Chapter 49

One injured monkey who was still trying to run away despite its speed has decreased by more than half the usual speed and the other 1 who had been frozen scared for the past 2 seconds after seeing the fate of its two friends.

Robus always noticed these openings for an attack very quickly and he already made his way towards the healthy monkey, and it would only take him a couple jumps to reach the monkey and possibly smash its skull open.

However, before Robus was about to take the jump, Blake suddenly spoke beside him.

“Robus, do you want to try and play the monkeys’ game?”

“rr?” (What game?)

Instead of answering Robus’ question, Blake quickly drew two sets of runes with both hands.

.....

The runes flashed then two earth spikes, the size of Blake’s height appeared in front of the giant gorilla.

Compared to the earth spikes that the monkeys used which only looked like a toothpick for Robus, the earth spikes that Blake had just cast were the perfect size for the huge gorilla who could easily fit Blake in his hand.

Blake then turned his head towards his gorilla friend, “Why don’t you try getting back at the monkeys by giving them a taste of their own medicine? Do you want to try?”

“R!” With an excited tone and his eyes lit up in interest, Robus quickly used his powerful two hands to pluck the two earth spikes from the ground and held them the same way as how the monkeys did it before.

Robus scanned his target and wanted to throw his first earth spike towards the healthy monkey who had long come out of its stupor and started running away, but Blake said once again,

“Robus, can you please let me take out that one who was running away? I want to see how I will fare against it.”

“Besides, it’s your first time trying to throw that thing right?” Blake stared at the earth spike in Robus’ hands, “It would be easier if your target is less agile.” Blake continued while pointing at the injured monkey who was still trying its best to save its life.

Robus didn’t have any personal beef with the healthy monkey, and after giving it a quick thought, he agreed that it would be easier for him to hit the injured monkey instead of the healthy one, so Robus gave Blake a simple nod and changed his target.

Seeing Robus’ confirmation, Blake quickly replied with another nod before going off and running after the healthy monkey with haste since he didn’t want to lose track of the agile monkey.

The trees surrounding them were, as usual, quite dense, but it wasn’t to a point where they would meet a tree after taking several steps.

It was possible for anyone to walk in a straight line for quite a distance before they would have their path blocked by a tree.

And for the injured monkey who was forcing its battered body to move and was barely able to think because of the pain assaulting its chest and thigh, running in a straight line was the best thing it could come up with.

Running sideways or in a zigzag would only cause more movements to its injured body despite running sideways or at least diagonally clearly giving the monkey much more benefit rather than just running in a straight line.

But the monkey was too hurt and desperate to run away as far away as possible and save itself to be able to think of that.

Hence why it gave the gorilla with two considerably big earth sticks in his hands the chance that it wanted to try and do what the monkeys did to it earlier.

Robus got a clear sight of his target and realized that there was nothing blocking the way between him and his target.

But then he saw the tree that was not too far away in front of the monkey and realized that it would be harder for him to throw the earth spike into the monkey if there was a tree trunk blocking his way, so he knew that he couldn’t wait too long to do it.

With him using his body every day and he was very active in general, Robus got an incredibly high instinct on how to move and control his own body.

And while holding those earth spikes and swinging them around for a little bit, added with the fact that he had seen how the monkeys threw them, Robus already got a general idea on how to throw the earth spikes as powerful and accurately as possible.

But he didn’t know whether what he thought was entirely correct.

So Robus put down one of the earth spikes beside him first and focused on throwing one earth spike to his target.

Robus wanted to try out some moves first to see how his body would react if he did some movements, but remembering that he didn’t have much time before the injured monkey reached the tree, Robus shelved that idea and went straight into action.

Robus took a step forward with his left leg and pulled back his right hand that was holding the earth spike.

His eyes were locked onto his target, the injured monkey, and even though he moved different parts of his body differently, his eyes stayed on the monkey without looking anywhere else.

Robus then rotated his hips, pushed his shoulder forward, and took a step with his hind legs as he jerked his right hand to the front before releasing his grip onto the earth spike.

The earth spike was definitely not a small one as it was the same size as Blake, but the creature that was throwing the earth spike was much, much bigger than the earth spike.

So the moment the man-sized earth spike was released from the giant’s grip, it sped forward like a bullet as it easily cut through the air and headed straight in the direction of its target.

Robus had aimed for the monkey’s head, but due to his inexperience in throwing the earth spike, his aim was slightly amiss and it deviated slightly to the right.

Fortunately, his aim wasn’t off by a lot and the earth spike was able to hit the monkey’s right shoulder.

But simply saying it hit the monkey’s shoulder was an understatement.

The huge earth spike carried an even bigger momentum than its size and it easily pierced through the monkey’s body without losing its speed.

And added with its huge size, the monkey’s body was dragged along with it, heading straight into the tree that was still several meters away from its location.

The earth spike soon arrived at the tree and with the huge momentum still carried within it, the earth spike embedded itself into the tree’s thick trunk with a resounding boom, nailing the monkey into the tree.

It all happened in just a few seconds. It happened so fast that the monkey couldn’t even register what had happened to its body as it felt its body being jerked forward and its face planted onto a tree trunk.

But unfortunately for the monkey, just like how they threw earth spikes back to back to Robus, another boom was heard as the monkey’s head was suddenly broken into uncountable pieces as all the matter inside its skull splattered everywhere as another earth spike, the same size as the first one had completely replaced the monkey’s head, embedding itself deep into the tree trunk.

And the monkey wasn’t the only one who had received the most damage from Robus’ incredibly powerful throw and the earth spikes’ sturdiness.

The tree that now had two huge earth spikes buried deep into its trunk had received more damage than its trunk could take and it had lost the ability to hold the top half of its own body up.

The trunk soon cracked open as the tree started leaning to the opposite side of where the earth spike had come from.

And after a few more seconds, another resounding boom, even bigger than the first two was heard throughout the area as the tree that was standing about 10 meters tall had now been completely toppled down to the ground.
