Spirit Clan’s commander and took a brief moment to catch his breath.
Chu Feng didn’t panic. He seemed to have eyes on the back as he coldly said, “Innocuous Divine Physique? I’ve been waiting for you for a long time!”
