Chapter 515

“Better.” Javier stepped out of the car and didn’t even pass Jennifer a single glance anymore. On the other hand, Jennifer pressed her lips to not disclose her dismay.

She opened the passenger door to step out on the ground. Immediately, her sight marched in all directions where she found them globally isolated from the state.

Then, her gaze traveled to look at Javier’s back who didn’t even show a sign to stop for her.

Jennifer didn’t make a fuss and tended to follow him while overseeing all the surroundings. They both entered the building which she expected to be in bad shape too.

However, her breath stuck in her throat as her eyes swept across all the people who were present in the building.”This.. have you set up everything?”

“Before Lucas regains his powers, we must use Jack as a helping hand.” Javier didn’t revoke and she was thankful.

.....

Javier brought her to one of the rooms after passing various lobbies. They took an elevator to arrive at the third floor and she found herself once again in the prestigious place.

‘Who can imagine that Johnsons have turned such a shabby building in their world quarter.’ It rendered her speechless but she maintained her composure.

Her eyes were still hollow when Javier opened the door for her. As Jennifer took the step inside, she found the room to be similar to what they both shared at his place.

“For how long have you been staying here?” Subconsciously, Jennifer turned around to face him.

“Few days. It is still new.” Javier didn’t initiate much conversation and Jennifer didn’t mind so. While walking inside the room, Jennifer’s heart warmed up. There was a similar fragrance of flowers here...

But at the same time, Jennifer’s simple gaze caught the sight of a cotton ball lying on the ground. She walked there to pick it up from the ground and stared at it.

“Why does this cotton have blood?” Jennifer didn’t lift her eyes but Javier saw her expression. He was staring at her confused and innocent face with his fierce expression.

“My wounds... they still need to be treated many times.” Javier’s words brought a sour memory to her heart. His speech contained mockery for her but Jennifer didn’t show such an attitude.

At last, Jennifer threw the cotton into the bin before coming and standing opposite Javier.

Immediately, Javier lowered his eyes to focus on his wife whose vibes gave him a different feeling, “You look scared.”

“I’m not scared. I just have to tell you about what happened behind your back.”

“Do you think I don’t know anything?” Javier’s brows lifted from their place at the thought that his wife was still in a dream that he never kept an eye on State’s happenings.

Javier wished to laugh at her innocence, but Jennifer still held her serious look, “You might know a few things but not all. After all, not everyone knows about what I’m going to tell you.”

For a while, fear of known and unknown was making her heart consumed with fear yet again. Jennifer couldn’t remember if she felt this afraid ever in her entire life.

While Javier maintained his calm approach towards her, his thick intensity made her shudder. “I-I wanted to tell you about..something...t...”

“That is?”

“About my pregnancy.” Jennifer finally muttered after bringing a lot of courage to her mind.

Jennifer slightly lifted her eyes to take a peak at his expression and as expected, his eyes were wide as saucers. He appeared thunderstruck from head to toe to her.

“I-I found out that I was pregnant with our child when I returned to the states. It was in the hospital that I learned I had a miscarriage and have lost my baby...” Jennifer’s eyes were filled with redness.

“I didn’t know how to react and Hannah told me that my parents were the ones who tried to keep this hidden from the entire Smith family and even from me. It was only because of Hannah that I came to know about this...Javier, we lost our first baby..”

Tears escaped from her eyes without holding themselves at bay. She had to close her eyes and her fingers converted into a fist. She was plagued with a painful and heavy heart. A bitter smile curved on her lips as she recalled the moment again.

All her thoughts drove her to tears. She was overhauled with the emotions that were surging inside her.

At the same time, Javier was frozen in utter shock. His lips parted but no voice came out. He stared at the woman’s face and found her crying with her heart out.

“Y-You were..pregnant..?” Javier once again asked, finding his heart shattering into thousands of pieces at the mention of miscarriage.

“I’m Sorry Javier...I’m really sorry Javier...” She kept on mumbling under her breath. But Javier didn’t find anything fitting inside his brain.

He took a few steps back since he felt the sharp pain attacking his heart. “Y-You lost your child because...of how that bastard Lucas treated you?”

Subconsciously, Jennifer passed him a nod. Jennifer lifted her face to gaze back at Javier with her red eyes. She found him in total shock, unable to accept the reality so easily.

A deep sigh escaped from her lips at the realization of a thousand memories. The past was like a bad memory that could never be managed. While she tried to calm down her own self, Jennifer felt Javier’s mind go numb.

A crease formed between his brows and she can feel not able to tear her gaze off his face. “Javier..”

“We lost our child because of Lucas?!”

“Unfortunately....”

But this didn’t stop Javier’s mind from being burst with anger that was constantly provoking his mind. He couldn’t realize many things but now, everything appeared clear.

Javier had to take the support of the nearby wall when he found himself suffocating. His breath went on strike since his heart was not able to cope with the sudden shock.

But Jennifer turned concerned on seeing his reaction. “Javier..be careful..don’t fall..”

Yet her words had no impact on Javier. He was boiling in the pit of fire. Immediately, he curled his finger into the existing fist when he hit the wall beside him with a strong punch!

SMASH!

“JAVIER!”
