Chapter 131

“How the hell did the Tyrant great an artificial source of power! It’s like the blue meteorites but this time it’s purple! They are trying to reproduce the calamity that created the deviants!

“This...” Alex frowned as he held on to the gem tightly.

His eyes seemed cold and he almost didn’t notice Blitz and the rest walking in. They gazed at Alex intentionally but no one talked. They could only keep looking at his back while he gazed into the distance.

“We are going to die at this rate” Alex said coldly without gazing at them.

Time and time again the Tyrant gang has proven to be a powerful foe due to the help of one man. The image of the silver-haired man in a white mask appeared in Alex’s head, making him frown terribly.

How can one man threaten the existence of an entire country?

The world’s most powerful country at that!

“Who the hell is that mysterious man” Alex muttered.

.....

He believed once the identity of the man is uncovered. Dealing with him won’t be much of a problem.

Meanwhile, Silver remained silent and seated as he used his phone. He wore a slight frown on his face while he went through a message sent to his number.

After the battle that occurred, he decided to investigate all members of the nameless now. Each and every one of them had solid background information but Queen was different.

Her story was so casual and basic, that Silver considered it too believable to be true. He could clearly remember the enhancer prototype trying to scan her but failing. Either way, Silver didn’t air his thoughts for now.

He wouldn’t dare accuse someone chosen by Alex without reasonable evidence so he remained silent.

“Come one guys cheer up! Out of the eight special squads, only two won their battles and the remaining three fled and three squads were wiped out. We did really good today” Blitz seemed like a simple-minded person and he felt excited.

Hearing his words Alex and Silver smiled. They couldn’t help but admit that having someone as simple-minded and cheerful as blitz is never a bad thing.

I’m sorry! I didn’t think my grandfather would be willing to sacrifice us just to get some information” Blaze said with a slight bow but Alex shook his head in response.

“Who else is he meant to sacrifice if not us? There are far more capable officers out there so it’s only natural we do the dirty work... Hid actions are very logical and straightforward, I see nothing wrong with it” Alex said calmly while looking at Blaze sheepishly.

“General Firestorm only did what was necessary for victory, you cannot blame him for his actions. Do you think we would be here if we had a problem with his actions? This entire base would be on fire now if we are displeased with his actions” Silver said calmly.

He is General Firestorm’s grandson?

The thought flashed through the mind of the rest of the team as they gazed at Blaze as if he was some sort of exotic dog. Even the cold Queen was stunned and gazed at Blaze strangely! Soon they gathered and kept bombarding Blaze with questions.

Meanwhile, Silver approached Alex’s bed and muttered something into his ears.

“Do you trust General Firestorm?” Silver asked.

“Nope” Alex replied in a low tone.

“But this is the best option we have... Instead of getting used as a lab rat, isn’t it best I act loyal and attached to a dedicated man of the country. Through him, they believe they can control me and they will until we have enough power to break free” Alex said coldly.

His eyes were unfocused, making it seem like he could peep into the future to see all he just said play out.

After the completion of the Assignment, Alex had nothing to do for close to a week so he remained indoors, absorbing the energy from the purple gem. Unlike all the beast cores he had used, he felt like this one could be considered unlimited.

He kept running his demon-kin martial technique madly while using the energy of the core to refine it. One thing Alex understood right now was that, even though great defensive capabilities are necessary, he still needs a powerful attack, capable of harming the enemy at higher levels.

After spending an entire week of practicing with the help of the energy he could refine, Alex had broken past the thirty-five breath threshold and pushed to forty breaths.

He could feel his body was getting stronger, even a normal kitchen knife cannot penetrate his skin if swung by a normal person now. He was getting stronger but even with this strength, he was yet to break into the B ratings officially. This made him wonder how many breathes, Damian had achieved just to become an A ranking guardian.

“I need more strength” Alex muttered.

“What you have now is more than you can ever wish for... the ability to advance your strength through this method is never heard off... as far as I am concerned, you have what people dream for but will never get in their life... a cheat code. What you need is time, not power... give it time, even SS-rated guardians will be nothing but trash when forced to face you in combat” Silver said.

“And that’s why I am worried” Alex said calmly.

“I don’t know why but I feel the silver masked man of the Tyrant gang is the same as me... that explains why he said we are the same... that means he can grow stronger infinitely, using this method... soon the Big four or the world won’t be able to stop him” Alex said calmly.

“I doubt it” Silver said with a frown.
