Chapter 819 - The Truth in Blood
Rocks and grit covered the ground nearby.
A tornado formed as wind swirled the airborne sand and dust about. Chu feng stood here without moving an inch. How could he accept this? Such grievous news was too cruel!
Finally, he shouted out like a wild injured animal as he madly charged out. Such a cruel ending made his whole body tremble.
Chu Feng was letting out a low growl as he picked up speed, giving rise to a fierce gale. Sand and stones immediately flew about behind him.
He disappeared in the blink of an eye. He left this place before he arrived in the outer region!
Chu Feng was searching the wasteland. Irrespective of whether it was based on his feelings or if was the harsh reality, he wasn’t willing to believe it. He wanted to understand what happened thoroughly and scout the situation out until he understood it.
There were living creatures on the wasteland, but there weren’t many of them. However, Chu Feng quickly locked in on a Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros in the external region with his sharp and powerful divine senses. He charged over in a split second.
That Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros that was entirely golden was very alert. When it saw a gale in human form paired with sandstones as it carried everything away, it let out a shout and spread its golden wings open as it rapidly charged up into the sky.
Whoosh!
Chu Feng flew out first and obstructed the path it was following. The Flying Rhinoceros immediately surrendered when Chu Feng pressed forward with his hand.
“Don’t kill me. I’m very pitiful! Someone completely beheaded all my clansmen. I only managed to make a narrow escape to this place. If I died, my entire clan would be completely annihilated,” said the Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros in a trembling voice. This was a living being at the cloudeater realm and was considered to have pretty good strength. However, he was inferior to the present Chu Feng in the current encounter.
Chu Feng stared at it while concealing his sadness and said, “Let me ask you, is the Martial God still on Vicious Beast Plateau nowadays?”
“Martial God? That’s a very ancient name. This seems to be a god that died a very long time ago. It should be several hundreds of years now,” replied the Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros cautiously and timidly as it trembled with fear.
When he heard this news, Chu Feng’s body swayed and he almost fell head first from mid-air.
He felt an indescribable pain in his heart. He had initially held some hope in his heart and thought that the words carved on that stone tablet wasn’t real. But he encountered a club to his face just as he had come out to seek confirmation.
How he hoped the Martial God was still alive, even if he was an enemy!
If that god was still alive, he could overthrow his previous conjecture and all the tragedies wouldn’t have been staged.
Now, a simple sentence from the golden Flying Rhinoceros ripped the hope he had in his heart and every hope he had turned to dust; he was aggrieved and heartbroken.
Chu Feng’s outstretched hand was trembling too; he was no longer suppressing the golden rhinoceros. His soul light was swaying too as he said, “What era is it now? Have you heard of Chu Wuhen?”
“It’s now the one hundred and twenty first year of the Demonic God calendar. His Majesty, the Demonic God has been controlling Vicious Beast Plateau for more than a hundred years,” answered the golden Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros.
At the same time, it was very afraid and there was a slight tremble to its voice as it said, “It should be more than a hundred years since Chu Wuhen died. He was a deity who a Demonic God personally beheaded. He died... very tragically in his twilight years!”
In the blink of an eye, the divine glow in Chu Feng’s eyes sharply increased. He couldn’t stop himself from balling his hands into fists before he looked up at the sky and roared. He felt a kind of pain that tore his heart apart and rendered his lungs.
This was real. Everything was real!
Previously, he was still telling himself that everything was in his imagination and that everything was fake. It shouldn’t be this way! It couldn’t be this way!
But reality was cruel and so was the truth to the point where it even made his heart bleed. He was already going to go mad.
“I lay my pen to rest here. Your son, Chu Wuhen.” Those few words floated before his eyes again and was actually so glaring. The Little Daoist laid his pen to rest here when he came to offer sacrifices to Chu Feng for the very last time!
“Father, this should be the last time I come to see you in seven hundred and fifty years. I am about to walk to the end of my life...”
“Goodbye, Father. Perhaps I should say that we shouldn’t ever meet again like this. I lay my pen to rest here. Your son, Chu Wuhen!”
Tears kept rolling over and over in Chu Feng’s eyes. He was thinking of those words and those messages. At that time, Chu Wuhen was already old and knew he was going to die. He knew he was going to be killed and a new god was going to replace him.
“The Demonic God killed Chu Wuhen?!” Chu Feng asked. He was very emotionally charged in between his words. He was trembling from head to toe and wished he could rip the firmaments apart.
He saw those he had friendly relations with on the rock. His son once said that the strangeness and decay had already happened to him. After he entered his declining years, his blood qi withered so he was going to do away with himself and chose a no-man’s land to end this life of his.
But in the end, someone still killed Chu Wuhen! That Demonic God swallowed him!
“That’s right. The Demonic God targeted that old god whose strength was plummeting in advance and didn’t let him escape. He attacked with lightning and struck him to death before an abyss. The Demonic God then refined all of his Divinity Granules and Ancestral Daoist matter on the spot.” The Flying Rhinoceros felt his scalp go numb as he muttered where he was. He didn’t dare look at Chu Feng as he was so frightened that he was practically about to go limp.
“Little Daoist...” Chu Feng muttered. His heart really ached. Even if this son repeatedly opposed him, he was his son at the end of the day. Besides, Chu Wuhen seemed to be very affectionate from the words carved on those rocks, yet he actually died in such a tragic manner.
“What kind of god is Chu Wuhen?” Chu Feng asked as he endured the feeling of grief.
“He called himself an Honorable Deity, not a god, so everyone called him an Honorable Deity,” the golden rhinoceros cautiously answered.
“Demonic God, I want to kill you and exterminate your entire race!” At this moment, Chu Feng almost turned demonic. His eyes were almost like black holes as they were incomparably profound and unfathomable.
The sound that he made wasn’t that loud, but it was so penetratingly ice-cold that it invaded a person’s bones and soul.
It was too sorrowful. The Little Daoist died in an extremely tragic manner. He couldn’t even do away with himself even if he wanted to as the new god had his eye on him and was swallowed whole while he was still alive.
“My son!” Chu Feng muttered. After that, he looked up at the sky all of a sudden and loudly roared. The state he was in resembled a great demon king!
“I want to massacre this world and eliminate the whole Vicious Beast Plateau. All these gods should die!” This kind of declaration and such a terrifying voice shook this whole region.
The ground, mountains and stones were rumbling as layers of soil ruptured.
The Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros was so scared it was trembling from head to toe. It immediately crouched down as it was very terrified and softly said, “Don’t shout anymore. In the event anyone hears it and if His Highness, the Demonic God, knows of this, we are going to die. It’ll be impossible for us to live.”
Chu Feng gradually calmed down after an unknown period of time had passed. He descended and brought the golden rhinoceros along with him. “Have you heard of this woman called Qin Luoyin?” he asked.
“I’ve heard of her before. She seems to be the Honorable Deity’s mother. She died very early.”
“What about Ying Zhexian?”
“I’ve heard of her before too. She and the Honorable Deity’s mother were peerless beauties in those days and that their names moved the heavens.”
...
Chu Feng enquired without thinking the matter through as he listened about matters that happened in the past as he thought about those people. In the few days that passed, more than eight hundred years had passed in this world. He felt incomparably regretful and sad. Things remained the same, but people had changed. There was sorrow in his heart.
Chu Feng threw the Four-Winged Flying Rhinoceros down before he turned around and charged toward the region where the stone millstone was at. He disappeared from the wasteland in the blink of an eye and pushed his way through the hilly region before arriving at this quiet place once more.
He looked at those handwriting that had the hardships of time engraved into them as he stood before these rocks. Chu Feng found it difficult to control his emotions. His entire being was dim and his heart really ached too much.
He charged out from here not too long ago. He was still skeptical and still held some hope as he wanted to verify whether those were fake and illusionary matters. However, reality was so cruel. He was dripping with blood after the scar opened up and it was even more painful!
In any event, Chu Feng found it difficult to accept this because it was too sudden. He wasn’t mentally prepared at all so the impact it had on him was really too great.
Tears clouded his eyes and those people’s smiling faces vaguely appeared before his eyes.
But they were dead and had already left this world which caused Chu Feng to feel immense pain in his heart as though a large raptor had streaked its sharp claws over his heart. He was trembling; his soul light was violently undulating and flickering indefinitely. He wanted to yell and wanted to scream at the world.
How could this be? Those people and the things that had happened seemed to have just occurred yesterday.
But the blue sea had already turned into mulberry fields in just a brief parting as they waited for him to return. Things remained the same, but people have changed. There was no one left and even the soul of his son who always interfere with him had departed and he faced such a tragic ending too.
He could no longer see them. Eight hundred years passed just over one parting. That turned into a parting of death as those people had completely dissipated from this world.
Chu Feng let out a low roar, but he loudly roared soon after and shook the sky and ground across this region. After that, he punched towards the sky as this was more than he could bear. He wished he could immediately launch an attack at Vicious Beast Plateau and kill the Demonic God!
At the same time, he wanted to personally kill that Martial God very much too. However, even this kind of enemy died as time passed and he could no longer see him again.
“Not a single one of you survived. Why is the vortex that’s meant to take us back to our universe gone?!” Chu Feng was breathing in a hurried manner.
If that vortex was still there, these people could return even if they died and they could still be reconstructed in their original universe.
But now, once they died, that meant that they were really gone forever and he couldn’t meet them again for the rest of his life.
It was difficult to express this kind of pain, grief, sadness and loneliness. Chu Feng wanted to loudly roar out and wanted to fight someone. He wanted to kill everything from the age of earth and the extent of heaven because he didn’t want to immerse himself in this kind of sadness.
The sound of his shouts filled the whole world like the sorrowful howl of a lone wolf whistling at the moon. He finally returned while trembling as he stood in front of the rock where these carved words were left behind.
He removed the dust with the palm of his hand and carefully touched the characters on the ice-cold stone slab as though he was caressing a vivid face. Those people appeared before his eyes again.
He didn’t say anything for a very long time. He was silent as soul tears hung on his face. In the end, fragments of stone swirled in the air as he carved words beneath every piece of rock to respond to the messages they left behind in those days.
Every piece of writing coagulated the blood in his heart as his feelings were contained within it. It seemed as though he had seen those old friends of his again and were talking to them.
The pure, cold and quiet Ying Zhexian, the silver haired little lolita who was mischievous and weird, his good brother Ouyang Feng who always looked at people out of the corner of his eye. There was also Qin Luoyin who was unhappy all her life and looked into the distance in the direction of the stone millstone during life’s final moments...
Chu Feng was carving words out on the rock; he was having a conversation with them and was narrating everything he felt from the bottom of his heart and communicating it to them. He felt as though he had stepped across life and death and had hacked open Yin and Yang to meet them once more.
For a moment, Chu Feng was tearful as a great sadness washed over him.
He really was very sad and in a lot of pain. He felt as though the whole world was dull and lonely and that there was no longer any more merriment in the world nor was there any laughter. The sky had turned dull gray too.
Fragments of stone flew about everywhere. He was replying to those messages here.
In the end, he saw the Little Daoist’s handwriting and recalled how tragically he had died. Chu Feng’s heart was choked up with stress and he couldn’t help but to sigh.
The ground was covered in rock powder as he kept carving words out as though he was having a conversation between father and son through space and time. He told the Little Daoist where he had hid the ultimate treasure handed down in his family in the starry sky since that was what the Little Daoist kept in his mind constantly and had been continuously concerned about.
Chu Feng suddenly had a peculiar feeling. He spread his divine senses and discovered that there was a sheet of cloud and mist floating in the sky far away.
“Son, since you are so concerned about the most valuable treasure, it’s useless for me to carve it out in words for you to see. You can’t react to it beneath the stream, so I’ll burn it all to you!”
After that, Chu Feng decisively burned it. His soul light leaped and Yang qi flared as the few large rocks he had carved words on for the Little Daoist burned, turning into red lava.
