Chapter 43

It now made sense to him how the dark earth armor that Robus wore could be missing a large chunk on his shoulders.

It was probably due to Robus being caught off-guard by the creature’s bloodline power and he failed to completely dodge the attack, resulting in his left shoulder being hit by the purple goo.

When Blake saw how strong the purple goo was, a thought came across his head.

‘If I had an attack that was strong enough to melt dark earth armor in one attack and if I had used that attack as my first attack against the crow, then I could probably end the fight in just a few minutes. Hell, I could even end it in one hit if that purple goo hit the crow’s head and melt the crow’s brain.’

The thought had occurred to him earlier how he didn’t have a spell that could bring down his opponents in a single attack.

But now that he had seen such an attack happening with his own two eyes, Blake couldn’t help but wonder how much stronger he would be if he had an attack that packed that much power.

.....

‘Maybe I could make a covenant with that komodo dragon to have its bloodline power...’ Blake thought as he tried to think of ways for himself to get a powerful single attack spell.

‘Is it a poison element? Or an acid element? The purple color suggests poison, but it acts like a very potent acid that was even capable of melting grounds... Whatever it is, I think it will be useful for me if I also have that affinity...’ Blake began thinking hard about it.

From what he understands from his bloodline power, he would be able to get the bloodline power of other creatures and also their elemental affinity if he made a covenant with them.

But there’s also (?) sign at the back of the system’s description, and Blake had also confirmed it with the system, that his bloodline power had limits.

Blake couldn’t just go around running everywhere to make covenants with all the creatures that he met along the way. Currently, he was only able to make covenants with other creatures. He should put a lot of thought and consideration into it to not waste the chance and opportunity that he got.

The first one he made with Robus was more of a sentimental reason and Blake didn’t regret making that decision since the gorilla had been a very great company for him.

Furthermore, Robus’ bloodline power gave Blake the protection that a demon mage that focused on spell casting lacked while also giving him the earth affinity so that he could cast earth elemental spells.

However, Blake didn’t plan on just making his next covenants solely for sentimental reasons. Now that he knew how beneficial the covenants could be for him, he was aware that he should choose the demon that would give the most benefits if he were to make a covenant with the said demon.

And when he thought about making a covenant with the komodo dragon, Blake didn’t find it smart to make a covenant with the creature just because he wanted a powerful single attack spell.

He was sure that there would be a way for him to do it with the current plethora of spells that he got in his arsenal. He just hadn’t thought about it yet.

In terms of his spells, Blake already has a spell that was capable of showing a level of destructiveness as the crow’s wind tornado that literally marred a sizable chunk of the forest.

It was the myriad of darkness tendril spells. If he put enough nether into it, then Blake would even be able to cause the same level or more destruction compared to the wind tornado.

And with his current spirit stat, Blake was pretty confident that he could most likely summon almost a thousand darkness tendrils, which was still far from its actual name, myriad, but it was still incomparable to the other darkness tendril spells that could only summon tens or dozens of darkness tendrils.

Just imagine a thousand darkness tendrils popping out of the ground everywhere and stabbing into everything they ran into.

Blake was confident to say that he would also be able to uproot trees and level grounds just like how the wind tornado did.

However, the problem with that spell was that it was too unstable.

If Blake wanted to control it to achieve the best result for using that spell, he needed to use the marking spell, which means that Blake couldn’t use the spell for a surprise attack that only had a small time window.

He needed something, a spell that could produce one swift and powerful attack that had the potential to defeat his enemy in one move.

But so far, Blake hadn’t succeeded in coming up with such spells using the darkness element.

The closest thing to an instantaneous spell that packed quite a punch that Blake knew was the darkness bullet spell where the darkness element was packed into a ball as dense as possible.

In theory, it would be possible to make the darkness bullet stronger simply just by pouring more nether into the bundle of darkness elements and making it denser.

However, just as how Blake couldn’t simply put more nether into the original first realm darkness binding spell to summon hundreds of darkness tendrils and only limited to dozens, the darkness bullet spell also has its limit.

Which means that if Blake wanted a powerful single target spell, he had to create one on his own.

*CRACK*

Blake’s train of thoughts was suddenly interrupted as a resounding crack was suddenly heard from the place where Robus and the komodo dragon fought.

When Blake turned his head to see what had happened, he could only nod in understanding as Robus had put the komodo dragon in a position very similar to a rear naked choke, rendering the komodo dragon unable to fight back.

And the cracking sound was produced from the komodo dragon’s neck breaking due to being squished real hard by an insanely strong gorilla with his unimaginably tough armor.

Seeing the lifeless komodo dragon and the gorilla that was responsible for defeating it, Blake currently only had one question in his head,

‘Who taught this gorilla wrestling?’
